surah086

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ١

вə ссəмəə'и вə т̣т̣ōōриќ

By the heaven, and by the nightly visitor

وَمَآ أَدْرَٮٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ٢

вəмəə əдрōōкə мəə т̣т̣ōōриќ

(and what will show you what is the nightly visitor?

ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ٣

əннəджму c̃c̃əəќиб

It is the brilliant star):

إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ٤

иӈ-куллю нəфсиль-лəммəə 'əлэйhəə həəфиз̃

there is a guard over every soul.

فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ٥

фəльйəӈз̃уриль-иӈсəəну миммə хулиќ

So let man consider from what he was created.

خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ٦

хулиќō мимм-мəə'ин дəəфиќ

He was created from an effusing fluid

يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ٧

йəхруджу мимм-бэйни ссульби вə ттəрōō'иб

which issues from between the loins and the breast-bones.

إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌ٨

иннəhу 'əлəə рōдж'иhи лəќōōдир

Indeed He is able to bring him back [after death],

يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ٩

йəумə тублəə ссəрōō'ир

on the day when the secrets are examined

فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ١٠

фəмəə лəhу миӈ-ќуувəтиу-вəлəə нəəсыр

and he shall have neither power nor helper.

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ١١

вə ссəмəə'и з̃əəти ррōдж'

By the resurgent heaven,

وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ١٢

вəəльəрды з̃əəти ссōд'

and by the furrowed earth:

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ١٣

иннəhу лəќōулюн фəсль

it is indeed a conclusive discourse,

وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ١٤

вəмəə hувə биль-həзль

and not a jest.

إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا١٥

иннəhум йəкиидуунə кəйдə

Indeed they are devising a stratagem,

وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا١٦

вəəкииду кəйдə

and I [too] am devising a plan.

فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدَۢا١٧

фəмəhhилиль-кəəфириинə əмhильhум рувəйдə

So respite the faithless; give them a gentle respite.
