حمٓ١

Ха, мим.

Ha, Meem.

تَنزِيلُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ٢

тəӈзиилюль-китəəби минə ллаhиль-'əзиизиль-həкиим

The [gradual] sending down of the Book is from Allah, the All-mighty, All-wise.

إِنَّ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَأَيَـٰتٍ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ٣

иннə фии ссəмəəвəəти вəəльəрды лə'əəйəəтил-ли-ль-му'миниин

In the heavens and the earth there are indeed signs for the faithful,

وَفِى خَلْقِكُمْ وَمَا يَبُثُّ مِن دَآبَّةٍ ءَايَـٰتٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ٤

вəфии хōльќикум вəмəə йəбуc̃c̃у миӈ-дəəббəтин əəйəəтул-лиќōумий-йууќинуун

There are signs for people who have certainty in your own creation and in animals, He scatters abroad.

وَٱخْتِلَـٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن رِّزْقٍ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَتَصْرِيفِ ٱلرِّيَـٰحِ ءَايَـٰتٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ٥

вəəхтилəəфи льлэйли вə ннəhəəри вəмəə əӈзəлə ллаhу минə ссəмəə'и мир-ризќин фəəhйəə биhиль-əрдō бə'дə мəутиhəə вəтəсриифи ррийəəhи əəйəəтул-лиќōумий-йə'ќилююн

There are signs for people who exercise their reason in the alternation of night and day, in the provision that Allah sends down from the sky, with which He revives the earth after its death, and in the changing of the winds.

تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ‌ۖ فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثِۭ بَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ وَءَايَـٰتِهِۦ يُؤْمِنُونَ٦

тилькə əəйəəту ллаhи нəтлююhəə 'əлэйкə биль-həќќ, фəбиəййи həдииc̃имм-бə'дə ллаhи вə'əəйəəтиhи йу'минуун

These are the signs of Allah that We recite for you in truth. So what discourse will they believe after Allah and His signs?

وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ٧

вəйлюл-ликулли əффəəкин əc̃иим

Woe to every sinful liar,

يَسْمَعُ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا‌ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ٨

йəсмə'у əəйəəти льлəhи тутлəə 'əлэйhи c̃уммə йусырру мустəкбирōн кəəль-лəм йəсмə'həə, фəбəшширhу би'əз̃əəбин əлиим

who hears the signs of Allah being recited to him, yet persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So inform him of a painful punishment.

وَإِذَا عَلِمَ مِنْ ءَايَـٰتِنَا شَيْــًٔا ٱتَّخَذَهَا هُزُوًا‌ۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ٩

вəиз̃əə 'əлимə мин əəйəəтинəə шэй'əн-ттəхōз̃əhəə hузувə, уулəə'икə лəhум 'əз̃əəбумм-муhиин

Should he learn anything about Our signs, he takes them in derision. For such there is a humiliating punishment.

مِّن وَرَآئِهِمْ جَهَنَّمُ‌ۖ وَلَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُم مَّا كَسَبُواْ شَيْــًٔا وَلَا مَا ٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْلِيَآءَ‌ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ١٠

миу-вəрōō'иhим джəhəннəм, вəлəə йуґнии 'əнhум-мəə кəсəбуу шэй'əу-вəлəə мəə-ттəхōз̃уу миӈ-дууни льлəhи əулийəə', вəлəhум 'əз̃əəбун 'əз̃ыым

Ahead of them is hell, and neither what they have earned, nor what they had taken as guardians besides Allah will avail them in any way, and there is a great punishment for them.

هَـٰذَا هُدًى‌ۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مِّن رِّجْزٍ أَلِيمٌ١١

həəз̃əə hудəн, вəль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу би'əəйəəти рōббиhим лəhум 'əз̃əəбумм-мир-риджзин əлиим

This is [true] guidance, and there is a painful punishment due to defilement for those who defy the signs of their Lord.

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلْبَحْرَ لِتَجْرِىَ ٱلْفُلْكُ فِيهِ بِأَمْرِهِۦ وَلِتَبْتَغُواْ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ١٢

əллаhу льлəз̃ии сəххōрō лəкумуль-бəhрō литəджрийəль-фульку фииhи биəмриhи вəлитəбтəґуу миӈ-фəдлиhи вəлə'əльлəкум тəшкуруун

It is Allah who disposed the sea for you[r benefit] so that the ships may sail in it by His command, that you may seek of His bounty and that you may give thanks.

