بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
бисмиль-лəhир-рōhмəəнир-рōhиим
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful. -
5:1
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَوْفُوا بِالْعُقُودِ ۚ أُحِلَّتْ لَكُم بَهِيمَةُ الْأَنْعَامِ إِلَّا مَا يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ غَيْرَ مُحِلِّي الصَّيْدِ وَأَنتُمْ حُرُمٌ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَحْكُمُ مَا يُرِيدُйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу əуфуу би-ль-'уќууди уhильлəт лəкумм-бəhиимəтуль-əн'əəми ильлəə мəə йутлəə 'əлэйкум ґōйрō муhиллиис-сōйди вə`əŋŋтум hурумун иннəл-лаhə йəhкуму мəə йуриид
O you who have faith! Keep your agreements. You are permitted animals of grazing livestock, except what is [now] announced to you, disallowing game while you are in pilgrim sanctity. Indeed Allah decrees whatever He desires. -
5:2
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تُحِلُّوا شَعَائِرَ اللَّهِ وَلَا الشَّهْرَ الْحَرَامَ وَلَا الْهَدْيَ وَلَا الْقَلَائِدَ وَلَا آمِّينَ الْبَيْتَ الْحَرَامَ يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَرِضْوَانًا ۚ وَإِذَا حَلَلْتُمْ فَاصْطَادُوا ۚ وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ أَن صَدُّوكُمْ عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ أَن تَعْتَدُوا ۘ وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу лəə туhиллюю шə'əə`ирōл-лаhи вəлəəш-шəhрōль-həрōōмə вəлəəль-həдйə вəлəəль-ќōлəə`идə вəлəə əəммиинəль-бэйтəль-həрōōмə йəбтəґуунə фəдлəмм-мир-рōббиhим вəридвəəнə, вə`из̃əə həлəльтум фəəстōōдуу, вəлəə йəджримəннəкум шəнə`əəну ќōумин əŋŋ-сōддуукум 'əниль-мəсджидиль-həрōōми əŋŋ-тə'тəдуу вəтə'əəвəнуу 'əлəəль-бирри вəт-тəќвəə, вəлəə тə'əəвəнуу 'əлəəль-иc̃ми вəəль'удвəəн, вəəттəќуул-лаh, иннəл-лаhə шəдиидуль-'иќōōб
O you who have faith! Do not violate Allah’s sacraments, neither the sacred month, nor the offering, nor the necklaces, nor those bound for the Sacred House, who seek their Lord’s grace and [His] pleasure. But when you emerge from pilgrim sanctity, you may hunt for game. Ill feeling for a people should not lead you, because they barred you from [access to] the Sacred Mosque, to transgress. Cooperate in piety and Godwariness, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression, and be wary of Allah. Indeed Allah is severe in retribution. -
5:3
حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَيْتَةُ وَالدَّمُ وَلَحْمُ الْخِنزِيرِ وَمَا أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ بِهِ وَالْمُنْخَنِقَةُ وَالْمَوْقُوذَةُ وَالْمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَالنَّطِيحَةُ وَمَا أَكَلَ السَّبُعُ إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتُمْ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى النُّصُبِ وَأَن تَسْتَقْسِمُوا بِالْأَزْلَامِ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ فِسْقٌ ۗ الْيَوْمَ يَئِسَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن دِينِكُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَاخْشَوْنِ ۚ الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الْإِسْلَامَ دِينًا ۚ فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ فِي مَخْمَصَةٍ غَيْرَ مُتَجَانِفٍ لِّإِثْمٍ ۙ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌhурримəт 'əлэйкумуль-мəйтəту вəд-дəму вəлəhмуль-хыŋŋзиири вəмəə уhильлə