8:23
وَلَوْ عَلِمَ اللَّهُ فِيهِمْ خَيْرًا لَّأَسْمَعَهُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ أَسْمَعَهُمْ لَتَوَلَّوا وَّهُم مُّعْرِضُونَвəлəу 'əлимəл-лаhу фииhим хōйрōль-лə`əсмə'əhум, вəлəу əсмə'əhум лəтəвəльлəу-вəhум-му'ридуун
Had Allah known any good in them, He would have surely made them hear, and were He to make them hear, surely they would turn away, being disregardful. -
8:24
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ ۖ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَحُولُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِ وَأَنَّهُ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу-стəджиибуу лильлəhи вəлир-рōсуули из̃əə дə'əəкум лимəə йуhйиикум, вəə'лəмуу əннəл-лаhə йəhуулю бэйнəль-мəр`и вəќōльбиhи вə`əннəhу илəйhи туhшəруун
O you who have faith! Answer Allah and the Apostle when he summons you to that which will give you life. Know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that toward Him you will be mustered. -
8:25
وَاتَّقُوا فِتْنَةً لَّا تُصِيبَنَّ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنكُمْ خَاصَّةً ۖ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِвəəттəќуу фитнəтəль-лəə тусыыбəннəль-лəз̃иинə з̃ōлəмуу миŋŋкум хōōссōh, вəə'лəмуу əннəл-лаhə шəдиидуль-'иќōōб
And beware of a punishment, which shall not visit the wrongdoers among you exclusively, and know that Allah is severe in retribution. -
8:26
وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ أَنتُمْ قَلِيلٌ مُّسْتَضْعَفُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ تَخَافُونَ أَن يَتَخَطَّفَكُمُ النَّاسُ فَآوَاكُمْ وَأَيَّدَكُم بِنَصْرِهِ وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَвəəз̃куруу из̃ əŋŋтум ќōлиилюмм-мустəд'əфуунə фииль-əрды тəхōōфуунə əй-йəтəхōттōфəкумун-нəəсу фə`əəвəəкум вə`əййəдəкумм-бинəсриhи вəрōзəќōкум-минəт-тōййибəəти лə'əльлəкум тəшкуруун
Remember when you were few, abased in the land, and feared lest the people should despoil you, and He gave you refuge, and strengthened you with His help, and provided you with all the good things so that you may give thanks. -
8:27
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَخُونُوا اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ وَتَخُونُوا أَمَانَاتِكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу лəə тəхуунуул-лаhə вəр-рōсуулə вəтəхуунуу əмəəнəəтикум вə`əŋŋтум тə'лəмуун
O you who have faith! Do not betray Allah and the Apostle, and do not betray your trusts knowingly. -
8:28
وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ عِندَهُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌвəə'лəмуу əннəмəə əмвəəлюкум вə`əулəəдукум фитнəтуу-вə`əннəл-лаhə 'иŋŋдəhу əджрун 'əз̃ыым
Know that your possessions and children are only a test, and that Allah—with Him is a great reward. -
8:29
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن تَتَّقُوا اللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّكُمْ فُرْقَانًا وَيُكَفِّرْ عَنكُمْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу иŋŋ-тəттəќуул-лаhə йəдж'əль-лəкум фурќōōнəу-вəйукəффир 'əŋŋкум сəййи`əəтикум вəйəґфир лəкум, вəл-лаhу з̃ууль-фəдлиль-'əз̃ыым
O you who have faith! If you are wary of Allah, He shall appoint a criterion for you, and absolve you of your misdeeds, and forgive you, for Allah is dispenser of a great grace. -
8:30
وَإِذْ يَمْكُرُ بِكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِيُثْبِتُوكَ أَوْ يَقْتُلُوكَ أَوْ يُخْرِجُوكَ ۚ وَيَمْكُرُونَ وَيَمْكُرُ اللَّهُ ۖ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ الْمَاكِرِينَвə`из̃ йəмкуру бикəль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу лийуc̃битуукə əу йəќтулююкə əу йухриджуук, вəйəмкуруунə вəйəмкурул-лаh, вəл-лаhу хōйруль-мəəкириин
When the faithless plotted against you to take you captive, or to kill or expel you—they plotted and Allah devised, and Allah is the best of devisers. -
8:31
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا قَالُوا قَدْ سَمِعْنَا لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَقُلْنَا مِثْلَ هَـٰذَا ۙ إِنْ هَـٰذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَвə`из̃əə тутлəə 'əлэйhим əəйəəтунəə ќōōлюю ќōд сəми'нəə лəу нəшəə`у лəќульнəə миc̃лə həəз̃əə ин həəз̃əə ильлəə əсəəтыыруль-əувəлиин
When Our signs are recited to them, they say, ‘We have heard already. If we want, we [too] can say like this. These are nothing but myths of the ancients.’ -