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا مِّنْهُ‌ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ١٣

вəсəххōрō лəкум-мəə фии ссəмəəвəəти вəмəə фииль-əрды джəмии'əмм-минh, иннə фии з̃əəликə лə'əəйəəтил-лиќōумий-йəтəфəккəруун

He has disposed for you[r benefit] whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth; all is from Him. There are indeed signs in that for a people who reflect.

قُل لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يَغْفِرُواْ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ أَيَّامَ ٱللَّهِ لِيَجْزِىَ قَوْمَۢا بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ١٤

ќул-лильлəз̃иинə əəмəнуу йəґфируу лильлəз̃иинə лəə йəрджуунə əййəəмə ллаhи лийəджзийə ќōумəмм-бимəə кəəнуу йəксибуун

Say to the faithful to forgive those who do not expect Allah’s days, that He may [Himself] requite every people for what they used to earn.

مَنْ عَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًا فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ‌ۖ وَمَنْ أَسَآءَ فَعَلَيْهَا‌ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ١٥

мəн 'əмилə сōōлиhəн фəлинəфсиh, вəмəн əсəə'ə фə'əлэйhəə, c̃уммə илəə рōббикум турджə'уун

Whoever acts righteously, it is for his own soul, and whoever does evil, it is to its own detriment, then you will be brought back to your Lord.

وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحُكْمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَرَزَقْنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ وَفَضَّلْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ١٦

вəлəќōд əəтəйнəə бəнии исрōō'иилəль-китəəбə вəəльhукмə вə ннубуувəтə вəрōзəќнəəhум-минə т̣т̣ōййибəəти вəфəддōльнəəhум 'əлəəль-'əəлəмиин

Certainly We gave the Children of Israel the Book, judgement and prophethood and We provided them with all the good things. We gave them an advantage over all the nations,

وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم بَيِّنَـٰتٍ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ‌ۖ فَمَا ٱخْتَلَفُوٓاْ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيَۢا بَيْنَهُمْ‌ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِى بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ١٧

вə'əəтəйнəəhумм-бэййинəəтимм-минəль-əмр, фəмəə-хтəлəфуу ильлəə мимм-бə'ди мəə джəə'əhумуль-'ильму бəґйəмм-бэйнəhум, иннə рōббəкə йəќдыы бэйнəhум йəумəль-ќийəəмəти фиимəə кəəнуу фииhи йəхтəлифуун

and We gave them manifest precepts. But they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them, out of envy among themselves. Indeed your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that about which they used to differ.

ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَـٰكَ عَلَىٰ شَرِيعَةٍ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ فَٱتَّبِعْهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ١٨

c̃уммə джə'əльнəəкə 'əлəə шəрии'əтимм-минəль-əмри фəəттəби'həə вəлəə тəттəби' əhвəə'ə льлəз̃иинə лəə йə'лəмуун

Then We set you upon a clear course of the Law; so follow it, and do not follow the desires of those who do not know.

إِنَّهُمْ لَن يُغْنُواْ عَنكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْــًٔا‌ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍ‌ۖ وَٱللَّهُ وَلِىُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ١٩

иннəhум лэй-йуґнуу 'əӈкə минə ллаhи шэй'ə, вəиннə з̃з̃ōōлимиинə бə'дуhум əулийəə'у бə'д, вə ллаhу вəлиййуль-муттəќиин

Indeed they will not avail you in any way against Allah. Indeed the wrongdoers are allies of one another, but Allah is the ally of the Godwary.

هَـٰذَا بَصَـٰٓئِرُ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ٢٠

həəз̃əə бəсōō'иру лин-нəəси вəhудəу-вəрōhмəтул-лиќōумий-йууќинуун

These are eye-openers for mankind, and guidance and mercy for a people who have certainty.

