3:67
مَا كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَهُودِيًّا وَلَا نَصْرَانِيًّا وَلَـٰكِن كَانَ حَنِيفًا مُّسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَмəə кəəнə ибрōōhииму йəhуудиййəу-вəлəə нəсрōōниййəу-вəлəəкиŋŋ-кəəнə həниифəмм-муслимəу-вəмəə кəəнə минəль-мушрикиин
Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian. Rather, he was a Hanif, a Muslim, and he was not one of the polytheists. -
3:68
إِنَّ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِإِبْرَاهِيمَ لَلَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ وَهَـٰذَا النَّبِيُّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ۗ وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَиннə əулəəн-нəəси би`ибрōōhиимə лəльлəз̃иинə-ттəбə'ууhу вəhəəз̃əəн-нəбиййу вəəльлəз̃иинə əəмəнуу, вəл-лаhу вəлиййуль-му`миниин
Indeed the nearest of all people to Abraham are those who follow him and this prophet and those who have faith, and Allah is the guardian of the faithful. -
3:69
وَدَّت طَّائِفَةٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ لَوْ يُضِلُّونَكُمْ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّا أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَвəддəт-тōō`ифəтумм-мин əhлиль-китəəби лəу йудыллююнəкум вəмəə йудыллююнə ильлəə əŋŋфусəhум вəмəə йəш'уруун
A group of the People of the Book were eager to lead you astray; yet they lead no one astray except themselves, but they are not aware. -
3:71
يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَйəə əhлəль-китəəби лимə тəльбисуунəль-həќќō би-ль-бəəтыли вəтəктумуунəль-həќќō вə`əŋŋтум тə'лəмуун
O People of the Book! Why do you mix the truth with falsehood, and conceal the truth while you know [it]? -
3:72
وَقَالَت طَّائِفَةٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ آمِنُوا بِالَّذِي أُنزِلَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَجْهَ النَّهَارِ وَاكْفُرُوا آخِرَهُ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَвəќōōлəт-тōō`ифəтумм-мин əhлиль-китəəби əəминуу бильлəз̃ии уŋŋзилə 'əлəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу вəджhəн-нəhəəри вəəкфуруу əəхырōhу лə'əльлəhум йəрджи'уун
A group of the People of the Book say, ‘Believe in what has been sent down to the faithful at the beginning of the day, and disbelieve at its end, so that they may turn back [from their religion].’ -
3:73
وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوا إِلَّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ الْهُدَىٰ هُدَى اللَّهِ أَن يُؤْتَىٰ أَحَدٌ مِّثْلَ مَا أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَاجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ الْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌвəлəə ту`минуу ильлəə лимəŋŋ-тəби'ə диинəкум ќуль иннəль-hудəə hудəл-лаhи əй-йу`тəə əhəдумм-миc̃лə мəə уутиитум əу йуhəəджджуукум 'иŋŋдə рōббикум, ќуль иннəль-фəдлə бийəдиль-лəhи йу`тииhи мəй-йəшəə, вəл-лаhу вəəси'ун 'əлиим
And [they say,] ‘Do not believe anyone except him who follows your religion.’ Say, ‘Indeed [true] guidance is the guidance of Allah.’ [They also say.] ‘[Do not believe] that anyone may be given the like of what you were given, or that he may argue with you before your Lord.’ Say, ‘Indeed all grace is in Allah’s hand; He grants it to whomever He wishes, and Allah is all-bounteous, all-knowing. -
3:75
۞ وَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مَنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍ لَّا يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَائِمًا ۗ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِي الْأُمِّيِّينَ سَبِيلٌ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَвəмин əhлиль-китəəби мəн иŋŋ-тə`мəнhу биќиŋŋтōōрий-йу`əддиhи илəйкə вəминhум-мəн иŋŋ-тə`мəнhу бидиинəəриль-лəə йу`əддиhи илəйкə ильлəə мəə думтə 'əлэйhи ќōō`имə, з̃əəликə би`əннəhум ќōōлюю лэйсə 'əлэйнəə фииль-уммиййиинə сəбиилюу-вəйəќуулююнə 'əлəл-лаhиль-кəз̃ибə вəhум йə'лəмуун
Among the People of the Book is he who if you entrust him with a quintal will repay it to you, and among them is he who, if you entrust him with a dinar will not repay it to you unless you stand persistently over him. That is because they say, ‘We have no obligation to the non-Jews.’ But they attribute lies to Allah, and they know [it]. -
3:77
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُولَـٰئِكَ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلَا يَنظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌиннəль-лəз̃иинə йəштəруунə би'əhдиль-лəhи вə`əймəəниhим c̃əмəнəн ќōлиилəн уулəə`икə лəə хōлəəќō лəhум фииль-əəхырōти вəлəə йукəллимуhумул-лаhу вəлəə йəŋŋз̃уру илəйhим йəумəль-ќийəəмəти вəлəə йузəккииhим вəлəhум 'əз̃əəбун əлиим
There shall be no share in the Hereafter for those who sell Allah’s covenant and their oaths for a paltry gain, and on the Day of Resurrection Allah will not speak to them nor will He [so much as] look at them, nor will He purify them, and there is a painful punishment for them. -
3:78
