9:6
وَإِنْ أَحَدٌ مِّنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ اسْتَجَارَكَ فَأَجِرْهُ حَتَّىٰ يَسْمَعَ كَلَامَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ أَبْلِغْهُ مَأْمَنَهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَعْلَمُونَвə`ин əhəдумм-минəль-мушрикиинə-стəджəəрōкə фə`əджирhу həттəə йəсмə'ə кəлəəмəл-лаhи c̃уммə əблиґhу мə`мəнəh, з̃əəликə би`əннəhум ќōумуль-лəə йə'лəмуун
If any of the polytheists seeks asylum from you, grant him asylum until he hears the Word of Allah. Then convey him to his place of safety. That is because they are a people who do not know. -
9:7
كَيْفَ يَكُونُ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ عَهْدٌ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَعِندَ رَسُولِهِ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ عَاهَدتُّمْ عِندَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ ۖ فَمَا اسْتَقَامُوا لَكُمْ فَاسْتَقِيمُوا لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَّقِينَкəйфə йəкууну ли-ль-мушрикиинə 'əhдун 'иŋŋдəл-лаhи вə'иŋŋдə рōсуулиhи ильлəəль-лəз̃иинə 'əəhəттум 'иŋŋдəль-мəсджидиль-həрōōм, фəмəə-стəќōōмуу лəкум фəəстəќиимуу лəhум, иннəл-лаhə йуhиббуль-муттəќиин
How shall the polytheists have any [valid] treaty with Allah and His Apostle?! (Barring those with whom you made a treaty at the Holy Mosque; so long as they are steadfast with you, be steadfast with them. Indeed Allah loves the Godwary.) -
9:8
كَيْفَ وَإِن يَظْهَرُوا عَلَيْكُمْ لَا يَرْقُبُوا فِيكُمْ إِلًّا وَلَا ذِمَّةً ۚ يُرْضُونَكُم بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَتَأْبَىٰ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ فَاسِقُونَкəйфə вə`ий-йəз̃həруу 'əлэйкум лəə йəрќубуу фиикум ильлəу-вəлəə з̃иммəh, йурдуунəкумм-би`əфвəəhиhим вəтə`бəə ќулююбуhум вə`əкc̃əруhум фəəсиќуун
How? For if, they get the better of you, they will observe toward you neither kinship nor covenant. They please you with their mouths while their hearts spurn you; and most of them are transgressors. -
9:9
اشْتَرَوْا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا فَصَدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِهِ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ سَاءَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَиштəрōу би`əəйəəтиль-лəhи c̃əмəнəн ќōлиилəн фəсōддуу 'əŋŋ-сəбиилиh, иннəhум сəə`ə мəə кəəнуу йə'мəлююн
They have sold the signs of Allah for a paltry gain, and have barred [the people] from His way. Evil indeed is what they have been doing. -
9:11
فَإِن تَابُوا وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ فَإِخْوَانُكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ ۗ وَنُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَфə`иŋŋ-тəəбуу вə`əќōōмуус-сōлəəтə вə`əəтəвуз-зəкəəтə фə`ихвəəнукум фиид-диин, вəнуфəссылюль-əəйəəти лиќōумий-йə'лəмуун
Yet if they repent and maintain the prayer and give the zakat, then they are your brethren in faith. We elaborate the signs for a people who have knowledge. -
9:12
وَإِن نَّكَثُوا أَيْمَانَهُم مِّن بَعْدِ عَهْدِهِمْ وَطَعَنُوا فِي دِينِكُمْ فَقَاتِلُوا أَئِمَّةَ الْكُفْرِ ۙ إِنَّهُمْ لَا أَيْمَانَ لَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَنتَهُونَвə`ин-нəкəc̃уу əймəəнəhум-мимм-бə'ди 'əhдиhим вəтō'əнуу фии дииникум фəќōōтилюю ə`иммəтəль-куфри иннəhум лəə əймəəнə лəhум лə'əльлəhум йəŋŋтəhуун
But if they break their pledges after their having made a treaty and revile your religion, then fight the leaders of unfaith—indeed, they have no [commitment to] pledges,—maybe they will desist. -
9:13
