كٓهيعٓصٓ١

Каф, ха, йа, ʻайн, сад.

Kaf, Ha, Ya, ‘Ayn, Suad.

ذِكْرُ رَحْمَتِ رَبِّكَ عَبْدَهُۥ زَكَرِيَّآ٢

з̃икру рōhмəти рōббикə 'əбдəhу зəкəриййəə

[This is] an account of your Lord’s mercy on His servant, Zechariah,

إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ نِدَآءً خَفِيًّا٣

из̃ нəəдəə рōббəhу нидəə'əн хōфиййə

when he called out to his Lord with a secret cry.

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَهَنَ ٱلْعَظْمُ مِنِّى وَٱشْتَعَلَ ٱلرَّأْسُ شَيْبًا وَلَمْ أَكُنۢ بِدُعَآئِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّا٤

ќōōлə рōбби иннии вəhəнəль-'əз̃му миннии вəəштə'əлə ррōсу шэйбəу-вəлəм əкумм-биду'əə'икə рōбби шəќиййə

He said, ‘My Lord! Indeed my bones have become feeble, and my head has turned white with age, yet never have I, my Lord, been disappointed in supplicating You!

وَإِنِّى خِفْتُ ٱلْمَوَٲلِىَ مِن وَرَآءِى وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًا فَهَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّا٥

вəиннии хыфтуль-мəвəəлийə миу-вəрōō'ии вəкəəнəти-мрōəтии 'əəќирōн фəhəб лии миль-лəдуӈкə вəлиййə

Indeed I fear my kinsmen, after me, and my wife is barren. So grant me from Yourself an heir

يَرِثُنِى وَيَرِثُ مِنْ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَ‌ۖ وَٱجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّا٦

йəриc̃унии вəйəриc̃у мин əəли йə'ќууб, вəəдж'əльhу рōбби рōдыййə

who may inherit from me and inherit from the House of Jacob, and make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You]!’

يَـٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَـٰمٍ ٱسْمُهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ سَمِيًّا٧

йəə зəкəриййəə иннəə нубəшширукə биґулəəмин-смуhу йəhйəə лəм нəдж'əль-лəhу миӈ-ќōблю сəмиййə

‘O Zechariah! Indeed We give you the good news of a son, whose name is ‘‘John.’’ Never before have We made anyone his namesake.’

قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَـٰمٌ وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًا وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ ٱلْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّا٨

ќōōлə рōбби əннəə йəкууну лии ґулəəмуу-вəкəəнəти-мрōəтии 'əəќирōу-вəќōд бəлəґту минəль-кибəри 'итиййə

He said, ‘My Lord! How shall I have a son, when my wife is barren, and I am already advanced in age?’

قَالَ كَذَٲلِكَ قَالَ رَبُّكَ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌ وَقَدْ خَلَقْتُكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ تَكُ شَيْــًٔا٩

ќōōлə кəз̃əəликə ќōōлə рōббукə hувə 'əлэййə həййинуу-вəќōд хōлəќтукə миӈ-ќōблю вəлəм тəку шэй'ə

He said, ‘So shall it be. Your Lord has said, ‘‘It is simple for Me.’’ Certainly I created you before when you were nothing.’

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةً‌ۚ قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَـٰثَ لَيَالٍ سَوِيًّا١٠

ќōōлə рōбби-дж'əл-лии əəйəh, ќōōлə əəйəтукə əльлəə тукəллимə ннəəсə c̃əлəəc̃ə лəйəəлин сəвиййə

He said, ‘My Lord! Appoint a sign for me.’ He said, ‘Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three complete nights.’

فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْمِحْرَابِ فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِمْ أَن سَبِّحُواْ بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا١١

фəхōрōджə 'əлəə ќōумиhи минəль-миhрōōби фəəуhəə илəйhим əӈ-сəббиhуу букрōтəу-вə'əшиййə

So he emerged before his people from the Temple, and signalled to them that they should glorify [Allah] morning and evening.