лиґōйриль-лəhи биhи вəəльмунхōниќōту вəəльмəуќууз̃əту вəəльмутəрōддийəту вəн-нəтыыhəту вəмəə əкəлəс-сəбу'у ильлəə мəə з̃əккəйтум вəмəə з̃убиhə 'əлəəн-нусуби вə`əŋŋ-тəстəќсимуу би-ль-əзлəəм, з̃əəликум фисќ, əльйəумə йə`исəль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу миŋŋ-дииникум фəлəə тəхшəуhум вəəхшəун, əльйəумə əкмəльту лəкум диинəкум вə`əтмəмту 'əлэйкум ни'мəтии вəрōдыыту лəкумуль-ислəəмə диинə, фəмəни-дтуррō фии мəхмəсōтин ґōйрō мутəджəəнифил-ли`иc̃мин фə`иннəл-лаhə ґōфуурур-рōhиим
You are prohibited carrion, blood, the flesh of swine, and what has been offered to other than Allah, and the animal strangled or beaten to death, and that which dies by falling or is gored to death, and that which is mangled by a beast of prey—barring that which you may purify —and what is sacrificed on stone altars [to idols], and that you should divide by raffling with arrows. All that is transgression. Today the faithless have despaired of your religion. So do not fear them, but fear Me. Today I have perfected your religion for you, and I have completed My blessing upon you, and I have approved Islam as your religion. But should anyone be compelled by hunger, without inclining to sin, then Allah is indeed all-forgiving, all-merciful. -
5:4
يَسْأَلُونَكَ مَاذَا أُحِلَّ لَهُمْ ۖ قُلْ أُحِلَّ لَكُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتُ ۙ وَمَا عَلَّمْتُم مِّنَ الْجَوَارِحِ مُكَلِّبِينَ تُعَلِّمُونَهُنَّ مِمَّا عَلَّمَكُمُ اللَّهُ ۖ فَكُلُوا مِمَّا أَمْسَكْنَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِйəс`əлююнəкə мəəз̃əə уhильлə лəhум, ќуль уhильлə лəкумут-тōййибəəту вəмəə 'əльлəмтум-минəль-джəвəəриhи мукəллибиинə ту'əллимуунəhуннə миммəə 'əльлəмəкумул-лаh, фəкулюю миммəə əмсəкнə 'əлэйкум вəəз̃куруу-смəл-лаhи 'əлэйh, вəəттəќуул-лаh, иннəл-лаhə сəрии'уль-hисəəб
They ask you as to what is lawful to them. Say, ‘All the good things are lawful to you.’ As for what you have taught hunting dogs [to catch], teaching them out of what Allah has taught you, eat of what they catch for you and mention Allah’s Name over it, and be wary of Allah. Indeed Allah is swift at reckoning. -
5:5
الْيَوْمَ أُحِلَّ لَكُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتُ ۖ وَطَعَامُ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ حِلٌّ لَّكُمْ وَطَعَامُكُمْ حِلٌّ لَّهُمْ ۖ وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ إِذَا آتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ مُحْصِنِينَ غَيْرَ مُسَافِحِينَ وَلَا مُتَّخِذِي أَخْدَانٍ ۗ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِالْإِيمَانِ فَقَدْ حَبِطَ عَمَلُهُ وَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَəльйəумə уhильлə лəкумут-тōййибəəт, вəтō'əəмуль-лəз̃иинə уутууль-китəəбə hиллюль-лəкум вəтō'əəмукум hиллюль-лəhум, вəəльмуhсōнəəту минəль-му`минəəти вəəльмуhсōнəəту минəль-лəз̃иинə уутууль-китəəбə миŋŋ-ќōбликум из̃əə əəтəйтумууhуннə уджуурōhуннə муhсыниинə ґōйрō мусəəфиhиинə вəлəə муттəхыз̃ии əхдəəн, вəмəй-йəкфур би-ль-иимəəни фəќōд həбитō 'əмəлюhу вəhувə фииль-əəхырōти минəль-хōōсириин
Today all the good things have been made lawful to you—the food of those who were given the Book is lawful to you, and your food is lawful to them—and the chaste ones from among faithful women, and chaste women of those who were given the Book before you, when you have given them their dowries, in wedlock, not in license, nor taking paramours. Should anyone renounce his faith, his work shall fail and he will be among the losers in the Hereafter. -
