surah084

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتْ١

из̃əə ссəмəə'у-ӈшəќќōт

When the sky is split open

وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ٢

вəəз̃инəт лирōббиhəə вəhуќќōт

and gives ear to its Lord as it should.

وَإِذَا ٱلْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ٣

вəиз̃əəль-əрду муддəт

When the earth is spread out

وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ٤

вəəльќōт мəə фииhəə вəтəхōльлəт

and throws out what is in it, emptying itself,

وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ٥

вəəз̃инəт лирōббиhəə вəhуќќōт

and gives ear to its Lord as it should.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَـٰقِيهِ٦

йəə əййуhəəль-иӈсəəну иннəкə кəəдиhун илəə рōббикə кəдhəн фəмулəəќииh

O man! You are labouring toward your Lord laboriously, and you will encounter Him.

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ٧

фəəммəə мəн уутийə китəəбəhу бийəмииниh

Then, as for him who is given his record [of deeds] in his right hand,

فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا٨

фəсəуфə йуhəəсəбу hисəəбəй-йəсиирō

he will receive an easy reckoning,

وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا٩

вəйəӈќōлибу илəə əhлиhи мəсруурō

and he will return to his folks joyfully.

وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهِۦ١٠

вəəммəə мəн уутийə китəəбəhу вəрōō'ə з̃ōhриh

But as for him who is given his record from behind his back,

فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُواْ ثُبُورًا١١

фəсəуфə йəд'уу c̃убуурō

he will pray for annihilation

وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا١٢

вəйəслəə сə'иирō

and enter the Blaze.

إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِىٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا١٣

иннəhу кəəнə фии əhлиhи мəсруурō

Indeed he used to be joyful among his folk,

إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ١٤

иннəhу з̃ōннə əль-лэй-йəhуур

and he thought that he would never return.

بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرًا١٥

бəлəə иннə рōббəhу кəəнə биhи бəсыырō

Yes, his Lord had been watching him.

فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ١٦

фəлəə уќсиму биш-шəфəќ

I swear by the evening glow,

وَٱلَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ١٧

вə льлэйли вəмəə вəсəќ

by the night and what it is fraught with,

وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ١٨

вəəльќōмəри из̃əə-ттəсəќ

by the moon when it blooms full:

لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ١٩

лəтəркəбуннə т̣ōбəќōн 'əӈ-т̣ōбəќ

you will surely fare from stage to stage.

فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ٢٠

фəмəə лəhум лəə йу'минуун

What is the matter with them that they will not believe,

وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ٢١

вəиз̃əə ќури'ə 'əлэйhимуль-ќур'əəну лəə йəсджудуун

and will not prostrate when the Quran is recited to them?

بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُكَذِّبُونَ٢٢

бəли льлəз̃иинə кəфəруу йукəз̃з̃ибуун

Indeed, the faithless impugn [the Apostle],

وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ٢٣

вə ллаhу ə'лəму бимəə йуу'уун

and Allah knows best what they keep to themselves.

فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ٢٤

фəбəшширhумм-би'əз̃əəбин əлиим

So inform them of a painful punishment,

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونِۭ٢٥

ильлəə льлəз̃иинə əəмəнуу вə'əмилюю ссōōлиhəəти лəhум əджрун ґōйру мəмнуун

excepting such as are faithful and do righteous deeds: for them there will be an everlasting reward.
