40:37
أَسْبَابَ السَّمَاوَاتِ فَأَطَّلِعَ إِلَىٰ إِلَـٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّي لَأَظُنُّهُ كَاذِبًا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِفِرْعَوْنَ سُوءُ عَمَلِهِ وَصُدَّ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ ۚ وَمَا كَيْدُ فِرْعَوْنَ إِلَّا فِي تَبَابٍəсбəəбəс-сəмəəвəəти фə`əттōли'ə илəə илəəhи муусəə вə`иннии лə`əз̃уннуhу кəəз̃ибə, вəкəз̃əəликə зуййинə лифир'əунə суу`у 'əмəлиhи вəсуддə 'əнис-сəбииль, вəмəə кəйду фир'əунə ильлəə фии тəбəəб
—the routes of the heavens—and take a look at the God of Moses, and indeed I consider him a liar.’ The evil of his conduct was thus presented as decorous to Pharaoh, and he was kept from the way [of Allah]. Pharaoh’s stratagems only led him into ruin. -
40:39
يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّمَا هَـٰذِهِ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا مَتَاعٌ وَإِنَّ الْآخِرَةَ هِيَ دَارُ الْقَرَارِйəə ќōуми иннəмəə həəз̃иhиль-həйəəтуд-дунйəə мəтəə'уу-вə`иннəль-əəхырōтə hийə дəəруль-ќōрōōр
O my people! This life of the world is only a [passing] enjoyment, and indeed the Hereafter is the abiding home. -
40:40
مَنْ عَمِلَ سَيِّئَةً فَلَا يُجْزَىٰ إِلَّا مِثْلَهَا ۖ وَمَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ يُرْزَقُونَ فِيهَا بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍмəн 'əмилə сəййи`əтəн фəлəə йуджзəə ильлəə миc̃лəhəə, вəмəн 'əмилə сōōлиhəмм-миŋŋ-з̃əкəрин əу уŋŋc̃əə вəhувə му`минун фə`уулəə`икə йəдхулююнəль-джəннəтə йурзəќуунə фииhəə биґōйри hисəəб
Whoever commits a misdeed shall not be requited except with its like, but whoever acts righteously, whether male or female, should he be faithful—such shall enter paradise, and they will be provided therein without any reckoning. -
40:42
تَدْعُونَنِي لِأَكْفُرَ بِاللَّهِ وَأُشْرِكَ بِهِ مَا لَيْسَ لِي بِهِ عِلْمٌ وَأَنَا أَدْعُوكُمْ إِلَى الْعَزِيزِ الْغَفَّارِтəд'уунəнии ли`əкфурō биль-лəhи вə`ушрикə биhи мəə лэйсə лии биhи 'ильмуу-вə`əнəə əд'уукум илəəль-'əзиизиль-ґōффəəр
You invite me to defy Allah and to ascribe to Him partners of which I have no knowledge, while I call you to the All-mighty, the All-forgiver. -
40:43
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّمَا تَدْعُونَنِي إِلَيْهِ لَيْسَ لَهُ دَعْوَةٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَلَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ مَرَدَّنَا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَأَنَّ الْمُسْرِفِينَ هُمْ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِлəə джəрōмə əннəмəə тəд'уунəнии илəйhи лэйсə лəhу дə'вəтун фиид-дунйəə вəлəə фииль-əəхырōти вə`əннə мəрōддəнəə илəл-лаhи вə`əннəль-мусрифиинə hум əсhəəбун-нəəр
Undoubtedly, that to which you invite me has no invitation in the world nor in the Hereafter, and indeed our return will be to Allah, and indeed it is the transgressors who will be inmates of the Fire. -
40:44
فَسَتَذْكُرُونَ مَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ ۚ وَأُفَوِّضُ أَمْرِي إِلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بَصِيرٌ بِالْعِبَادِфəсəтəз̃куруунə мəə əќуулю лəкум, вə`уфəувиду əмрии илəл-лаh, иннəл-лаhə бəсыырумм-би-ль-'ибəəд
Soon you will remember what I tell you, and I entrust my affair to Allah. Indeed Allah watches His servants.’ -
40:46
النَّارُ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَيْهَا غُدُوًّا وَعَشِيًّا ۖ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ أَدْخِلُوا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَشَدَّ الْعَذَابِəннəəру йу'рōдуунə 'əлэйhəə ґудуувəу-вə'əшиййə, вəйəумə тəќуумус-сəə'əту əдхылюю əəлə фир'əунə əшəддəль-'əз̃əəб