يَـٰيَحْيَىٰ خُذِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ بِقُوَّةٍ‌ۖ وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّا١٢

йəə йəhйəə хуз̃иль-китəəбə биќуувəh, вə'əəтəйнəəhуль-hукмə сōбиййə

‘O John!’ [We said,] ‘Hold on with power to the Book!’ And We gave him judgement while still a child,

وَحَنَانًا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَزَكَوٲةً‌ۖ وَكَانَ تَقِيًّا١٣

вəhəнəəнəмм-миль-лəдуннəə вəзəкəəh, вəкəəнə тəќиййə

and a compassion and purity from Us. He was Godwary

وَبَرَّۢا بِوَٲلِدَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَكُن جَبَّارًا عَصِيًّا١٤

вəбəррōмм-бивəəлидəйhи вəлəм йəкуӈ-джəббəəрōн 'əсыййə

and good to his parents, and was not self-willed or disobedient.

وَسَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ وُلِدَ وَيَوْمَ يَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ يُبْعَثُ حَيًّا١٥

вəсəлəəмун 'əлэйhи йəумə вулидə вəйəумə йəмууту вəйəумə йуб'əc̃у həййə

Peace be to him, the day he was born, and the day he dies, and the day he is raised alive!

وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مَرْيَمَ إِذِ ٱنتَبَذَتْ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَانًا شَرْقِيًّا١٦

вəəз̃кур фииль-китəəби мəрйəмə из̃и-ӈтəбəз̃əт мин əhлиhəə мəкəəнəн шəрќиййə

And mention in the Book Mary, when she withdrew from her family to an easterly place.

فَٱتَّخَذَتْ مِن دُونِهِمْ حِجَابًا فَأَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرًا سَوِيًّا١٧

фəəттəхōз̃əт миӈ-дууниhим hиджəəбəн фəəрсəльнəə илəйhəə рууhəнəə фəтəмəc̃c̃əлə лəhəə бəшəрōн сəвиййə

Thus did she seclude herself from them, whereupon We sent to her Our Spirit and he became incarnate for her as a well-proportioned human.

قَالَتْ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مِنكَ إِن كُنتَ تَقِيًّا١٨

ќōōлəт иннии ə'ууз̃у биррōhмəəни миӈкə иӈ-куӈтə тəќиййə

She said, ‘I seek the protection of the All-beneficent from you, should you be Godwary!’

قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۟ رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَـٰمًا زَكِيًّا١٩

ќōōлə иннəмəə əнəə рōсуулю рōббики лиəhəбə лəки ґулəəмəн зəкиййə

He said, ‘I am only a messenger of your Lord that I may give you a pure son.’

قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَـٰمٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّا٢٠

ќōōлəт əннəə йəкууну лии ґулəəмуу-вəлəм йəмсəснии бəшəруу-вəлəм əку бəґиййə

She said, ‘How shall I have a child seeing that no human being has ever touched me, nor have I been unchaste?’

قَالَ كَذَٲلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌ‌ۖ وَلِنَجْعَلَهُۥٓ ءَايَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَرَحْمَةً مِّنَّا‌ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرًا مَّقْضِيًّا٢١

ќōōлə кəз̃əəлики ќōōлə рōббуки hувə 'əлэййə həййин, вəлинəдж'əлəhу əəйəтəл-лин-нəəси вəрōhмəтəмм-миннəə, вəкəəнə əмрōмм-мəќдыййə

He said, ‘So shall it be. Your Lord says, ‘‘It is simple for Me.’’ And so that We may make him a sign for mankind and a mercy from Us, and it is a matter [already] decided.’

فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَٱنتَبَذَتْ بِهِۦ مَكَانًا قَصِيًّا٢٢

фəhəмəлəтhу фəəӈтəбəз̃əт биhи мəкəəнəн ќōсыййə

Thus she conceived him, then withdrew with him to a distant place.

فَأَجَآءَهَا ٱلْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَـٰذَا وَكُنتُ نَسْيًا مَّنسِيًّا٢٣

фəəджəə'əhəəль-мəхōōду илəə джиз̃'и ннəхлəти ќōōлəт йəə лэйтəнии митту ќōблə həəз̃əə вəкуӈту нəсйəмм-мəӈсиййə

The birth pangs brought her to the trunk of a date palm. She said, ‘I wish I had died before this and become a forgotten thing, beyond recall.’

فَنَادَٮٰهَا مِن تَحْتِهَآ أَلَّا تَحْزَنِى قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّا٢٤

фəнəəдəəhəə миӈ-тəhтиhəə əльлəə тəhзəнии ќōд джə'əлə рōббуки тəhтəки сəриййə

Thereupon he called her from below her [saying,] ‘Do not grieve! Your Lord has made a spring to flow at your feet.

