  • بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

    бисмиль-лəhир-рōhмəəнир-рōhиим

    In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

  • 102:1
    أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ

    əльhəəкумут-тəкəəc̃ур

    Rivalry [and vainglory] distracted you

  • 102:2
    حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ

    həттəə зуртумуль-мəќōōбир

    until you visited [even] the graves.

  • 102:3
    كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ

    кəльлəə сəуфə тə'лəмуун

    No indeed, soon you will know!

    ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ

    c̃уммə кəльлəə сəуфə тə'лəмуун

    No indeed, soon you will know for yet another time!

    كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ الْيَقِينِ

    кəльлəə лəу тə'лəмуунə 'ильмəль-йəќиин

    Indeed, were you to know with certain knowledge,

    لَتَرَوُنَّ الْجَحِيمَ

    лəтəрōвуннəль-джəhиим

    you would have surely seen hell [in this very life].

    ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ الْيَقِينِ

    c̃уммə лəтəрōвуннəhəə 'əйнəль-йəќиин

    Afterward you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.

    ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ

    c̃уммə лəтус`əлюннə йəумə`из̃ин 'əнин-нə'иим

    Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned concerning the Blessing.