أَلَا تُقَاتِلُونَ قَوْمًا نَّكَثُوا أَيْمَانَهُمْ وَهَمُّوا بِإِخْرَاجِ الرَّسُولِ وَهُم بَدَءُوكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ ۚ أَتَخْشَوْنَهُمْ ۚ فَاللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَن تَخْشَوْهُ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَəлəə туќōōтилююнə ќōумəн-ннəкəc̃уу əймəəнəhум вəhəммуу би`ихрōōджир-рōсуули вəhумм-бəдə`уукум əувəлə мəррōh, əтəхшəунəhум, фəл-лаhу əhəќќу əŋŋ-тəхшəуhу иŋŋ-куŋŋтум-му`миниин
Will you not make war on a people who broke their pledges and resolved to expel the Apostle, and opened [hostilities] against you initially? Do you fear them? But Allah is worthier of being feared by you, should you be faithful. -
9:14
قَاتِلُوهُمْ يُعَذِّبْهُمُ اللَّهُ بِأَيْدِيكُمْ وَيُخْزِهِمْ وَيَنصُرْكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيَشْفِ صُدُورَ قَوْمٍ مُّؤْمِنِينَќōōтилююhум йу'əз̃з̃ибhумул-лаhу би`əйдиикум вəйухзиhим вəйəŋŋсуркум 'əлэйhим вəйəшфи судуурō ќōумимм-му`миниин
Make war on them so that Allah may punish them by your hands and humiliate them, and help you against them, and heal the hearts of a faithful folk, -
9:15
وَيُذْهِبْ غَيْظَ قُلُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌвəйуз̃hиб ґōйз̃ō ќулююбиhим, вəйəтуубул-лаhу 'əлəə мəй-йəшəə, вəл-лаhу 'əлиимун həкиим
and remove rage from their hearts, and Allah turns clemently to whomever He wishes, and Allah is all-knowing, all-wise -
9:16
أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تُتْرَكُوا وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا مِنكُمْ وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلَا رَسُولِهِ وَلَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلِيجَةً ۚ وَاللَّهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَəм həсибтум əŋŋ-тутрōкуу вəлəммəə йə'лəмиль-лəhуль-лəз̃иинə джəəhəдуу миŋŋкум вəлəм йəттəхыз̃уу миŋŋ-дууниль-лəhи вəлəə рōсуулиhи вəлəəль-му`миниинə вəлииджəh, вəл-лаhу хōбиирумм-бимəə тə'мəлююн
Do you suppose that you will be let off while Allah has not yet ascertained those of you who wage jihad and those who do not take anyone as [their] confidant besides Allah and His Apostle and the faithful? Allah is well aware of what you do. -
9:17
مَا كَانَ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ أَن يَعْمُرُوا مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ شَاهِدِينَ عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِهِم بِالْكُفْرِ ۚ أُولَـٰئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ وَفِي النَّارِ هُمْ خَالِدُونَмəə кəəнə ли-ль-мушрикиинə əй-йə'муруу мəсəəджидəл-лаhи шəəhидиинə 'əлəə əŋŋфусиhимм-би-ль-куфр, уулəə`икə həбитōт ə'мəəлюhум вəфиин-нəəри hум хōōлидуун
The polytheists may not maintain Allah’s mosques while they are witness to their own unfaith. Their works have failed, and they shall remain in the Fire [forever]. -
9:18
إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَى الزَّكَاةَ وَلَمْ يَخْشَ إِلَّا اللَّهَ ۖ فَعَسَىٰ أُولَـٰئِكَ أَن يَكُونُوا مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِينَиннəмəə йə'муру мəсəəджидəл-лаhи мəн əəмəнə биль-лəhи вəəльйəумиль-əəхыри вə`əќōōмəс-сōлəəтə вə`əəтəəз-зəкəəтə вəлəм йəхшə ильлəл-лаh, фə'əсəə уулəə`икə əй-йəкуунуу минəль-муhтəдиин
Only those shall maintain Allah’s mosques who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and maintain the prayer, and give the zakat, and fear no one except Allah. They, hopefully, will be among the guided. -
9:19
۞ أَجَعَلْتُمْ سِقَايَةَ الْحَاجِّ وَعِمَارَةَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ كَمَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَجَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ لَا يَسْتَوُونَ عِندَ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَəджə'əльтум сиќōōйəтəль-həəджджи вə'имəəрōтəль-мəсджидиль-həрōōми кəмəн əəмəнə биль-лəhи вəəльйəумиль-əəхыри вəджəəhəдə фии сəбиилиль-лəh, лəə йəстəвуунə 'иŋŋдəл-лаh, вəл-лаhу лəə йəhдииль-ќōумəз̃-з̃ōōлимиин