وَهُزِّىٓ إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ تُسَـٰقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا٢٥

вəhуззии илəйки биджиз̃'и ннəхлəти тусəəќит̣ 'əлэйки рут̣ōбəн джəниййə

Shake the trunk of the palm tree, freshly picked dates will drop upon you.

فَكُلِى وَٱشْرَبِى وَقَرِّى عَيْنًا‌ۖ فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ ٱلْبَشَرِ أَحَدًا فَقُولِىٓ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ صَوْمًا فَلَنْ أُكَلِّمَ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِنسِيًّا٢٦

фəкулии вəəшрōбии вəќōррии 'əйнə, фəиммəə тəрōйиннə минəль-бəшəри əhəдəн фəќуулии иннии нəз̃əрту лиррōhмəəни сōумəн фəлəн укəллимəль-йəумə иӈсиййə

Eat, drink, and be comforted. Then if you see any human, say, ‘‘Indeed I have vowed a fast to the All-beneficent, so I will not speak to any human today.’’ ’

فَأَتَتْ بِهِۦ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُۥ‌ۖ قَالُواْ يَـٰمَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْــًٔا فَرِيًّا٢٧

фəəтəт биhи ќōумəhəə тəhмилюh, ќōōлюю йəə мəрйəму лəќōд джи'ти шэй'əн фəриййə

Then carrying him she brought him to her people. They said, ‘O Mary, you have certainly come up with an odd thing!

يَـٰٓأُخْتَ هَـٰرُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ ٱمْرَأَ سَوْءٍ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّا٢٨

йəə ухтə həəруунə мəə кəəнə əбууки-мрōə сəу'иу-вəмəə кəəнəт уммуки бəґиййə

O sister of Aaron[’s lineage]! Your father was not an evil man, nor was your mother unchaste.’

فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ‌ۖ قَالُواْ كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّا٢٩

фəəшəəрōт илəйh, ќōōлюю кəйфə нукəллиму мəӈ-кəəнə фииль-мəhди сōбиййə

Thereat she pointed to him. They said, ‘How can we speak to one who is yet a baby in the cradle?’

قَالَ إِنِّى عَبْدُ ٱللَّهِ ءَاتَـٰنِىَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَجَعَلَنِى نَبِيًّا٣٠

ќōōлə иннии 'əбду ллаhи əəтəəнийəль-китəəбə вəджə'əлəнии нəбиййə

He said, ‘Indeed I am a servant of Allah! He has given me the Book and made me a prophet.

وَجَعَلَنِى مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُ وَأَوْصَـٰنِى بِٱلصَّلَوٲةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٲةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّا٣١

вəджə'əлəнии мубəəрōкəн əйнə мəə куӈту вəəусōōнии бис-сōлəəти вə ззəкəəти мəə думту həййə

He has made me blessed, wherever I may be, and He has enjoined me to [maintain] the prayer and to [pay] the zakat as long as I live,

وَبَرَّۢا بِوَٲلِدَتِى وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِى جَبَّارًا شَقِيًّا٣٢

вəбəррōмм-бивəəлидəтии вəлəм йəдж'əльнии джəббəəрōн шəќиййə

and to be good to my mother, and He has not made me self-willed and wretched.

وَٱلسَّلَـٰمُ عَلَىَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدتُّ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّا٣٣

вə ссəлəəму 'əлэййə йəумə вулитту вəйəумə əмууту вəйəумə уб'əc̃у həййə

Peace to me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I am raised alive.’

ذَٲلِكَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ‌ۚ قَوْلَ ٱلْحَقِّ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ٣٤

з̃əəликə 'иисəə-бну мəрйəм, ќōулəль-həќќи льлəз̃ии фииhи йəмтəруун

That is Jesus, son of Mary, a Word of the Real concerning whom they are in doubt.

مَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ مِن وَلَدٍ‌ۖ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥٓ‌ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ٣٥

мəə кəəнə ли-Ллəhи əй-йəттəхыз̃ə миу-вəлəд, субhəəнəh, из̃əə ќōдōō əмрōн фəиннəмəə йəќуулю лəhу куӈ-фəйəкуун

It is not for Allah to take a son. Immaculate is He! When He decides on a matter, He just says to it, ‘Be!’ and it is.

وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ‌ۚ هَـٰذَا صِرَٲطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ٣٦

вəиннə ллаhə рōббии вəрōббукум фəə'будууh, həəз̃əə сырōōт̣умм-мустəќиим

[And Jesus said,] ‘Indeed Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a straight path.’

فَٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَيْنِهِمْ‌ۖ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن مَّشْهَدِ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ٣٧

фəəхтəлəфəль-əhзəəбу мимм-бэйниhим, фəвəйлюл-лильлəз̃иинə кəфəруу мимм-мəшhəди йəумин 'əз̃ыым

But the factions differed among themselves. So woe to the faithless at the scene of a tremendous day.

أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَبْصِرْ يَوْمَ يَأْتُونَنَا‌ۖ لَـٰكِنِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ ٱلْيَوْمَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ٣٨

əсми' биhим вəəбсыр йəумə йəтуунəнəə, лəəкини з̃з̃ōōлимуунəль-йəумə фии дōлəəлимм-мубиин

How well they will hear and how well they will see on the day when they come to Us! But today the wrongdoers are in manifest error.

وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍ وَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ٣٩

вəəӈз̃ирhум йəумəль-həсрōти из̃ ќудыйəль-əмру вəhум фии ґōфлəтиу-вəhум лəə йу'минуун

Warn them of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be decided, while they are [yet] heedless and do not have faith.

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَرِثُ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ٤٠

иннəə нəhну нəриc̃уль-əрдō вəмəн 'əлэйhəə вəилəйнəə йурджə'уун

Indeed We shall inherit the earth and whoever there is on it, and to Us they shall be brought back.

وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِبْرَٲهِيمَ‌ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا٤١

вəəз̃кур фииль-китəəби ибрōōhиим, иннəhу кəəнə сыддииќōн-ннəбиййə

And mention in the Book Abraham. Indeed, he was a truthful man and a prophet.

إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَـٰٓأَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لَا يَسْمَعُ وَلَا يُبْصِرُ وَلَا يُغْنِى عَنكَ شَيْــًٔا٤٢

из̃ ќōōлə лиəбииhи йəə əбəти лимə тə'буду мəə лəə йəсмə'у вəлəə йубсыру вəлəə йуґнии 'əӈкə шэй'ə

When he said to his father, ‘Father! Why do you worship that which neither hears nor sees, and is of no avail to you in any way?

يَـٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّى قَدْ جَآءَنِى مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَٱتَّبِعْنِىٓ أَهْدِكَ صِرَٲطًا سَوِيًّا٤٣

йəə əбəти иннии ќōд джəə'əнии минəль-'ильми мəə лəм йəтикə фəəттəби'нии əhдикə сырōōт̣ōн сəвиййə

Father! Indeed a knowledge has already come to me, which has not come to you. So follow me that I may guide you to a right path.

يَـٰٓأَبَتِ لَا تَعْبُدِ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ‌ۖ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَصِيًّا٤٤

йəə əбəти лəə тə'буди шшэйт̣ōōн, иннə шшэйт̣ōōнə кəəнə лиррōhмəəни 'əсыййə

Father! Do not worship Satan. Indeed Satan is disobedient to the All-beneficent.

يَـٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَـٰنِ وَلِيًّا٤٥

йəə əбəти иннии əхōōфу əй-йəмəссəкə 'əз̃əəбумм-минə ррōhмəəни фəтəкуунə лиш-шэйт̣ōōни вəлиййə

Father! I am indeed afraid that a punishment from the All-beneficent will befall you, and you will become Satan’s accomplice.’

قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَنتَ عَنْ ءَالِهَتِى يَـٰٓإِبْرَٲهِيمُ‌ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ‌ۖ وَٱهْجُرْنِى مَلِيًّا٤٦

ќōōлə əрōōґибун əӈтə 'əн əəлиhəтии йəə ибрōōhиим, лə'иль-лəм тəӈтəhи лəəрджумəннəк, вəəhджурнии мəлиййə

He said, ‘Abraham! Are you renouncing my gods? If you do not desist, I will stone you. Get away from me for a long while.’

قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْكَ‌ۖ سَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّىٓ‌ۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ بِى حَفِيًّا٤٧

ќōōлə сəлəəмун 'əлэйк, сəəстəґфиру лəкə рōббий, иннəhу кəəнə бии həфиййə

He said, ‘Peace be to you! I shall plead with my Lord to forgive you. Indeed, He is gracious to me.

وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَدْعُواْ رَبِّى عَسَىٰٓ أَلَّآ أَكُونَ بِدُعَآءِ رَبِّى شَقِيًّا٤٨

вəə'тəзилюкум вəмəə тəд'уунə миӈ-дууни льлəhи вəəд'уу рōббии 'əсəə əльлəə əкуунə биду'əə'и рōббии шəќиййə

I dissociate myself from you and whatever you invoke besides Allah. I will supplicate my Lord. Hopefully, I will not be disappointed in supplicating my Lord.’

فَلَمَّا ٱعْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ‌ۖ وَكُلاًّ جَعَلْنَا نَبِيًّا٤٩

фəлəммəə-'тəзəлəhум вəмəə йə'будуунə миӈ-дууни льлəhи вəhəбнəə лəhу исhəəќō вəйə'ќууб, вəкульлəн джə'əльнəə нəбиййə

So when he had left them and what they worshipped besides Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and each We made a prophet.

وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّا٥٠

вəвəhəбнəə лəhум-мир-рōhмəтинəə вəджə'əльнəə лəhум лисəəнə сыдќин 'əлиййə

And We gave them out of Our mercy, and conferred on them a worthy and lofty repute.

وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مُوسَىٰٓ‌ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مُخْلَصًا وَكَانَ رَسُولاً نَّبِيًّا٥١

вəəз̃кур фииль-китəəби муусəə, иннəhу кəəнə мухлəсōу-вəкəəнə рōсуулəн-ннəбиййə

And mention in the Book Moses. Indeed he was exclusively dedicated [to Allah], and an apostle and prophet.

وَنَـٰدَيْنَـٰهُ مِن جَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ ٱلْأَيْمَنِ وَقَرَّبْنَـٰهُ نَجِيًّا٥٢

вəнəəдəйнəəhу миӈ-джəəниби т̣т̣ууриль-əймəни вəќōррōбнəəhу нəджиййə

We called him from the right side of the Mount and We drew him near [to Ourselves] for confidential discourse.

وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥ مِن رَّحْمَتِنَآ أَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ نَبِيًّا٥٣

вəвəhəбнəə лəhу мир-рōhмəтинəə əхōōhу həəруунə нəбиййə

And We gave him out of Our mercy his brother Aaron, a prophet.

وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِسْمَـٰعِيلَ‌ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صَادِقَ ٱلْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولاً نَّبِيًّا٥٤

вəəз̃кур фииль-китəəби исмəə'ииль, иннəhу кəəнə сōōдиќōль-вə'ди вəкəəнə рōсуулəн-ннəбиййə

And mention in the Book Ishmael. Indeed, he was true to his promise, and an apostle and prophet.

وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُۥ بِٱلصَّلَوٲةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٲةِ وَكَانَ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ مَرْضِيًّا٥٥

вəкəəнə йəмуру əhлəhу бис-сōлəəти вə ззəкəəти вəкəəнə 'иӈдə рōббиhи мəрдыййə

He used to bid his family to [maintain] the prayer and to [pay] the zakat, and was pleasing to his Lord.

وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِدْرِيسَ‌ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا٥٦

вəəз̃кур фииль-китəəби идриис, иннəhу кəəнə сыддииќōн-ннəбиййə

And mention in the Book Idrees. Indeed, he was a truthful one and a prophet,

وَرَفَعْنَـٰهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا٥٧

вəрōфə'нəəhу мəкəəнəн 'əлиййə

and We raised him to an exalted station.

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّــۧنَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَٲهِيمَ وَإِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ‌ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ خَرُّواْ سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا٥٨

уулəə'икə льлəз̃иинə əн'əмə ллаhу 'əлэйhим-минə ннəбиййиинə миӈ-з̃урриййəти əəдəмə вəмиммəн həмəльнəə мə'ə нууhиу-вəмиӈ-з̃урриййəти ибрōōhиимə вəисрōō'иилə вəмиммəн həдəйнəə вəəджтəбэйнəə, из̃əə тутлəə 'əлэйhим əəйəəту ррōhмəəни хōрруу суджджəдəу-вəбукиййə

They are the ones whom Allah has blessed from among the prophets of Adam’s progeny, and from [the progeny of] those We carried with Noah, and from among the progeny of Abraham and Israel, and from among those that We guided and chose. When the signs of the All-beneficent were recited to them, they would fall down weeping in prostration.

فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٲةَ وَٱتَّبَعُواْ ٱلشَّهَوَٲتِ‌ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا٥٩

фəхōлəфə мимм-бə'диhим хōльфун əдōō'уу ссōлəəтə вəəттəбə'уу шшəhəвəəт, фəсəуфə йəльќōунə ґōййə

But they were succeeded by an evil posterity who neglected the prayer, and followed [their base] appetites. So they will soon encounter [the reward of] perversity,

إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًا فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْــًٔا٦٠

ильлəə мəӈ-тəəбə вə'əəмəнə вə'əмилə сōōлиhəн фəуулəə'икə йəдхулююнəль-джəннəтə вəлəə йуз̃лəмуунə шэй'ə

barring those who repent, believe, and act righteously. Such will enter paradise, and they will not be wronged in the least.

جَنَّـٰتِ عَدْنٍ ٱلَّتِى وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ عِبَادَهُۥ بِٱلْغَيْبِ‌ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَأْتِيًّا٦١

джəннəəти 'əднин льлəтии вə'əдə ррōhмəəну 'ибəəдəhу биль-ґōйб, иннəhу кəəнə вə'дуhу мəтиййə

Gardens of Eden promised by the All-beneficent to His servants, [while they were still] unseen. Indeed His promise is bound to come to pass.

لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَـٰمًا‌ۖ وَلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا٦٢

лəə йəсмə'уунə фииhəə лəґвəн ильлəə сəлəəмə, вəлəhум ризќуhум фииhəə букрōтəу-вə'əшиййə

Therein they will not hear vain talk, but only ‘Peace!’ Therein they will have their provision morning and evening.

تِلْكَ ٱلْجَنَّةُ ٱلَّتِى نُورِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَن كَانَ تَقِيًّا٦٣

тилькəль-джəннəту льлəтии нууриc̃у мин 'ибəəдинəə мəӈ-кəəнə тəќиййə

This is the paradise We will give as inheritance to those of Our servants who are Godwary.

وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ‌ۖ لَهُۥ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٲلِكَ‌ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا٦٤

вəмəə нəтəнəззəлю ильлəə биəмри рōббик, лəhу мəə бэйнə əйдиинəə вəмəə хōльфəнəə вəмəə бэйнə з̃əəлик, вəмəə кəəнə рōббукə нəсиййə

[O Gabriel, tell the Prophet,] ‘We do not descend except by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs whatever is before us and whatever is behind us and whatever is in between that, and your Lord does not forget

رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَٱصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَـٰدَتِهِۦ‌ۚ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُۥ سَمِيًّا٦٥

рōббу ссəмəəвəəти вəəльəрды вəмəə бэйнəhумəə фəə'будhу вəəст̣ōбир ли'ибəəдəтиh, həль тə'лəму лəhу сəмиййə

—the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. So worship Him and be steadfast in His worship. Do you know anyone who could be His namesake?’

وَيَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَءِذَا مَا مِتُّ لَسَوْفَ أُخْرَجُ حَيًّا٦٦

вəйəќуулюль-иӈсəəну əиз̃əə мəə митту лəсəуфə ухрōджу həййə

Man says, ‘What? Shall I be brought forth alive [from the grave], when I have been dead?’

أَوَلَا يَذْكُرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ يَكُ شَيْــًٔا٦٧

əвəлəə йəз̃куруль-иӈсəəну əннəə хōлəќнəəhу миӈ-ќōблю вəлəм йəку шэй'ə

Does not man remember that We created him before when he was nothing?

فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْ وَٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَ ثُمَّ لَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْ حَوْلَ جَهَنَّمَ جِثِيًّا٦٨

фəвəрōббикə лəнəhшурōннəhум вə шшəйəəт̣ыынə c̃уммə лəнуhдырōннəhум həулə джəhəннəмə джиc̃иййə

By your Lord, We will surely gather them with the devils; then We will surely bring them up around hell [scrambling] on their knees.

ثُمَّ لَنَنزِعَنَّ مِن كُلِّ شِيعَةٍ أَيُّهُمْ أَشَدُّ عَلَى ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عِتِيًّا٦٩

c̃уммə лəнəӈзи'əннə миӈ-кулли шии'əтин əййуhум əшəдду 'əлəə ррōhмəəни 'итиййə

Then from every group We shall draw whichever of them was more defiant towards the All-beneficent.

