13:42
وَقَدْ مَكَرَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَلِلَّهِ الْمَكْرُ جَمِيعًا ۖ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْسِبُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ الْكُفَّارُ لِمَنْ عُقْبَى الدَّارِвəќōд мəкəрōль-лəз̃иинə миŋŋ-ќōблиhим фəлильлəhиль-мəкру джəмии'ə, йə'лəму мəə тəксибу куллю нəфс, вəсəйə'лəмуль-куффəəру лимəн 'уќбəəд-дəəр
Those who were before them [also] schemed; yet all devising belongs to Allah. He knows what every soul earns. Soon the faithless will know in whose favour the outcome of that abode will be. -
13:43
وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَسْتَ مُرْسَلًا ۚ قُلْ كَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ وَمَنْ عِندَهُ عِلْمُ الْكِتَابِвəйəќуулюль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу лəстə мурсəлə, ќуль кəфəə биль-лəhи шəhиидəмм-бэйнии вəбэйнəкум вəмəн 'иŋŋдəhу 'ильмуль-китəəб
The faithless say, ‘You have not been sent [by Allah].’ Say, ‘Allah suffices as a witness between me and you, and he who possesses the knowledge of the Book.’ -
14:1
الر ۚ كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ لِتُخْرِجَ النَّاسَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِАлиф, лəм, ра. китəəбун əŋŋзəльнəəhу илəйкə литухриджəн-нəəсə минəз̃-з̃улюмəəти илəəн-нуури би`из̃ни рōббиhим илəə сырōōтыль-'əзиизиль-həмиид
Alif, Lam, Ra. [This is] a Book We have sent down to you that you may bring mankind out from darkness into light, by the command of their Lord, to the path of the All-mighty, the All-laudable -
14:2
اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ وَوَيْلٌ لِّلْكَافِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍаллаhиль-лəз̃ии лəhу мəə фиис-сəмəəвəəти вəмəə фииль-əрд, вəвəйлюл-ли-ль-кəəфириинə мин 'əз̃əəбин шəдиид
—Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Woe to the faithless for a severe punishment -
14:3
الَّذِينَ يَسْتَحِبُّونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى الْآخِرَةِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا ۚ أُولَـٰئِكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍəльлəз̃иинə йəстəhиббуунəль-həйəəтəд-дунйəə 'əлəəль-əəхырōти вəйəсуддуунə 'əŋŋ-сəбиилиль-лəhи вəйəбґуунəhəə 'ивəджə, уулəə`икə фии дōлəəлимм-бə'иид
—those who prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter, and bar [others] from the way of Allah, and seek to make it crooked. They are in extreme error. -
14:4
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ ۖ فَيُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُвəмəə əрсəльнəə мир-рōсуулин ильлəə билисəəни ќōумиhи лийубəййинə лəhум, фəйудыллюл-лаhу мəй-йəшəə`у вəйəhдии мəй-йəшəə, вəhувəль-'əзиизуль-həкиим
We did not send any apostle except with the language of his people, so that he might make [Our messages] clear to them. Then Allah leads astray whomever He wishes, and He guides whomsoever He wishes, and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise. -
14:5
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِآيَاتِنَا أَنْ أَخْرِجْ قَوْمَكَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ وَذَكِّرْهُم بِأَيَّامِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍвəлəќōд əрсəльнəə муусəə би`əəйəəтинəə əн əхридж ќōумəкə минəз̃-з̃улюмəəти илəəн-нуури вəз̃əккирhумм-би`əййəəмиль-лəh, иннə фии з̃əəликə лə`əəйəəтил-ликулли сōббəəрин шəкуур
Certainly We sent Moses with Our signs: ‘Bring your people out from darkness into light and remind them of Allah’s [holy] days. There are indeed signs in that for every patient and grateful [servant].’ -
14:6
وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ أَنجَاكُم مِّنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ وَيُذَبِّحُونَ أَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَاءَكُمْ ۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكُم بَلَاءٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌвə`из̃ ќōōлə муусəə лиќōумиhи-з̃куруу ни'мəтəл-лаhи 'əлэйкум из̃ əŋŋджəəкум-мин əəли фир'əунə йəсуумуунəкум суу`əль-'əз̃əəби вəйуз̃əббиhуунə əбнəə`əкум вəйəстəhйуунə нисəə`əкум, вəфии з̃əəликумм-бəлəə`умм-мир-рōббикум 'əз̃ыым
When Moses said to his people, ‘Remember Allah’s blessing upon you when He delivered you from Pharaoh’s clan who inflicted a terrible torment on you, and slaughtered your sons and spared your women, and in that there was a great test from your Lord. -
14:7
وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ ۖ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٌвə`из̃ тə`əз̃з̃əнə рōббукум лə`иŋŋ-шəкəртум лə`əзиидəннəкум, вəлə`иŋŋ-кəфəртум иннə 'əз̃əəбии лəшəдиид
And when your Lord proclaimed, “If you are grateful, I will surely enhance you [in blessing], but if you are ungrateful, My punishment is indeed severe.” ’ -
14:8
وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ إِن تَكْفُرُوا أَنتُمْ وَمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌвəќōōлə муусəə иŋŋ-тəкфуруу əŋŋтум вəмəŋŋ-фииль-əрды джəмии'əн фə`иннəл-лаhə лəґōниййун həмиид
And Moses said, ‘Should you be faithless,—you and everyone on the earth, all together—indeed Allah is all-sufficient, all-laudable.’ -
14:9
أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَأُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ ۛ وَالَّذِينَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ ۛ لَا يَعْلَمُهُمْ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ۚ جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَرَدُّوا أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَقَالُوا إِنَّا كَفَرْنَا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ وَإِنَّا لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَنَا إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍəлəм йə`тикум нəбə`уль-лəз̃иинə миŋŋ-ќōбликум ќōуми нууhиу-вə'əəдиу-вəc̃əмуудə вəəльлəз̃иинə мимм-бə'диhим, лəə йə'лəмуhум ильлəл-лаh, джəə`əтhум русулюhумм-би-ль-бэййинəəти фəрōддуу əйдийəhум фии əфвəəhиhим вəќōōлюю иннəə кəфəрнəə бимəə урсильтумм-биhи вə`иннəə лəфии шəккимм-миммəə тəд'уунəнəə илəйhи мурииб
Has there not come to you the account of those who were before you—the people of Noah, ‘Ad and Thamud, and those who were after them, whom no one knows [well] except Allah? Their apostles brought them manifest proofs, but they did not respond to them, and said, ‘We disbelieve in what you have been sent with. Indeed we have grave doubts concerning that to which you invite us.’ -
14:10
۞ قَالَتْ رُسُلُهُمْ أَفِي اللَّهِ شَكٌّ فَاطِرِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ يَدْعُوكُمْ لِيَغْفِرَ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرَكُمْ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ قَالُوا إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَصُدُّونَا عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ آبَاؤُنَا فَأْتُونَا بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍќōōлəт русулюhум əфиил-лаhи шəккун фəəтырис-сəмəəвəəти вəəль`əрд, йəд'уукум лийəґфирō лəкум-миŋŋ-з̃унуубикум вəйу`əххырōкум илəə əджəлимм-мусəммəн, ќōōлюю ин əŋŋтум ильлəə бəшəрумм-миc̃люнəə туриидуунə əŋŋ-тəсуддуунəə 'əммəə кəəнə йə'буду əəбəə`унəə фə`туунəə бисультōōнимм-мубиин
Their apostles said, ‘Is there any doubt about Allah, the originator of the heavens and the earth?! He calls you to forgive you a part of your sins, and grants you respite until a specified time.’ They said, ‘You are nothing but humans like us who desire to bar us from what our fathers used to worship. So bring us a manifest authority.’ -