8:32
وَإِذْ قَالُوا اللَّهُمَّ إِن كَانَ هَـٰذَا هُوَ الْحَقَّ مِنْ عِندِكَ فَأَمْطِرْ عَلَيْنَا حِجَارَةً مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ أَوِ ائْتِنَا بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍвə`из̃ ќōōлююл-лаhуммə иŋŋ-кəəнə həəз̃əə hувəль-həќќō мин 'иŋŋдикə фə`əмтыр 'əлэйнəə hиджəəрōтəмм-минəс-сəмəə`и əви-тинəə би'əз̃əəбин əлиим
And when they said, ‘O Allah, if this be the truth from You, rain down upon us stones from the sky, or bring us a painful punishment.’ -
8:33
وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَأَنتَ فِيهِمْ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ مُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَهُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَвəмəə кəəнəл-лаhу лийу'əз̃з̃ибəhум вə`əŋŋтə фииhим, вəмəə кəəнəл-лаhу му'əз̃з̃ибəhум вəhум йəстəґфируун
But Allah will not punish them while you are in their midst, nor will Allah punish them while they plead for forgiveness. -
8:34
وَمَا لَهُمْ أَلَّا يُعَذِّبَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَمَا كَانُوا أَوْلِيَاءَهُ ۚ إِنْ أَوْلِيَاؤُهُ إِلَّا الْمُتَّقُونَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَвəмəə лəhум əльлəə йу'əз̃з̃ибəhумул-лаhу вəhум йəсуддуунə 'əниль-мəсджидиль-həрōōми вəмəə кəəнуу əулийəə`əh, ин əулийəə`уhу ильлəəль-муттəќуунə вəлəəкиннə əкc̃əрōhум лəə йə'лəмуун
What [excuse] have they that Allah should not punish them, when they bar [the faithful] from the Holy Mosque, and they are not its custodians? Its custodians are only the Godwary, but most of them do not know. -
8:35
وَمَا كَانَ صَلَاتُهُمْ عِندَ الْبَيْتِ إِلَّا مُكَاءً وَتَصْدِيَةً ۚ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَвəмəə кəəнə сōлəəтуhум 'иŋŋдəль-бэйти ильлəə мукəə`əу-вəтəсдийəh, фəз̃ууќууль-'əз̃əəбə бимəə куŋŋтум тəкфуруун
Their prayer at the House is nothing but whistling and clapping. So taste the punishment because of what you used to defy. -
8:36
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ لِيَصُدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ فَسَيُنفِقُونَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسْرَةً ثُمَّ يُغْلَبُونَ ۗ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ يُحْشَرُونَиннəль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу йуŋŋфиќуунə əмвəəлəhум лийəсуддуу 'əŋŋ-сəбиилиль-лəh, фəсəйуŋŋфиќуунəhəə c̃уммə тəкууну 'əлэйhим həсрōтəн c̃уммə йуґлəбуун, вəəльлəз̃иинə кəфəруу илəə джəhəннəмə йуhшəруун
Indeed the faithless spend their wealth to bar from the way of Allah. Soon they will have spent it, then it will be a cause of regret to them, then they will be overcome, and the faithless will be gathered toward Hell, -
8:37
لِيَمِيزَ اللَّهُ الْخَبِيثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ وَيَجْعَلَ الْخَبِيثَ بَعْضَهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فَيَرْكُمَهُ جَمِيعًا فَيَجْعَلَهُ فِي جَهَنَّمَ ۚ أُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَлийəмиизəл-лаhуль-хōбииc̃ə минəт-тōййиби вəйəдж'əлəль-хōбииc̃ə бə'дōhу 'əлəə бə'дын фəйəркумəhу джəмии'əн фəйəдж'əлəhу фии джəhəннəм, уулəə`икə hумуль-хōōсируун
so that Allah may separate the bad ones from the good, and place the bad on one another, and pile them up together, and cast them into hell. It is they who are the losers. -
8:38
قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِن يَنتَهُوا يُغْفَرْ لَهُم مَّا قَدْ سَلَفَ وَإِن يَعُودُوا فَقَدْ مَضَتْ سُنَّتُ الْأَوَّلِينَќул-лильлəз̃иинə кəфəруу ий-йəŋŋтəhуу йуґфəр лəhум-мəə ќōд сəлəфə вə`ий-йə'уудуу фəќōд мəдōт суннəтуль-əувəлиин
Say to the faithless, if they cease [their belligerence against the Muslims], what is already past shall be forgiven them. But if they resume [their hostilities], then the precedent of the predecessors has already come to pass. -
8:39
وَقَاتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّىٰ لَا تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ وَيَكُونَ الدِّينُ كُلُّهُ لِلَّهِ ۚ فَإِنِ انتَهَوْا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌвəќōōтилююhум həттəə лəə тəкуунə фитнəтуу-вəйəкуунəд-диину куллюhу лильлəh, фə`ини-ŋŋтəhəу фə`иннəл-лаhə бимəə йə'мəлююнə бəсыыр
Fight them until persecution is no more, and religion becomes exclusively for Allah. So if they desist, Allah indeed watches what they do.
