9:114
وَمَا كَانَ اسْتِغْفَارُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ إِلَّا عَن مَّوْعِدَةٍ وَعَدَهَا إِيَّاهُ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ أَنَّهُ عَدُوٌّ لِّلَّهِ تَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُ ۚ إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لَأَوَّاهٌ حَلِيمٌвəмəə кəəнə-стиґфəəру ибрōōhиимə ли`əбииhи ильлəə 'əмм-мəу'идəтиу-вə'əдəhəə иййəəhу фəлəммəə тəбэййəнə лəhу əннəhу 'əдуувул-лильлəhи тəбəррō`ə минh, иннə ибрōōhиимə лə`əувəəhун həлиим
Abraham’s pleading forgiveness for his father was only to fulfill a promise he had made him. So when it became manifest to him that he was an enemy of God, he repudiated him. Indeed Abraham was most plaintive and forbearing. -
9:115
وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُضِلَّ قَوْمًا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَاهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُبَيِّنَ لَهُم مَّا يَتَّقُونَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌвəмəə кəəнəл-лаhу лийудыльлə ќōумəмм-бə'дə из̃ həдəəhум həттəə йубəййинə лəhум-мəə йəттəќуун, иннəл-лаhə бикулли шэй`ин 'əлиим
Allah does not lead any people astray after He has guided them until He has made clear to them what they should beware of. Indeed Allah has knowledge of all things. -
9:116
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ ۚ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍиннəл-лаhə лəhу мулькус-сəмəəвəəти вəəль`əрд, йуhйии вəйумиит, вəмəə лəкум-миŋŋ-дууниль-лəhи миу-вəлиййиу-вəлəə нəсыыр
Indeed to Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He gives life and brings death. And besides Allah you do not have any guardian or helper. -
9:117
لَّقَد تَّابَ اللَّهُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ وَالْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنصَارِ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ فِي سَاعَةِ الْعُسْرَةِ مِن بَعْدِ مَا كَادَ يَزِيغُ قُلُوبُ فَرِيقٍ مِّنْهُمْ ثُمَّ تَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّهُ بِهِمْ رَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌлəќōт-тəəбəл-лаhу 'əлəəн-нəбиййи вəəльмуhəəджириинə вəəль`əŋŋсōōриль-лəз̃иинə-ттəбə'ууhу фии сəə'əтиль-'усрōти мимм-бə'ди мəə кəəдə йəзииґу ќулююбу фəрииќимм-минhум c̃уммə тəəбə 'əлэйhим, иннəhу биhим рō`ууфур-рōhиим
Certainly Allah turned clemently to the Prophet and the Emigrants and the Helpers, who followed him in the hour of difficulty, after the hearts of a part of them were about to swerve. Then He turned clemently to them—indeed, He is most kind and merciful to them -
9:118
وَعَلَى الثَّلَاثَةِ الَّذِينَ خُلِّفُوا حَتَّىٰ إِذَا ضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْأَرْضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتْ وَضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ وَظَنُّوا أَن لَّا مَلْجَأَ مِنَ اللَّهِ إِلَّا إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ تَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ لِيَتُوبُوا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُвə'əлəəc̃-c̃əлəəc̃əтиль-лəз̃иинə хуллифуу həттəə из̃əə дōōќōт 'əлэйhимуль-əрду бимəə рōhубəт вəдōōќōт 'əлэйhим əŋŋфусуhум вəз̃ōннуу əль-лəə мəльджə`ə минəл-лаhи ильлəə илəйhи c̃уммə тəəбə 'əлэйhим лийəтуубуу, иннəл-лаhə hувəт-тəувəəбур-рōhиим
—and to the three who were left behind. When the earth became narrow for them with [all] its expanse, and their own souls weighed heavily on them, and they knew that there was no refuge from Allah except in Him, then He turned clemently toward them so that they might be penitent. Indeed Allah is the All-clement, the All-merciful. -
9:120
مَا كَانَ لِأَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُم مِّنَ الْأَعْرَابِ أَن يَتَخَلَّفُوا عَن رَّسُولِ اللَّهِ وَلَا يَرْغَبُوا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ عَن نَّفْسِهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ لَا يُصِيبُهُمْ ظَمَأٌ وَلَا نَصَبٌ وَلَا مَخْمَصَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَا يَطَئُونَ مَوْطِئًا يَغِيظُ الْكُفَّارَ وَلَا يَنَالُونَ مِنْ عَدُوٍّ نَّيْلًا إِلَّا كُتِبَ لَهُم بِهِ عَمَلٌ صَالِحٌ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِينَмəə кəəнə ли`əhлиль-мəдиинəти вəмəн həулəhум-минəль-ə'рōōби əй-йəтəхōльлəфуу 'əр-рōсуулиль-лəhи вəлəə йəрґōбуу би`əŋŋфусиhим 'əн-нəфсиh, з̃əəликə би`əннəhум лəə йусыыбуhум з̃ōмə`уу-вəлəə нəсōбуу-вəлəə мəхмəсōтун фии сəбиилиль-лəhи вəлəə йəтō`уунə мəуты`əй-йəґииз̃уль-куффəəрō вəлəə йəнəəлююнə мин 'əдуувин-ннəйлəн ильлəə кутибə лəhумм-биhи 'əмəлюн сōōлиh, иннəл-лаhə лəə йудыы'у əджрōль-муhсиниин