ثُمَّ لَنَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِهَا صِلِيًّا٧٠

c̃уммə лəнəhну ə'лəму бильлəз̃иинə hум əулəə биhəə сылиййə

Then surely We will know best those who deserve most to enter it.

وَإِن مِّنكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا‌ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ حَتْمًا مَّقْضِيًّا٧١

вəимм-миӈкум ильлəə вəəридуhəə, кəəнə 'əлəə рōббикə həтмəмм-мəќдыййə

There is none of you but will come to it: a [matter that is a] decided certainty with your Lord.

ثُمَّ نُنَجِّى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَواْ وَّنَذَرُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا٧٢

c̃уммə нунəджджии льлəз̃иинə-ттəќōу-вəнəз̃əру з̃з̃ōōлимиинə фииhəə джиc̃иййə

Then We will deliver those who are Godwary, and leave the wrongdoers in it, fallen on their knees.

وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُنَا بَيِّنَـٰتٍ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَىُّ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌ مَّقَامًا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّا٧٣

вəиз̃əə тутлəə 'əлэйhим əəйəəтунəə бэййинəəтин ќōōлə льлəз̃иинə кəфəруу лильлəз̃иинə əəмəнуу əййуль-фəрииќōйни хōйрумм-мəќōōмəу-вəəhсəну нəдиййə

When Our manifest signs are recited to them, the faithless say to the faithful, ‘Which of the two groups is superior in station and better with respect to company?’

وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَـٰثًا وَرِءْيًا٧٤

вəкəм əhлəкнəə ќōблəhум-миӈ-ќōрнин hум əhсəну əc̃əəc̃əу-вəри'йə

How many a generation We have destroyed before them, who were superior in furnishings and appearance!

قُلْ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلضَّلَـٰلَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ مَدًّا‌ۚ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوْاْ مَا يُوعَدُونَ إِمَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ وَإِمَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَأَضْعَفُ جُندًا٧٥

ќуль мəӈ-кəəнə фии ддōлəəлəти фəльйəмдуд лəhу ррōhмəəну мəддə, həттəə из̃əə рōəу мəə йуу'əдуунə иммəəль-'əз̃əəбə вəиммəə ссəə'əтə фəсəйə'лəмуунə мəн hувə шəррумм-мəкəəнəу-вəəд'əфу джуӈдə

Say, ‘Whoever abides in error, the All-beneficent shall prolong his respite until they sight what they have been promised: either punishment, or the Hour.’ Then they will know whose position is worse, and whose host is weaker.

وَيَزِيدُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْاْ هُدًى‌ۗ وَٱلْبَـٰقِيَـٰتُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ مَّرَدًّا٧٦

вəйəзииду ллаhу льлəз̃иинə-hтəдəу hудəн, вəəльбəəќийəəту ссōōлиhəəту хōйрун 'иӈдə рōббикə c̃əвəəбəу-вəхōйрумм-мəрōддə

Allah enhances in guidance those who are [rightly] guided, and lasting righteous deeds are better with your Lord in reward, and better at the return [to Allah].

أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى كَفَرَ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالاً وَوَلَدًا٧٧

əфəрōəйтə льлəз̃ии кəфəрō би'əəйəəтинəə вəќōōлə лəуутəйəннə мəəлəу-вəвəлəдə

Have you not regarded him who defies Our signs, and says, ‘I will surely be given wealth and children’?

أَطَّلَعَ ٱلْغَيْبَ أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَهْدًا٧٨

əт̣т̣ōлə'əль-ґōйбə əми-ттəхōз̃ə 'иӈдə ррōhмəəни 'əhдə

Has he come to know the Unseen, or taken a promise from the All-beneficent?

كَلَّا‌ۚ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُولُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ مَدًّا٧٩

кəльлəə, сəнəктубу мəə йəќуулю вəнəмудду лəhу минəль-'əз̃əəби мəддə

No indeed! We will write down what he says, and We will prolong his punishment endlessly.

وَنَرِثُهُۥ مَا يَقُولُ وَيَأْتِينَا فَرْدًا٨٠

вəнəриc̃уhу мəə йəќуулю вəйəтиинəə фəрдə

We shall take over from him what he talks about, and he will come to Us alone.

وَٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةً لِّيَكُونُواْ لَهُمْ عِزًّا٨١

вəəттəхōз̃уу миӈ-дууни льлəhи əəлиhəтəл-лийəкуунуу лəhум 'иззə

They have taken gods besides Allah that they may be a [source of] might to them.