أَمْ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱجْتَرَحُواْ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔـاتِ أَن نَّجْعَلَهُمْ كَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ سَوَآءً مَّحْيَاهُمْ وَمَمَاتُهُمْ‌ۚ سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ٢١

əм həсибə льлəз̃иинə-джтəрōhуу ссəййи'əəти əн-нəдж'əлəhум кəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу вə'əмилюю ссōōлиhəəти сəвəə'əмм-мəhйəəhум вəмəмəəтуhум, сəə'ə мəə йəhкумуун

Do those who have perpetrated misdeeds suppose that We shall treat them like those who have faith and do righteous deeds, their life and death being equal? Evil is the judgement that they make!

وَخَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلِتُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسِۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ٢٢

вəхōлəќō ллаhу ссəмəəвəəти вəəльəрдō биль-həќќи вəлитуджзəə куллю нəфсимм-бимəə кəсəбəт вəhум лəə йуз̃лəмуун

Allah created the heavens and the earth with consummate wisdom, so that every soul may be requited for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.

أَفَرَءَيْتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَـٰهَهُۥ هَوَٮٰهُ وَأَضَلَّهُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ وَخَتَمَ عَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِۦ وَقَلْبِهِۦ وَجَعَلَ عَلَىٰ بَصَرِهِۦ غِشَـٰوَةً فَمَن يَهْدِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ٢٣

əфəрōəйтə мəни-ттəхōз̃ə илəəhəhу həвəəhу вəəдōльлəhу ллаhу 'əлəə 'ильмиу-вəхōтəмə 'əлəə сəм'иhи вəќōльбиhи вəджə'əлə 'əлəə бəсōриhи ґишəəвəтəн фəмəй-йəhдииhи мимм-бə'ди льлəh, əфəлəə тəз̃əккəруун

Have you seen him who has taken his desire to be his god and whom Allah has led astray knowingly, set a seal upon his hearing and heart, and put a blindfold on his sight? So who will guide him after Allah [has consigned him to error]? Will you not then take admonition?

وَقَالُواْ مَا هِىَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَآ إِلَّا ٱلدَّهْرُ‌ۚ وَمَا لَهُم بِذَٲلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ‌ۖ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ٢٤

вəќōōлюю мəə hийə ильлəə həйəəтунəə ддунйəə нəмууту вəнəhйəə вəмəə йуhликунəə ильлəə ддəhр, вəмəə лəhумм-биз̃əəликə мин 'ильм, ин hум ильлəə йəз̃уннуун

They say, ‘There is nothing but the life of this world: we live and we die, and nothing but time destroys us.’ But they do not have any knowledge of that, and they only make conjectures.

وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُنَا بَيِّنَـٰتٍ مَّا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُواْ ٱئْتُواْ بِـَٔـابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ٢٥

вəиз̃əə тутлəə 'əлэйhим əəйəəтунəə бэййинəəтимм-мəə кəəнə hуджджəтəhум ильлəə əӈ-ќōōлюю-'туу би'əəбəə'инəə иӈ-куӈтум сōōдиќиин

When Our manifest signs are recited to them, their only argument is to say, ‘Bring our fathers back [to life], if you are truthful.’

قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ٢٦

ќули льлəhу йуhйиикум c̃уммə йумиитукум c̃уммə йəджмə'укум илəə йəумиль-ќийəəмəти лəə рōйбə фииhи вəлəəкиннə əкc̃əрō ннəəси лəə йə'лəмуун

Say, ‘It is Allah who gives you life, then He makes you die. Then He will gather you on the Day of Resurrection, in which there is no doubt. But most people do not know.’

وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ‌ۚ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَخْسَرُ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ٢٧

вəли-Ллəhи мульку ссəмəəвəəти вəəльəрд, вəйəумə тəќууму ссəə'əту йəумə'из̃ий-йəхсəруль-мубт̣ылююн

To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and when the Hour sets in, the falsifiers will be losers on that day.

وَتَرَىٰ كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ جَاثِيَةً‌ۚ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ تُدْعَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ كِتَـٰبِهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ٢٨

вəтəрōō кульлə уммəтин джəəc̃ийəh, куллю уммəтин туд'əə илəə китəəбиhəəль-йəумə туджзəунə мəə куӈтум тə'мəлююн

And you will see every nation fallen on its knees. Every nation will be summoned to its book: ‘Today you will be requited for what you used to do.

