39:15
فَاعْبُدُوا مَا شِئْتُم مِّن دُونِهِ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ الْخَاسِرِينَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ أَلَا ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْخُسْرَانُ الْمُبِينُфəə'будуу мəə ши`тум-миŋŋ-дууниh, ќуль иннəль-хōōсириинəль-лəз̃иинə хōсируу əŋŋфусəhум вə`əhлииhим йəумəль-ќийəəмəh, əлəə з̃əəликə hувəль-хусрōōнуль-мубиин
You worship whatever you wish besides Him.’ Say, ‘The losers are those who ruin themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection.’ Indeed, that is a manifest loss! -
39:16
لَهُم مِّن فَوْقِهِمْ ظُلَلٌ مِّنَ النَّارِ وَمِن تَحْتِهِمْ ظُلَلٌ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يُخَوِّفُ اللَّهُ بِهِ عِبَادَهُ ۚ يَا عِبَادِ فَاتَّقُونِлəhум-миŋŋ-фəуќиhим з̃улəлюмм-минəн-нəəри вəмиŋŋ-тəhтиhим з̃улəль, з̃əəликə йухōувифул-лаhу биhи 'ибəəдəh, йəə 'ибəəди фəəттəќуун
There will be canopies of fire above them, and [similar] canopies beneath them. With that Allah deters His servants. So, My servants, be wary of Me! -
39:17
وَالَّذِينَ اجْتَنَبُوا الطَّاغُوتَ أَن يَعْبُدُوهَا وَأَنَابُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ لَهُمُ الْبُشْرَىٰ ۚ فَبَشِّرْ عِبَادِвəəльлəз̃иинə-джтəнəбуут-тōōґуутə əй-йə'будууhəə вə`əнəəбуу илəл-лаhи лəhумуль-бушрōō, фəбəшшир 'ибəəд
As for those who stay clear of the worship of fake deities and turn penitently to Allah, there is good news for them. So give good news to My servants -
39:18
الَّذِينَ يَسْتَمِعُونَ الْقَوْلَ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ أَحْسَنَهُ ۚ أُولَـٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ هَدَاهُمُ اللَّهُ ۖ وَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمْ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِəльлəз̃иинə йəстəми'уунəль-ќōулə фəйəттəби'уунə əhсəнəh, уулəə`икəль-лəз̃иинə həдəəhумул-лаh, вə`уулəə`икə hум уулююль-əльбəəб
who listen to the word [of Allah] and follow the best [interpretation] of it. They are the ones whom Allah has guided, and it is they who possess intellect. -
39:20
لَـٰكِنِ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا رَبَّهُمْ لَهُمْ غُرَفٌ مِّن فَوْقِهَا غُرَفٌ مَّبْنِيَّةٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۖ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ ۖ لَا يُخْلِفُ اللَّهُ الْمِيعَادَлəəкиниль-лəз̃иинə-ттəќōу рōббəhум лəhум ґурōфумм-миŋŋ-фəуќиhəə ґурōфумм-мəбниййəтун тəджрии миŋŋ-тəhтиhəəль-əнhəəр, вə'дəл-лаh, лəə йухлифул-лаhуль-мии'əəд
But as for those who are wary of their Lord, for them there will be lofty abodes with [other] lofty abodes built above them, with streams running beneath them—a promise of Allah. Allah does not break His promise. -
39:21
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَسَلَكَهُ يَنَابِيعَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُ بِهِ زَرْعًا مُّخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَانُهُ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَاهُ مُصْفَرًّا ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُهُ حُطَامًا ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِəлəм тəрō əннəл-лаhə əŋŋзəлə минəс-сəмəə`и мəə`əн фəсəлəкəhу йəнəəбии'ə фииль-əрды c̃уммə йухриджу биhи зəр'əмм-мухтəлифəн əльвəəнуhу c̃уммə йəhииджу фəтəрōōhу мусфəррōн c̃уммə йəдж'əлюhу hутōōмə, иннə фии з̃əəликə лəз̃икрōō ли`уулииль-əльбəəб
Have you not seen that Allah sends down water from the sky, then He conducts it through the ground as springs. Then He brings forth with it crops of diverse hues. Then they wither and you see them turn yellow. Then He turns them into chaff. There is indeed a lesson in that for those who possess intellect. -