It is not fitting for the people of Madinah and the Bedouins around them to hang back behind the Apostle of Allah and prefer their own lives to his life. That is because they neither experience any thirst, nor fatigue, nor hunger, in the way of Allah, nor do they tread any ground enraging the faithless, nor do they gain any ground against an enemy but a righteous deed is written for them on its account. Indeed Allah does not waste the reward of the virtuous. -
9:121
وَلَا يُنفِقُونَ نَفَقَةً صَغِيرَةً وَلَا كَبِيرَةً وَلَا يَقْطَعُونَ وَادِيًا إِلَّا كُتِبَ لَهُمْ لِيَجْزِيَهُمُ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَвəлəə йуŋŋфиќуунə нəфəќōтəн сōґиирōтəу-вəлəə кəбиирōтəу-вəлəə йəќтō'уунə вəəдийəн ильлəə кутибə лəhум лийəджзийəhумул-лаhу əhсəнə мəə кəəнуу йə'мəлююн
And neither do they incur any expense, big or small, nor do they cross any valley, but it is written to their account, so that Allah may reward them by the best of what they used to do. -
9:122
۞ وَمَا كَانَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لِيَنفِرُوا كَافَّةً ۚ فَلَوْلَا نَفَرَ مِن كُلِّ فِرْقَةٍ مِّنْهُمْ طَائِفَةٌ لِّيَتَفَقَّهُوا فِي الدِّينِ وَلِيُنذِرُوا قَوْمَهُمْ إِذَا رَجَعُوا إِلَيْهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَحْذَرُونَвəмəə кəəнəль-му`минуунə лийəŋŋфируу кəəффəh, фəлəулəə нəфəрō миŋŋ-кулли фирќōтимм-минhум тōō`ифəтул-лийəтəфəќќōhуу фиид-диини вəлийуŋŋз̃ируу ќōумəhум из̃əə рōджə'уу илəйhим лə'əльлəhум йəhз̃əруун
Yet it is not for the faithful to go forth en masse. But why should not there a group from each of their sections go forth to become learned in religion, and to warn their people when they return to them, so that they may beware? -
9:123
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قَاتِلُوا الَّذِينَ يَلُونَكُم مِّنَ الْكُفَّارِ وَلْيَجِدُوا فِيكُمْ غِلْظَةً ۚ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الْمُتَّقِينَйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу ќōōтилююль-лəз̃иинə йəлююнəкум-минəль-куффəəри вəльйəджидуу фиикум ґильз̃ōh, вəə'лəмуу əннəл-лаhə мə'əль-муттəќиин
O you who have faith! Fight the faithless who are in your vicinity, and let them find severity in you, and know that Allah is with the Godwary. -
9:124
وَإِذَا مَا أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ فَمِنْهُم مَّن يَقُولُ أَيُّكُمْ زَادَتْهُ هَـٰذِهِ إِيمَانًا ۚ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فَزَادَتْهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَهُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَвə`из̃əə мəə уŋŋзилəт суурōтун фəминhум-мəй-йəќуулю əййукум зəəдəтhу həəз̃иhи иимəəнə, фə`əммəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу фəзəəдəтhум иимəəнəу-вəhум йəстəбшируун
Whenever a surah is sent down, there are some of them who say, ‘Which of you did it increase in faith?’ As for those who have faith, it increases them in faith, and they rejoice. -
9:125
وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ فَزَادَتْهُمْ رِجْسًا إِلَىٰ رِجْسِهِمْ وَمَاتُوا وَهُمْ كَافِرُونَвə`əммəəль-лəз̃иинə фии ќулююбиhим-мəрōдун фəзəəдəтhум риджсəн илəə риджсиhим вəмəəтуу вəhум кəəфируун
But as for those in whose heart is a sickness, it only adds defilement to their defilement, and they die while they are faithless. -
9:126
أَوَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّهُمْ يُفْتَنُونَ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ مَّرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ لَا يَتُوبُونَ وَلَا هُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَəвəлəə йəрōунə əннəhум йуфтəнуунə фии кулли 'əəмимм-мəррōтəн əу мəррōтəйни c̃уммə лəə йəтуубуунə вəлəə hум йəз̃з̃əккəруун