5:6
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ إِلَى الْمَرَافِقِ وَامْسَحُوا بِرُءُوسِكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ ۚ وَإِن كُنتُمْ جُنُبًا فَاطَّهَّرُوا ۚ وَإِن كُنتُم مَّرْضَىٰ أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ أَوْ جَاءَ أَحَدٌ مِّنكُم مِّنَ الْغَائِطِ أَوْ لَامَسْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَلَمْ تَجِدُوا مَاءً فَتَيَمَّمُوا صَعِيدًا طَيِّبًا فَامْسَحُوا بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُم مِّنْهُ ۚ مَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيَجْعَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنْ حَرَجٍ وَلَـٰكِن يُرِيدُ لِيُطَهِّرَكُمْ وَلِيُتِمَّ نِعْمَتَهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу из̃əə ќумтум илəəс-сōлəəти фəəґсилюю вуджууhəкум вə`əйдийəкум илəəль-мəрōōфиќи вəəмсəhуу биру`уусикум вə`əрджулəкум илəəль-кə'бəйн, вə`иŋŋ-куŋŋтум джунубəн фəəттōhhəруу, вə`иŋŋ-куŋŋтум-мəрдōō əу 'əлəə сəфəрин əу джəə`ə əhəдумм-миŋŋкум-минəль-ґōō`иты əу лəəмəстумун-нисəə`ə фəлəм тəджидуу мəə`əн фəтəйəммəмуу сō'иидəн тōййибəн фəəмсəhуу бивуджууhикум вə`əйдиикум-минh, мəə йуриидул-лаhу лийəдж'əлə 'əлэйкум-мин həрōджиу-вəлəəкий-йурииду лийутōhhирōкум вəлийутиммə ни'мəтəhу 'əлэйкум лə'əльлəкум тəшкуруун
O you who have faith! When you stand up for prayer, wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, and wipe a part of your heads and your feet, up to the ankles. If you are junub, purify yourselves. But if you are sick, or on a journey, or any of you has come from the toilet, or you have touched women, and you cannot find water, then make tayammum with clean ground and wipe a part of your faces and your hands with it. Allah does not desire to put you to hardship, but He desires to purify you, and to complete His blessing upon you so that you may give thanks. -
5:7
وَاذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَمِيثَاقَهُ الَّذِي وَاثَقَكُم بِهِ إِذْ قُلْتُمْ سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِвəəз̃куруу ни'мəтəл-лаhи 'əлэйкум вəмииc̃əəќōhуль-лəз̃ии вəəc̃əќōкумм-биhи из̃ ќультум сəми'нəə вə`əтō'нəə, вəəттəќуул-лаh, иннəл-лаhə 'əлиимумм-биз̃əəтис-судуур
Remember Allah’s blessing upon you and His covenant with which He has bound you when you said, ‘We hear and obey.’ And be wary of Allah. Indeed Allah knows best what is in the breasts. -
5:8
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّامِينَ لِلَّهِ شُهَدَاءَ بِالْقِسْطِ ۖ وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَىٰ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا ۚ اعْدِلُوا هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу куунуу ќōувəəмиинə лильлəhи шуhəдəə`ə би-ль-ќист, вəлəə йəджримəннəкум шəнə`əəну ќōумин 'əлəə əльлəə тə'дилюу, и'дилюю hувə əќрōбу лит-тəќвəə, вəəттəќуул-лаh, иннəл-лаhə хōбиирумм-бимəə тə'мəлююн
O you who have faith! Be maintainers, as witnesses for the sake of Allah, of justice, and ill feeling for a people should never lead you to be unfair. Be fair; that is nearer to Godwariness, and be wary of Allah. Allah is indeed well aware of what you do. -
5:11