39:22
أَفَمَن شَرَحَ اللَّهُ صَدْرَهُ لِلْإِسْلَامِ فَهُوَ عَلَىٰ نُورٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِ ۚ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْقَاسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مِّن ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ۚ أُولَـٰئِكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍəфəмəŋŋ-шəрōhəл-лаhу сōдрōhу ли-ль-ислəəми фəhувə 'əлəə нууримм-мир-рōббиh, фəвəйлюл-ли-ль-ќōōсийəти ќулююбуhум-миŋŋ-з̃икриль-лəh, уулəə`икə фии дōлəəлимм-мубиин
Is someone whose breast Allah has opened to Islam so that he follows a light from His Lord…? So woe to those whose hearts have been hardened to the remembrance of Allah. They are in manifest error. -
39:23
اللَّهُ نَزَّلَ أَحْسَنَ الْحَدِيثِ كِتَابًا مُّتَشَابِهًا مَّثَانِيَ تَقْشَعِرُّ مِنْهُ جُلُودُ الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ ثُمَّ تَلِينُ جُلُودُهُمْ وَقُلُوبُهُمْ إِلَىٰ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُدَى اللَّهِ يَهْدِي بِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ هَادٍаллаhу нəззəлə əhсəнəль-həдииc̃и китəəбəмм-мутəшəəбиhəмм-мəc̃əəнийə тəќшə'ирру минhу джулююдуль-лəз̃иинə йəхшəунə рōббəhум c̃уммə тəлиину джулююдуhум вəќулююбуhум илəə з̃икриль-лəh, з̃əəликə hудəл-лаhи йəhдии биhи мəй-йəшəə, вəмəй-йудлилиль-лəhу фəмəə лəhу мин həəд
Allah has sent down the best of discourses, a scripture [composed] of similar motifs, whereat shiver the skins of those who fear their Lord, then their skins and hearts relax at Allah’s remembrance. That is Allah’s guidance, by which He guides whomever He wishes; and whomever Allah leads astray, has no guide. -
39:24
أَفَمَن يَتَّقِي بِوَجْهِهِ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۚ وَقِيلَ لِلظَّالِمِينَ ذُوقُوا مَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَəфəмəй-йəттəќии бивəджhиhи суу`əль-'əз̃əəби йəумəль-ќийəəмəh, вəќиилə лиз̃-з̃ōōлимиинə з̃ууќуу мəə куŋŋтум тəксибуун
What! Is someone who fends off with his face the terrible punishment [meted out to him] on the Day of Resurrection…? And the wrongdoers will be told, ‘Taste what you used to earn.’ -
39:26
فَأَذَاقَهُمُ اللَّهُ الْخِزْيَ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَфə`əз̃əəќōhумул-лаhуль-хызйə фииль-həйəəтид-дунйəə, вəлə'əз̃əəбуль-əəхырōти əкбəр, лəу кəəнуу йə'лəмуун
So Allah made them taste disgrace in the life of the world, and the punishment of the Hereafter will surely be greater, if they knew. -
39:27
وَلَقَدْ ضَرَبْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِي هَـٰذَا الْقُرْآنِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَвəлəќōд дōрōбнəə лин-нəəси фии həəз̃əəль-ќур`əəни миŋŋ-кулли мəc̃əлиль-лə'əльлəhум йəтəз̃əккəруун
We have drawn for mankind in this Quran every [kind of] example, so that they may take admonition: -
39:29
ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا رَّجُلًا فِيهِ شُرَكَاءُ مُتَشَاكِسُونَ وَرَجُلًا سَلَمًا لِّرَجُلٍ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلًا ۚ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَдōрōбəл-лаhу мəc̃əлəр-рōджулəн фииhи шурōкəə`у мутəшəəкисуунə вəрōджулəн сəлəмəл-лирōджулин həль йəстəвийəəни мəc̃əлə, əльhəмду лильлəh, бəль əкc̃əруhум лəə йə'лəмуун
Allah draws an example: a man jointly owned by several contending masters, and a man belonging entirely to one man: are the two equal in comparison? All praise belongs to Allah! But most of them do not know.