وَإِنَّ مِنْهُمْ لَفَرِيقًا يَلْوُونَ أَلْسِنَتَهُم بِالْكِتَابِ لِتَحْسَبُوهُ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَвə`иннə минhум лəфəрииќōй-йəльвуунə əльсинəтəhумм-би-ль-китəəби литəhсəбууhу минəль-китəəби вəмəə hувə минəль-китəəби вəйəќуулююнə hувə мин 'иŋŋдиль-лəhи вəмəə hувə мин 'иŋŋдиль-лəhи вəйəќуулююнə 'əлəл-лаhиль-кəз̃ибə вəhум йə'лəмуун
There is a group of them who alter their voice while reading out a text [that they have themselves authored], so that you may suppose it to be from the Book, though it is not from the Book, and they say, ‘It is from Allah,’ though it is not from Allah, and they attribute lies to Allah, and they know [it]. -
3:79
مَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُؤْتِيَهُ اللَّهُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحُكْمَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ ثُمَّ يَقُولَ لِلنَّاسِ كُونُوا عِبَادًا لِّي مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلَـٰكِن كُونُوا رَبَّانِيِّينَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تُعَلِّمُونَ الْكِتَابَ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَدْرُسُونَмəə кəəнə либəшəрин əй-йу`тийəhул-лаhуль-китəəбə вəəльhукмə вəн-нубуувəтə c̃уммə йəќуулə лин-нəəси куунуу 'ибəəдəл-лии миŋŋ-дууниль-лəhи вəлəəкиŋŋ-куунуу рōббəəниййиинə бимəə куŋŋтум ту'əллимуунəль-китəəбə вəбимəə куŋŋтум тəдрусуун
It does not behoove any human that Allah should give him the Book, judgement and prophethood, and then he should say to the people, ‘Be my servants instead of Allah.’ Rather [he would say], ‘Be a godly people, because of your teaching the Book and because of your studying it.’ -
3:80
وَلَا يَأْمُرَكُمْ أَن تَتَّخِذُوا الْمَلَائِكَةَ وَالنَّبِيِّينَ أَرْبَابًا ۗ أَيَأْمُرُكُم بِالْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَвəлəə йə`мурōкум əŋŋ-тəттəхыз̃ууль-мəлəə`икəтə вəн-нəбиййиинə əрбəəбə, əйə`мурукумм-би-ль-куфри бə'дə из̃ əŋŋтум-муслимуун
And he would not command you to take the angels and the prophets for lords. Would he call you to unfaith after you have submitted [to Allah]? -
3:81
وَإِذْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ النَّبِيِّينَ لَمَا آتَيْتُكُم مِّن كِتَابٍ وَحِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُ ۚ قَالَ أَأَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذْتُمْ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ إِصْرِي ۖ قَالُوا أَقْرَرْنَا ۚ قَالَ فَاشْهَدُوا وَأَنَا مَعَكُم مِّنَ الشَّاهِدِينَвə`из̃ əхōз̃əл-лаhу мииc̃əəќōн-нəбиййиинə лəмəə əəтəйтукум-миŋŋ-китəəбиу-вəhикмəтин c̃уммə джəə`əкум рōсуулюмм-мусōддиќул-лимəə мə'əкум лəту`минуннə биhи вəлəтəŋŋсуруннəh, ќōōлə ə`əќрōртум вə`əхōз̃тум 'əлəə з̃əəликум исрий, ќōōлюю əќрōрнəə, ќōōлə фəəшhəдуу вə`əнəə мə'əкум-минəш-шəəhидиин
When Allah took a compact concerning the prophets, [He said,] ‘Inasmuch as I have given you [the knowledge] of the Book and wisdom, should an apostle come to you thereafter confirming what is with you, you shall believe in him and help him.’ He said, ‘Do you pledge and accept My covenant on this condition?’ They said, ‘We pledge.’ He said, ‘Then be witnesses, and I, too, am among the witnesses along with you.’ -
3:83
أَفَغَيْرَ دِينِ اللَّهِ يَبْغُونَ وَلَهُ أَسْلَمَ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَكَرْهًا وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَəфəґōйрō дииниль-лəhи йəбґуунə вəлəhу əслəмə мəŋŋ-фиис-сəмəəвəəти вəəль`əрды тōу'əу-вəкəрhəу-вə`илəйhи йурджə'уун
Do they seek a religion other than that of Allah, while to Him submits whoever there is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him they will be brought back? -
3:84
قُلْ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنزِلَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالْأَسْبَاطِ وَمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَالنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَќуль əəмəннəə биль-лəhи вəмəə уŋŋзилə 'əлэйнəə вəмəə уŋŋзилə 'əлəə ибрōōhиимə вə`исмəə'иилə вə`исhəəќō вəйə'ќуубə вəəль`əсбəəты вəмəə уутийə муусəə вə'иисəə вəн-нəбиййуунə мир-рōббиhим лəə нуфəрриќу бэйнə əhəдимм-минhум вəнəhну лəhу муслимуун
Say, ‘We have faith in Allah and in what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, and that which Moses, Jesus and the prophets were given by their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him do we submit.’ -
3:85
وَمَن يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَвəмəй-йəбтəґи ґōйрōль-ислəəми диинəн фəлэй-йуќбəлə минhу вəhувə фииль-əəхырōти минəль-хōōсириин
Should anyone follow a religion other than Islam, it shall never be accepted from him, and he will be among the losers in the Hereafter. -
3:86
كَيْفَ يَهْدِي اللَّهُ قَوْمًا كَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِيمَانِهِمْ وَشَهِدُوا أَنَّ الرَّسُولَ حَقٌّ وَجَاءَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَкəйфə йəhдиил-лаhу ќōумəн кəфəруу бə'дə иимəəниhим вəшəhидуу əннəр-рōсуулə həќќуу-вəджəə`əhумуль-бэййинəəт, вəл-лаhу лəə йəhдииль-ќōумəз̃-з̃ōōлимиин
How shall Allah guide a people who have disbelieved after their faith and [after] bearing witness that the Apostle is true, and [after] manifest proofs had come to them? Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot.