كَلَّا‌ۚ سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا٨٢

кəльлəə, сəйəкфуруунə би'ибəəдəтиhим вəйəкуунуунə 'əлэйhим дыддə

No Indeed! Soon they will disown their worship, and they will be their opponents.

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ أَزًّا٨٣

əлəм тəрō əннəə əрсəльнəə шшəйəəт̣ыынə 'əлəəль-кəəфириинə тə'уззуhум əззə

Have you not regarded that We unleash the devils upon the faithless to urge them vigorously?

فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ‌ۖ إِنَّمَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَدًّا٨٤

фəлəə тə'джəль 'əлэйhим, иннəмəə нə'удду лəhум 'əддə

So do not make haste against them; indeed We are counting for them, a counting [down].

يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَى ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ وَفْدًا٨٥

йəумə нəhшуруль-муттəќиинə илəə ррōhмəəни вəфдə

The day We shall gather the Godwary toward the All-beneficent, on mounts,

وَنَسُوقُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وِرْدًا٨٦

вəнəсууќуль-муджримиинə илəə джəhəннəмə вирдə

and drive the guilty as a thirsty herd towards hell,

لَّا يَمْلِكُونَ ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةَ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَهْدًا٨٧

лəə йəмликуунə шшəфəə'əтə ильлəə мəни-ттəхōз̃ə 'иӈдə ррōhмəəни 'əhдə

no one will have the power to intercede [with Allah], except for him who has taken a covenant with the All-beneficent.

وَقَالُواْ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ وَلَدًا٨٨

вəќōōлюю-ттəхōз̃ə ррōhмəəну вəлəдə

They say, ‘The All-beneficent has taken a son!’

لَّقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْــًٔا إِدًّا٨٩

лəќōд джи'тум шэй'əн иддə

You have certainly advanced something hideous!

تَكَادُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنشَقُّ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَتَخِرُّ ٱلْجِبَالُ هَدًّا٩٠

тəкəəду ссəмəəвəəту йəтəфəт̣т̣ōрнə минhу вəтəӈшəќќуль-əрду вəтəхырруль-джибəəлю həддə

The heavens are about to be rent apart at it, the earth to split open, and the mountains to collapse into bits,

أَن دَعَوْاْ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ وَلَدًا٩١

əӈ-дə'əу лиррōhмəəни вəлəдə

that they should ascribe a son to the All-beneficent!

وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا٩٢

вəмəə йəмм-бəґии лиррōhмəəни əй-йəттəхыз̃ə вəлəдə

It does not behoove the All-beneficent to take a son.

إِن كُلُّ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّآ ءَاتِى ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَبْدًا٩٣

иӈ-куллю мəӈ-фии ссəмəəвəəти вəəльəрды ильлəə əəтии ррōhмəəни 'əбдə

There is none in the heavens and the earth but he comes to the All-beneficent as a servant.

لَّقَدْ أَحْصَـٰهُمْ وَعَدَّهُمْ عَدًّا٩٤

лəќōд əhсōōhум вə'əддəhум 'əддə

Certainly He has counted them [all] and numbered them precisely,

وَكُلُّهُمْ ءَاتِيهِ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ فَرْدًا٩٥

вəкуллюhум əəтииhи йəумəль-ќийəəмəти фəрдə

and each of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ سَيَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ وُدًّا٩٦

иннəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу вə'əмилюю ссōōлиhəəти сəйəдж'əлю лəhуму ррōhмəəну вуддə

Indeed those who have faith and do righteous deeds—the All-beneficent will endear them [to His creation].

فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَـٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ وَتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ قَوْمًا لُّدًّا٩٧

фəиннəмəə йəссəрнəəhу билисəəникə литубəшширō биhиль-муттəќиинə вəтуӈз̃ирō биhи ќōумəл-люддə

Indeed We have made it simple in your language so that you may give good news thereby to the Godwary and warn with it a disputatious lot.

وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْهُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِكْزَۢا٩٨

вəкəм əhлəкнəə ќōблəhум-миӈ-ќōрнин həль туhиссу минhум-мин əhəдин əу тəсмə'у лəhум рикзə

How many a generation We have destroyed before them! Can you descry any one of them, or hear from them so much as a murmur?