14:11
قَالَتْ لَهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ إِن نَّحْنُ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ وَلَـٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَمُنُّ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا أَن نَّأْتِيَكُم بِسُلْطَانٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ۚ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَќōōлəт лəhум русулюhум ин-нəhну ильлəə бəшəрумм-миc̃люкум вəлəəкиннəл-лаhə йəмунну 'əлəə мəй-йəшəə`у мин 'ибəəдиh, вəмəə кəəнə лəнəə əн-нə`тийəкумм-бисультōōнин ильлəə би`из̃ниль-лəh, вə'əлəл-лаhи фəльйəтəвəккəлиль-му`минуун
Their apostles said to them, ‘Indeed we are just human beings like yourselves; but Allah favours whomever of His servants that He wishes. We may not bring you an authority except by Allah’s leave, and in Allah let all the faithful put their trust. -
14:12
وَمَا لَنَا أَلَّا نَتَوَكَّلَ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَانَا سُبُلَنَا ۚ وَلَنَصْبِرَنَّ عَلَىٰ مَا آذَيْتُمُونَا ۚ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُتَوَكِّلُونَвəмəə лəнəə əльлəə нəтəвəккəлə 'əлəл-лаhи вəќōд həдəəнəə субулəнəə, вəлəнəсбирōннə 'əлəə мəə əəз̃əйтумуунəə, вə'əлəл-лаhи фəльйəтəвəккəлиль-мутəвəккилююн
And why should we not put our trust in Allah, seeing that He has guided us in our ways? Surely, we will put up patiently with whatever torment you may inflict upon us, and in Allah let all the trusting put their trust.’ -
14:13
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِرُسُلِهِمْ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِنَا أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِي مِلَّتِنَا ۖ فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ لَنُهْلِكَنَّ الظَّالِمِينَвəќōōлəль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу лирусулиhим лəнухриджəннəкум-мин əрдынəə əу лəтə'уудуннə фии мильлəтинəə, фə`əуhəə илəйhим рōббуhум лəнуhликəннəз̃-з̃ōōлимиин
But the faithless said to their apostles, ‘Surely we will expel you from our land, or you shall revert to our creed.’ Thereat their Lord revealed to them: ‘We will surely destroy the wrongdoers, -
14:14
وَلَنُسْكِنَنَّكُمُ الْأَرْضَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامِي وَخَافَ وَعِيدِвəлəнускинəннəкумуль-əрдō мимм-бə'диhим, з̃əəликə лимəн хōōфə мəќōōмии вəхōōфə вə'иид
and surely We will settle you in the land after them. This [promise] is for someone who is awed to stand before Me and fears My threat.’ -
14:17
يَتَجَرَّعُهُ وَلَا يَكَادُ يُسِيغُهُ وَيَأْتِيهِ الْمَوْتُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمَيِّتٍ ۖ وَمِن وَرَائِهِ عَذَابٌ غَلِيظٌйəтəджəррō'уhу вəлəə йəкəəду йусииґуhу вəйə`тииhиль-мəуту миŋŋ-кулли мəкəəниу-вəмəə hувə бимəййит, вəмиу-вəрōō`иhи 'əз̃əəбун ґōлииз̃
gulping it down, but hardly swallowing it: death will assail him from every side, but he will not die, and there is [yet] a harsh punishment ahead of him. -
14:18
مَّثَلُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ ۖ أَعْمَالُهُمْ كَرَمَادٍ اشْتَدَّتْ بِهِ الرِّيحُ فِي يَوْمٍ عَاصِفٍ ۖ لَّا يَقْدِرُونَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا عَلَىٰ شَيْءٍ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الضَّلَالُ الْبَعِيدُмəc̃əлюль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу бирōббиhим, ə'мəəлюhум кəрōмəəдин-штəддəт биhир-рииhу фии йəумин 'əəсыф, лəə йəќдируунə миммəə кəсəбуу 'əлəə шэй, з̃əəликə hувəд-дōлəəлюль-бə'иид
A parable of those who defy their Lord: their deeds are like ashes over which the wind blows hard on a tempestuous day: they have no power over anything they have earned. That is extreme error.
