بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
бисмиль-лəhир-рōhмəəнир-рōhиим
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful. -
46:3
مَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَمَّا أُنذِرُوا مُعْرِضُونَмəə хōлəќнəəс-сəмəəвəəти вəəль`əрдō вəмəə бэйнəhумəə ильлəə би-ль-həќќи вə`əджəлимм-мусəммəн, вəəльлəз̃иинə кəфəруу 'əммəə уŋŋз̃ируу му'ридуун
We did not create the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them except with consummate wisdom and for a specified term. Yet the faithless are disregardful of what they are warned. -
46:4
قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقُوا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ أَمْ لَهُمْ شِرْكٌ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ ۖ ائْتُونِي بِكِتَابٍ مِّن قَبْلِ هَـٰذَا أَوْ أَثَارَةٍ مِّنْ عِلْمٍ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَќуль əрō`əйтум-мəə тəд'уунə миŋŋ-дууниль-лəhи əруунии мəəз̃əə хōлəќуу минəль-əрды əм лəhум ширкун фиис-сəмəəвəəт, у`туунии бикитəəбимм-миŋŋ-ќōбли həəз̃əə əу əc̃əəрōтимм-мин 'ильмин иŋŋ-куŋŋтум сōōдиќиин
Say, ‘Tell me about those you invoke besides Allah. Show me what [part] of the earth have they created. Do they have any share in the heavens? Bring me a scripture [revealed] before this, or some vestige of [divine] knowledge, if you are truthful.’ -
46:5
وَمَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدْعُو مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَن لَّا يَسْتَجِيبُ لَهُ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَهُمْ عَن دُعَائِهِمْ غَافِلُونَвəмəн əдōллю миммəй-йəд'уу миŋŋ-дууниль-лəhи мəль-лəə йəстəджиибу лəhу илəə йəумиль-ќийəəмəти вəhум 'əŋŋ-ду'əə`иhим ґōōфилююн
Who is more astray than him who invokes besides Allah such [entities] as would not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection, and who are oblivious of their invocation? -
46:7
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ هَـٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌвə`из̃əə тутлəə 'əлэйhим əəйəəтунəə бэййинəəтин ќōōлəль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу ли-ль-həќќи лəммəə джəə`əhум həəз̃əə сиhрумм-мубиин
When Our manifest signs are recited to them, the faithless say of the truth when it comes to them: ‘This is plain magic.’ -
46:8
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ ۖ قُلْ إِنِ افْتَرَيْتُهُ فَلَا تَمْلِكُونَ لِي مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا ۖ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِ ۖ كَفَىٰ بِهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ ۖ وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُəм йəќуулююнə-фтəрōōh, ќуль ини-фтəрōйтуhу фəлəə тəмликуунə лии минəл-лаhи шэй`ə, hувə ə'лəму бимəə туфиидуунə фииh, кəфəə биhи шəhиидəмм-бэйнии вəбэйнəкум, вəhувəль-ґōфуурур-рōhиим
Or they say, ‘He has fabricated it.’ Say, ‘Should I have fabricated it, you would not avail me anything against Allah. He best knows what you gossip concerning it. He suffices as a witness between me and you, and He is the All-forgiving, the All-merciful.’ -
46:9
قُلْ مَا كُنتُ بِدْعًا مِّنَ الرُّسُلِ وَمَا أَدْرِي مَا يُفْعَلُ بِي وَلَا بِكُمْ ۖ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ وَمَا أَنَا إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌќуль мəə куŋŋту бид'əмм-минəр-русули вəмəə əдрии мəə йуф'əлю бии вəлəə бикум, ин əттəби'у ильлəə мəə йууhəə илəййə вəмəə əнəə ильлəə нəз̃иирумм-мубиин
Say, ‘I am not a novelty among the apostles, nor do I know what will be done with me, or with you. I just follow whatever is revealed to me, and I am just a manifest warner.’ -
46:10
قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ وَكَفَرْتُم بِهِ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِّن بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَىٰ مِثْلِهِ فَآمَنَ وَاسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَќуль əрō`əйтум иŋŋ-кəəнə мин 'иŋŋдиль-лəhи вəкəфəртумм-биhи вəшəhидə шəəhидумм-мимм-бəнии исрōō`иилə 'əлəə миc̃лиhи фə`əəмəнə вəəстəкбəртум, иннəл-лаhə лəə йəhдииль-ќōумəз̃-з̃ōōлимиин
Say, ‘Tell me, if it is from Allah and you disbelieve in it, and a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to its like and believed [in it], while you are disdainful [of it]?’ Indeed Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot. -
46:11
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا مَّا سَبَقُونَا إِلَيْهِ ۚ وَإِذْ لَمْ يَهْتَدُوا بِهِ فَسَيَقُولُونَ هَـٰذَا إِفْكٌ قَدِيمٌвəќōōлəль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу лильлəз̃иинə əəмəнуу лəу кəəнə хōйрōмм-мəə сəбəќуунəə илəйh, вə`из̃ лəм йəhтəдуу биhи фəсəйəќуулююнə həəз̃əə ифкун ќōдиим
The faithless say about the faithful, ‘Had it been [anything] good, they would not have taken the lead over us toward [accepting] it.’ And since they could not find the way to it, they will say, ‘It is an ancient lie.’ -
46:12
وَمِن قَبْلِهِ كِتَابُ مُوسَىٰ إِمَامًا وَرَحْمَةً ۚ وَهَـٰذَا كِتَابٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّسَانًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّيُنذِرَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُحْسِنِينَвəмиŋŋ-ќōблиhи китəəбу муусəə имəəмəу-вəрōhмəh, вəhəəз̃əə китəəбумм-мусōддиќул-лисəəнəн 'əрōбиййəл-лийуŋŋз̃ирōль-лəз̃иинə з̃ōлəмуу вəбушрōō ли-ль-муhсиниин