هَـٰذَا كِتَـٰبُنَا يَنطِقُ عَلَيْكُم بِٱلْحَقِّ‌ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَسْتَنسِخُ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ٢٩

həəз̃əə китəəбунəə йəӈт̣ыќу 'əлэйкумм-биль-həќќ, иннəə куннəə нəстəӈсиху мəə куӈтум тə'мəлююн

This is Our book, which speaks truly against you. Indeed We used to record what you used to do.’

فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ فَيُدْخِلُهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ‌ۚ ذَٲلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْمُبِينُ٣٠

фəəммəə льлəз̃иинə əəмəнуу вə'əмилюю ссōōлиhəəти фəйудхылюhум рōббуhум фии рōhмəтиh, з̃əəликə hувəль-фəузуль-мубиин

As for those who have faith and do righteous deeds, their Lord will admit them into His mercy. That is the manifest success!

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَفَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَـٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ وَكُنتُمْ قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ٣١

вəəммəə льлəз̃иинə кəфəруу əфəлəм тəкун əəйəəтии тутлəə 'əлэйкум фəəстəкбəртум вəкуӈтум ќōумəмм-муджримиин

But as for the faithless, [they will be asked,] ‘Were not My signs recited to you? But you were disdainful, and you were a guilty lot.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا قُلْتُم مَّا نَدْرِى مَا ٱلسَّاعَةُ إِن نَّظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنًّا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ٣٢

вəиз̃əə ќиилə иннə вə'дə ллаhи həќќуу-вə ссəə'əту лəə рōйбə фииhəə ќультум-мəə нəдрии мəə ссəə'əту ин-нəз̃унну ильлəə з̃ōннəу-вəмəə нəhну бимустəйќиниин

When it was said, ‘‘Allah’s promise is indeed true, and there is no doubt about the Hour,’’ you said, ‘‘We do not know what the Hour is. We know nothing beyond conjectures, and we do not possess any certainty.’’ ’

وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔـاتُ مَا عَمِلُواْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ٣٣

вəбəдəə лəhум сəййи'əəту мəə 'əмилюю вəhəəќō биhим-мəə кəəнуу биhи йəстəhзи'уун

The evils of what they had done will appear to them, and they will be besieged by what they used to deride.

وَقِيلَ ٱلْيَوْمَ نَنسَـٰكُمْ كَمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَـٰذَا وَمَأْوَٮٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ٣٤

вəќиилəль-йəумə нəӈсəəкум кəмəə нəсиитум лиќōō'ə йəумикум həəз̃əə вəмəвəəкуму ннəəру вəмəə лəкум-мин-нəəсыриин

And it will be said, ‘Today We will forget you, just as you forgot the encounter of this day of yours. The Fire will be your abode, and you will not have any helpers.

ذَٲلِكُم بِأَنَّكُمُ ٱتَّخَذْتُمْ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ هُزُوًا وَغَرَّتْكُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٲةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا‌ۚ فَٱلْيَوْمَ لَا يُخْرَجُونَ مِنْهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ٣٥

з̃əəликумм-биəннəкуму-ттəхōз̃тум əəйəəти льлəhи hузувəу-вəґōррōткумуль-həйəəту ддунйəə, фəəльйəумə лəə йухрōджуунə минhəə вəлəə hум йустə'тəбуун

That is because you took the signs of Allah in derision, and the life of the world had deceived you.’ So today, they will not be brought out of it, nor will they be asked to propitiate [Allah].

فَلِلَّهِ ٱلْحَمْدُ رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَرَبِّ ٱلْأَرْضِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ٣٦

фəли-Ллəhиль-həмду рōбби ссəмəəвəəти вəрōббиль-əрды ррōббиль-'əəлəмиин

So all praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the Lord of the earth, the Lord of all the worlds.

وَلَهُ ٱلْكِبْرِيَآءُ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ‌ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ٣٧

вəлəhуль-кибрийəə'у фии ссəмəəвəəти вəəльəрд, вəhувəль-'əзиизуль-həкиим

To Him belongs all supremacy in the heavens and the earth, and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.