Do you regard the providing of water to Hajj pilgrims and the maintenance of the Holy Mosque as similar [in worth] to someone who has faith in Allah and [believes in] the Last Day and wages jihad in the way of Allah? They are not equal with Allah, and Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot. -
9:20
الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَهَاجَرُوا وَجَاهَدُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ أَعْظَمُ دَرَجَةً عِندَ اللَّهِ ۚ وَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَəльлəз̃иинə əəмəнуу вəhəəджəруу вəджəəhəдуу фии сəбиилиль-лəhи би`əмвəəлиhим вə`əŋŋфусиhим ə'з̃ōму дəрōджəтəн 'иŋŋдəл-лаh, вə`уулəə`икə hумуль-фəə`изуун
Those who have believed and migrated, and waged jihad in the way of Allah with their possessions and persons have a greater rank near Allah, and it is they who are the triumphant. -
9:21
يُبَشِّرُهُمْ رَبُّهُم بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنْهُ وَرِضْوَانٍ وَجَنَّاتٍ لَّهُمْ فِيهَا نَعِيمٌ مُّقِيمٌйубəшшируhум рōббуhумм-бирōhмəтимм-минhу вəридвəəниу-вəджəннəəтиль-лəhум фииhəə нə'иимумм-муќиим
Their Lord gives them the good news of His mercy and [His] pleasure, and for them there will be gardens with lasting bliss, -
9:23
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا آبَاءَكُمْ وَإِخْوَانَكُمْ أَوْلِيَاءَ إِنِ اسْتَحَبُّوا الْكُفْرَ عَلَى الْإِيمَانِ ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُم مِّنكُمْ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу лəə тəттəхыз̃уу əəбəə`əкум вə`ихвəəнəкум əулийəə`ə ини-стəhəббууль-куфрō 'əлəəль-иимəəн, вəмəй-йəтəвəльлəhум-миŋŋкум фə`уулəə`икə hумуз̃-з̃ōōлимуун
O you who have faith! Do not befriend your fathers and brothers if they prefer faithlessness to faith. Those of you who befriend them—it is they who are the wrongdoers. -
9:24
قُلْ إِن كَانَ آبَاؤُكُمْ وَأَبْنَاؤُكُمْ وَإِخْوَانُكُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُكُمْ وَعَشِيرَتُكُمْ وَأَمْوَالٌ اقْتَرَفْتُمُوهَا وَتِجَارَةٌ تَخْشَوْنَ كَسَادَهَا وَمَسَاكِنُ تَرْضَوْنَهَا أَحَبَّ إِلَيْكُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَجِهَادٍ فِي سَبِيلِهِ فَتَرَبَّصُوا حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَ اللَّهُ بِأَمْرِهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِقِينَќуль иŋŋ-кəəнə əəбəə`укум вə`əбнəə`укум вə`ихвəəнукум вə`əзвəəджукум вə'əшиирōтукум вə`əмвəəлюн-ќтəрōфтумууhəə вəтиджəəрōтун тəхшəунə кəсəəдəhəə вəмəсəəкину тəрдōунəhəə əhəббə илəйкум-минəл-лаhи вəрōсуулиhи вəджиhəəдин фии сəбиилиhи фəтəрōббəсуу həттəə йə`тийəл-лаhу би`əмриh, вəл-лаhу лəə йəhдииль-ќōумəль-фəəсиќиин
Say, ‘If your fathers and your sons, your brethren, your spouses, and your kinsfolk, the possessions that you have acquired, the business you fear may suffer, and the dwellings you are fond of, are dearer to you than Allah and His Apostle and to waging jihad in His way, then wait until Allah issues His edict, and Allah does not guide the transgressing lot. -
9:25
لَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ فِي مَوَاطِنَ كَثِيرَةٍ ۙ وَيَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ ۙ إِذْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ كَثْرَتُكُمْ فَلَمْ تُغْنِ عَنكُمْ شَيْئًا وَضَاقَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الْأَرْضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتْ ثُمَّ وَلَّيْتُم مُّدْبِرِينَлəќōд нəсōрōкумул-лаhу фии мəвəəтынə кəc̃иирōтиу-вəйəумə hунəйнин из̃ ə'джəбəткум кəc̃рōтукум фəлəм туґни 'əŋŋкум шэй`əу-вəдōōќōт 'əлэйкумуль-əрду бимəə рōhубəт c̃уммə вəльлəйтум-мудбириин
Allah has certainly helped you in many situations, and on the day of Hunayn, when your great number impressed you, but it did not avail you in any way, and the earth became narrow for you in spite of its expanse, whereupon you turned your backs [to flee].
