  • بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

    бисмиль-лəhир-рōhмəəнир-рōhиим

    In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

  • 104:1
    وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ

    вəйлюл-ликулли hумəзəтил-люмəзəh

    Woe to every scandal-monger and slanderer,

  • 104:2
    الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ

    əльлəз̃ии джəмə'ə мəəлəу-вə'əддəдəh

    who amasses wealth and counts it over.

  • 104:3
    يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ

    йəhсəбу əннə мəəлəhу əхлəдəh

    He supposes his wealth will make him immortal!

  • 104:4
    كَلَّا  ۖ لَيُنبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ

    кəльлəə, лəйумм-бəз̃əннə фииль-hутōмəh

    No indeed! He will surely be cast into the Crusher.

  • 104:5
    وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ

    вəмəə əдрōōкə мəəль-hутōмəh

    And what will show you what is the Crusher?

  • 104:6
    نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ

    нəəрул-лаhиль-мууќōдəh

    [It is] the fire of Allah, set ablaze,

  • 104:7
    الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْأَفْئِدَةِ

    əльлəтии тəттōли'у 'əлəəль-əф`идəh

    which will overspread the hearts.

  • 104:8
    إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِم مُّؤْصَدَةٌ

    иннəhəə 'əлэйhим-му`сōдəh

    Indeed it will close in upon them

    فِي عَمَدٍ مُّمَدَّدَةٍ

    фии 'əмəдимм-мумəддəдəh

    in outstretched columns.
