Qaf (Qaf (the letter))

  • بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

    бисмиль-лəhир-рōhмəəнир-рōhиим

    In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
  • 50:1

    ق  ۚ وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ

    Каф. вəəльќур`əəниль-мəджиид

    Qaf. By the glorious Quran.
  • 50:2

    بَلْ عَجِبُوا أَن جَاءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَـٰذَا شَيْءٌ عَجِيبٌ

    бəль 'əджибуу əŋŋ-джəə`əhум-муŋŋз̃ирумм-минhум фəќōōлəль-кəəфируунə həəз̃əə шэй`ун 'əджииб

    Indeed they consider it odd that a warner from among themselves should have come to them. So the faithless say, ‘This is an odd thing.’
  • 50:3

    أَإِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا  ۖ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ رَجْعٌ بَعِيدٌ

    ə`из̃əə митнəə вəкуннəə турōōбə, з̃əəликə рōдж'умм-бə'иид

    ‘What! When we are dead and have become dust, [shall we be raised again]? That is a far-fetched return!’
  • 50:4

    قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ الْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ  ۖ وَعِندَنَا كِتَابٌ حَفِيظٌ

    ќōд 'əлимнəə мəə тəŋŋќусуль-əрду минhум, вə'иŋŋдəнəə китəəбун həфииз̃

    We know what the earth diminishes from them, and with Us is a preserving Book.
  • 50:5

    بَلْ كَذَّبُوا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِي أَمْرٍ مَّرِيجٍ

    бəль кəз̃з̃əбуу би-ль-həќќи лəммəə джəə`əhум фəhум фии əмримм-мəриидж

    Indeed, they denied the truth when it came to them; so they are now in a perplexed state of affairs.
  • 50:6

    أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَاهَا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍ

    əфəлəм йəŋŋз̃уруу илəəс-сəмəə`и фəуќōhум кəйфə бəнəйнəəhəə вəзəййəннəəhəə вəмəə лəhəə миŋŋ-фуруудж

    Have they not, then, observed the heaven above them, how We have built it and adorned it, and that there are no cracks in it?
  • 50:7

    وَالْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِيجٍ

    вəəль`əрдō мəдəднəəhəə вə`əльќōйнəə фииhəə рōвəəсийə вə`əмм-бəтнəə фииhəə миŋŋ-кулли зəуджимм-бəhиидж

    And We spread out the earth, and cast in it firm mountains, and caused every delightful kind [of vegetation] to grow in it.
  • 50:8

    تَبْصِرَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِيبٍ

    тəбсырōтəу-вəз̃икрōō ликулли 'əбдимм-мунииб

    [In this there is] an insight and admonition for every penitent servant.
  • 50:9

    وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً مُّبَارَكًا فَأَنبَتْنَا بِهِ جَنَّاتٍ وَحَبَّ الْحَصِيدِ

    вəнəззəльнəə минəс-сəмəə`и мəə`əмм-мубəəрōкəн фə`əмм-бəтнəə биhи джəннəəтиу-вəhəббəль-həсыыд

    We send down from the sky salubrious water, with which We grow gardens and the grain which is harvested,
  • 50:10

    وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِيدٌ

    вəн-нəхлə бəəсиќōōтиль-лəhəə тōль'ун-ннəдыыд

    and tall date palms with regularly set spathes,
  • 50:11

    رِّزْقًا لِّلْعِبَادِ  ۖ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا  ۚ كَذَ‌ٰلِكَ الْخُرُوجُ

    ризќōл-ли-ль-'ибəəд, вə`əhйəйнəə биhи бəльдəтəмм-мəйтə, кəз̃əəликəль-хуруудж

    as a provision for Our servants, and with it We revive a dead country. Likewise will be the rising [from the dead].
  • 50:12

    كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ

    кəз̃з̃əбəт ќōблəhум ќōуму нууhиу-вə`əсhəəбур-рōсси вəc̃əмууд

    The people of Noah denied before them, and [so did] the people of Rass and Thamud,
  • 50:13

    وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَانُ لُوطٍ

    вə'əəдуу-вəфир'əуну вə`ихвəəну люют

    and ‘Ad, Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot,
  • 50:14

    وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ  ۚ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ

    вə`əсhəəбуль-əйкəти вəќōуму туббə', куллюн кəз̃з̃əбəр-русулə фəhəќќō вə'иид

    and the inhabitants of Aykah and the people of Tubbac. Each [of them] impugned the apostles, and so My threat became due [against them].
  • 50:15

    أَفَعَيِينَا بِالْخَلْقِ الْأَوَّلِ  ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِي لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ

    əфə'əйиинəə би-ль-хōльќиль-əувəль, бəль hум фии лəбсимм-мин хōльќин джəдиид

    Have We been exhausted by the first creation? No, they are in doubt about a new creation.
  • 50:16

    وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِ نَفْسُهُ  ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيدِ

    вəлəќōд хōлəќнəəль-иŋŋсəəнə вəнə'лəму мəə тувəсвису биhи нəфсуh, вəнəhну əќрōбу илəйhи мин həблиль-вəриид

    Certainly We have created man and We know to what his soul tempts him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein.
  • 50:17

    إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى الْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ

    из̃ йəтəлəќќōōль-мутəлəќќийəəни 'əниль-йəмиини вə'əниш-шимəəли ќō'иид

    When the twin recorders record [his deeds], seated on the right hand and on the left:
  • 50:18

    مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ

    мəə йəльфиз̃у миŋŋ-ќōулин ильлəə лəдəйhи рōќиибун 'əтиид

    he says no word but that there is a ready observer beside him.
  • 50:19

    وَجَاءَتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ بِالْحَقِّ  ۖ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ

    вəджəə`əт сəкрōтуль-мəути би-ль-həќќ, з̃əəликə мəə куŋŋтə минhу тəhиид

    The throes of death bring the truth: ‘This is what you used to shun!’
  • 50:20

    وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ  ۚ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْوَعِيدِ

    вəнуфихō фиис-суур, з̃əəликə йəумуль-вə'иид

    And the Trumpet will be blown: ‘This is the promised day.’