Yet before it the Book of Moses was a guide and mercy, and this is a Book in the Arabic language, which confirms it, [sent] to warn the wrongdoers, and is a [bearer of] good news for the virtuous. -
46:13
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَامُوا فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَиннəль-лəз̃иинə ќōōлюю рōббунəл-лаhу c̃уммə-стəќōōмуу фəлəə хōуфун 'əлэйhим вəлəə hум йəhзəнуун
Those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remain steadfast, they will have no fear, nor will they grieve. -
46:15
وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ إِحْسَانًا ۖ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُ كُرْهًا وَوَضَعَتْهُ كُرْهًا ۖ وَحَمْلُهُ وَفِصَالُهُ ثَلَاثُونَ شَهْرًا ۚ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ وَبَلَغَ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً قَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِي ۖ إِنِّي تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَвəвəссōйнəəль-иŋŋсəəнə бивəəлидəйhи иhсəəнə, həмəлəтhу уммуhу курhəу-вəвəдō'əтhу курhə, вəhəмлюhу вəфисōōлюhу c̃əлəəc̃уунə шəhрō, həттəə из̃əə бəлəґō əшуддəhу вəбəлəґō əрбə'иинə сəнəтəн ќōōлə рōбби əузи'нии əн əшкурō ни'мəтəкəль-лəтии əн'əмтə 'əлэййə вə'əлəə вəəлидəййə вə`əн ə'мəлə сōōлиhəн тəрдōōhу вə`əслиh лии фии з̃урриййəтий, иннии тубту илəйкə вə`иннии минəль-муслимиин
We have enjoined man to be kind to his parents. His mother has carried him in travail, and bore him in travail, and his gestation and weaning take thirty months. When he comes of age and reaches forty years, he says, ‘My Lord! Inspire me to give thanks for Your blessing with which You have blessed me and my parents, and that I may do righteous deeds which please You, and invest my descendants with righteousness. Indeed I have turned to you in penitence, and I am one of the Muslims.’ -
46:16
أُولَـٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنْهُمْ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا وَنَتَجَاوَزُ عَن سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ فِي أَصْحَابِ الْجَنَّةِ ۖ وَعْدَ الصِّدْقِ الَّذِي كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَуулəə`икəль-лəз̃иинə нəтəќōббəлю 'əнhум əhсəнə мəə 'əмилюю вəнəтəджəəвəзу 'əŋŋ-сəййи`əəтиhим фии əсhəəбиль-джəннəh, вə'дəс-сыдќиль-лəз̃ии кəəнуу йуу'əдуун
Such are the ones from whom We accept the best of what they do, and overlook their misdeeds, [who will be] among the inhabitants of paradise—a true promise which they had been given. -
46:17
وَالَّذِي قَالَ لِوَالِدَيْهِ أُفٍّ لَّكُمَا أَتَعِدَانِنِي أَنْ أُخْرَجَ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ الْقُرُونُ مِن قَبْلِي وَهُمَا يَسْتَغِيثَانِ اللَّهَ وَيْلَكَ آمِنْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ فَيَقُولُ مَا هَـٰذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَвəəльлəз̃ии ќōōлə ливəəлидəйhи уффиль-лəкумəə əтə'идəəнинии əн ухрōджə вəќōд хōлəтиль-ќурууну миŋŋ-ќōблии вəhумəə йəстəґииc̃əəниль-лəhə вəйлəкə əəмин иннə вə'дəл-лаhи həќќун фəйəќуулю мəə həəз̃əə ильлəə əсəəтыыруль-əувəлиин
As for him who says to his parents, ‘Fie on you! Do you promise me that I shall be raised [from the dead] when generations have passed away before me?’ And they invoke Allah’s help [and say]: ‘Woe to you! Believe! Indeed Allah’s promise is true.’ But he says, ‘These are nothing but myths of the ancients.’ -
46:18
أُولَـٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا خَاسِرِينَуулəə`икəль-лəз̃иинə həќќō 'əлэйhимуль-ќōулю фии умəмин ќōд хōлəт миŋŋ-ќōблиhим-минəль-джинни вəəль`иŋŋс, иннəhум кəəнуу хōōсириин
Such are the ones against whom the word has become due, along with the nations of jinn and humans that have passed away before them. They were the losers. -
46:19
وَلِكُلٍّ دَرَجَاتٌ مِّمَّا عَمِلُوا ۖ وَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ أَعْمَالَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَвəликуллин дəрōджəəтумм-миммəə 'əмилюу, вəлийувəффийəhум ə'мəəлəhум вəhум лəə йуз̃лəмуун
For everyone there are degrees [of merit] pertaining to what he has done: He will recompense them fully for their works, and they will not be wronged. -
46:20
وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَلَى النَّارِ أَذْهَبْتُمْ طَيِّبَاتِكُمْ فِي حَيَاتِكُمُ الدُّنْيَا وَاسْتَمْتَعْتُم بِهَا فَالْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ عَذَابَ الْهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَفْسُقُونَвəйəумə йу'рōдуль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу 'əлəəн-нəəри əз̃həбтум тōййибəəтикум фии həйəəтикумуд-дунйəə вəəстəмтə'тумм-биhəə фəəльйəумə туджзəунə 'əз̃əəбəль-hууни бимəə куŋŋтум тəстəкбируунə фииль-əрды биґōйриль-həќќи вəбимəə куŋŋтум тəфсуќуун
The day when the faithless are exposed to the Fire, [they will be told,] ‘You have exhausted your good things in the life of the world and enjoyed them. So today you will be requited with a humiliating punishment for your acting arrogantly in the earth unduly, and because you used to transgress.’