the Fire, to which they are exposed morning and evening. On the day when the Hour sets in, Pharaoh’s clan will enter the severest punishment. -
40:47
وَإِذْ يَتَحَاجُّونَ فِي النَّارِ فَيَقُولُ الضُّعَفَاءُ لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّغْنُونَ عَنَّا نَصِيبًا مِّنَ النَّارِвə`из̃ йəтəhəəджджуунə фиин-нəəри фəйəќуулюд-ду'əфəə`у лильлəз̃иинə-стəкбəруу иннəə куннəə лəкум тəбə'əн фəhəль əŋŋтум-муґнуунə 'əннəə нəсыыбəмм-минəн-нəəр
When they argue in the Fire, the oppressed will say to the oppressors, ‘We used to follow you; will you avail us against any portion of the Fire?’ -
40:49
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ فِي النَّارِ لِخَزَنَةِ جَهَنَّمَ ادْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ يُخَفِّفْ عَنَّا يَوْمًا مِّنَ الْعَذَابِвəќōōлəль-лəз̃иинə фиин-нəəри лихōзəнəти джəhəннəмə-д'уу рōббəкум йухōффиф 'əннəə йəумəмм-минəль-'əз̃əəб
Those who are in the Fire will say to the keepers of hell, ‘Invoke your Lord to lighten for us [at least] a day’s punishment.’ -
40:50
قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ تَكُ تَأْتِيكُمْ رُسُلُكُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ ۖ قَالُوا بَلَىٰ ۚ قَالُوا فَادْعُوا ۗ وَمَا دُعَاءُ الْكَافِرِينَ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍќōōлюю əвəлəм тəку тə`тиикум русулюкумм-би-ль-бэййинəəт, ќōōлюю бəлəə, ќōōлюю фəəд'уу, вəмəə ду'əə`уль-кəəфириинə ильлəə фии дōлəəль
They will say, ‘Had not your apostles brought you manifest proofs?’ They will say, ‘Yes.’ They will say, ‘Then invoke [Him] yourselves.’ But the invocations of the faithless only go awry. -
40:51
إِنَّا لَنَنصُرُ رُسُلَنَا وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَيَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْأَشْهَادُиннəə лəнəŋŋсуру русулəнəə вəəльлəз̃иинə əəмəнуу фииль-həйəəтид-дунйəə вəйəумə йəќуумуль-əшhəəд
Indeed We shall help Our apostles and those who have faith in the life of the world and on the day when the witnesses rise up, -
40:52
يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ الظَّالِمِينَ مَعْذِرَتُهُمْ ۖ وَلَهُمُ اللَّعْنَةُ وَلَهُمْ سُوءُ الدَّارِйəумə лəə йəŋŋфə'уз̃-з̃ōōлимиинə мə'з̃ирōтуhум, вəлəhумуль-лə'нəту вəлəhум суу`уд-дəəр
the day when the excuses of the wrongdoers will not benefit them, the curse will lie on them, and for them will be the ills of the [ultimate] abode. -
40:55
فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنبِكَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالْإِبْكَارِфəəсбир иннə вə'дəл-лаhи həќќуу-вəəстəґфир лиз̃əмм-бикə вəсəббиh биhəмди рōббикə би-ль-'əшиййи вəəль`ибкəəр
So be patient! Allah’s promise is indeed true. Plead [Allah] for forgiveness of your sin, and celebrate the praise of your Lord morning and evening. -
40:56
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَانٍ أَتَاهُمْ ۙ إِن فِي صُدُورِهِمْ إِلَّا كِبْرٌ مَّا هُم بِبَالِغِيهِ ۚ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُиннəль-лəз̃иинə йуджəəдилююнə фии əəйəəтиль-лəhи биґōйри сультōōнин əтəəhум иŋŋ-фии судууриhим ильлəə кибрумм-мəə hумм-бибəəлиґииh, фəəстə'из̃ биль-лəh, иннəhу hувəс-сəмии'уль-бəсыыр
Indeed those who dispute the signs of Allah without any authority that may have come to them—there is [an ambition for] greatness in their breasts, which they will never attain. So seek the protection of Allah; indeed, He is the All-hearing, the All-seeing.