Do they not see that they are tried once or twice every year? Yet they neither repent, nor do they take admonition. -
9:127
وَإِذَا مَا أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ نَّظَرَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ هَلْ يَرَاكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ ثُمَّ انصَرَفُوا ۚ صَرَفَ اللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُم بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَвə`из̃əə мəə уŋŋзилəт суурōтун-ннəз̃ōрō бə'дуhум илəə бə'дын həль йəрōōкум-мин əhəдин c̃уммə-ŋŋсōрōфуу, сōрōфəл-лаhу ќулююбəhумм-би`əннəhум ќōумуль-лəə йəфќōhуун
Whenever a surah is sent down they look at one another: ‘Is anybody observing you?’ Then they slip away. Allah has turned aside their hearts, for they are a people who do not understand. -
9:128
لَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُم بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌлəќōд джəə`əкум рōсуулюмм-мин əŋŋфусикум 'əзиизун 'əлэйhи мəə 'əниттум həриисун 'əлэйкумм-би-ль-му`миниинə рō`ууфур-рōhиим
There has certainly come to you an apostle from among yourselves. Grievous to him is your distress; he has deep concern for you, and is most kind and merciful to the faithful. -
9:129
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ ۖ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِфə`иŋŋ-тəвəльлəу фəќуль həсбийəл-лаhу лəə илəəhə ильлəə hуу, 'əлэйhи тəвəккəльт, вəhувə рōббуль-'əршиль-'əз̃ыым
But if they turn their backs [on you], say, ‘Allah is sufficient for me. There is no god except Him. In Him I have put my trust and He is the Lord of the Great Throne.’ -
10:2
أَكَانَ لِلنَّاسِ عَجَبًا أَنْ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَنْ أَنذِرِ النَّاسَ وَبَشِّرِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنَّ لَهُمْ قَدَمَ صِدْقٍ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ۗ قَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَاحِرٌ مُّبِينٌəкəəнə лин-нəəси 'əджəбəн əн əуhəйнəə илəə рōджулимм-минhум əн əŋŋз̃ирин-нəəсə вəбəшшириль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу əннə лəhум ќōдəмə сыдќин 'иŋŋдə рōббиhим, ќōōлəль-кəəфируунə иннə həəз̃əə лəсəəhирумм-мубиин
Does it seem odd to these people that We have revealed to a man from among themselves, [declaring], ‘Warn mankind, and give good news to the faithful that they are in good standing with their Lord’? The faithless say, ‘This is indeed a plain magician.’ -
10:3
إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ ۖ يُدَبِّرُ الْأَمْرَ ۖ مَا مِن شَفِيعٍ إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِ إِذْنِهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُ ۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَиннə рōббəкумул-лаhуль-лəз̃ии хōлəќōс-сəмəəвəəти вəəль`əрдō фии ситтəти əййəəмин c̃уммə-стəвəə 'əлəəль-'əрш, йудəббируль-əмр, мəə миŋŋ-шəфии'ин ильлəə мимм-бə'ди из̃ниh, з̃əəликумул-лаhу рōббукум фəə'будууh, əфəлəə тəз̃əккəруун
Indeed your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and then settled on the Throne, directing the command. There is no intercessor, except by His leave. That is Allah, your Lord! So worship Him. Will you not then take admonition? -
10:4
إِلَيْهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا ۖ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقًّا ۚ إِنَّهُ يَبْدَأُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ بِالْقِسْطِ ۚ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَهُمْ شَرَابٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ وَعَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْفُرُونَилəйhи мəрджи'укум джəмии'ə, вə'дəл-лаhи həќќō, иннəhу йəбдə`уль-хōльќō c̃уммə йу'иидуhу лийəджзийəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу вə'əмилююс-сōōлиhəəти би-ль-ќист, вəəльлəз̃иинə кəфəруу лəhум шəрōōбумм-мин həмиимиу-вə'əз̃əəбун əлиимумм-бимəə кəəнуу йəкфуруун
To Him will be the return of you all; [that is] Allah’s true promise. Indeed, He originates the creation, then He will bring it back that He may reward with justice those who have faith and do righteous deeds. As for the faithless, they shall have boiling water for drink, and a painful punishment because of what they used to defy.