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ هَمَّ قَوْمٌ أَن يَبْسُطُوا إِلَيْكُمْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فَكَفَّ أَيْدِيَهُمْ عَنكُمْ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу-з̃куруу ни'мəтəл-лаhи 'əлэйкум из̃ həммə ќōумун əй-йəбсутуу илəйкум əйдийəhум фəкəффə əйдийəhум 'əŋŋкум, вəəттəќуул-лаh, вə'əлəл-лаhи фəльйəтəвəккəлиль-му`минуун
O you who have faith! Remember Allah’s blessing upon you when a people set out to extend their hands against you, but He withheld their hands from you, and be wary of Allah, and in Allah let all the faithful put their trust. -
5:12
۞ وَلَقَدْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَبَعَثْنَا مِنْهُمُ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ نَقِيبًا ۖ وَقَالَ اللَّهُ إِنِّي مَعَكُمْ ۖ لَئِنْ أَقَمْتُمُ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَيْتُمُ الزَّكَاةَ وَآمَنتُم بِرُسُلِي وَعَزَّرْتُمُوهُمْ وَأَقْرَضْتُمُ اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا لَّأُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنكُمْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ وَلَأُدْخِلَنَّكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۚ فَمَن كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ مِنكُمْ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَاءَ السَّبِيلِвəлəќōд əхōз̃əл-лаhу мииc̃əəќō бəнии исрōō`иилə вəбə'əc̃нəə минhуму-c̃нəй 'əшəрō нəќиибə, вəќōōлəл-лаhу иннии мə'əкум, лə`ин əќōмтумус-сōлəəтə вə`əəтəйтумуз-зəкəəтə вə`əəмəŋŋтумм-бирусулии вə'əззəртумууhум вə`əќрōдтумул-лаhə ќōрдōн həсəнəль-лə`укəффирōннə 'əŋŋкум сəййи`əəтикум вəлə`удхылəннəкум джəннəəтин тəджрии миŋŋ-тəhтиhəəль-əнhəəр, фəмəŋŋ-кəфəрō бə'дə з̃əəликə миŋŋкум фəќōд дōльлə сəвəə`əс-сəбииль
Certainly Allah took a pledge from the Children of Israel, and We raised among them twelve chiefs. And Allah said, ‘I am with you! Surely, if you maintain the prayer and give the zakat and have faith in My apostles and support them and lend Allah a good loan, I will surely absolve you of your misdeeds, and I will surely admit you into gardens with streams running in them. But whoever of you disbelieves after that has certainly strayed from the right way.’ -
5:13
فَبِمَا نَقْضِهِم مِّيثَاقَهُمْ لَعَنَّاهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَا قُلُوبَهُمْ قَاسِيَةً ۖ يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَلِمَ عَن مَّوَاضِعِهِ ۙ وَنَسُوا حَظًّا مِّمَّا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ ۚ وَلَا تَزَالُ تَطَّلِعُ عَلَىٰ خَائِنَةٍ مِّنْهُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِّنْهُمْ ۖ فَاعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَاصْفَحْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَфəбимəə нəќдыhим-мииc̃əəќōhум лə'əннəəhум вəджə'əльнəə ќулююбəhум ќōōсийəh, йуhəррифуунəль-кəлимə 'əмм-мəвəəды'иhи вəнəсуу həз̃з̃ōмм-миммəə з̃уккируу биh, вəлəə тəзəəлю тəттōли'у 'əлəə хōō`инəтимм-минhум ильлəə ќōлиилəмм-минhум, фəə'фу 'əнhум вəəсфəh, иннəл-лаhə йуhиббуль-муhсиниин
Then, because of their breaking their covenant We cursed them and made their hearts hard: they pervert words from their meanings, and have forgotten a part of what they were reminded. You will not cease to learn of some of their treachery, excepting a few of them. Yet excuse them and forbear. Indeed Allah loves the virtuous. -
5:14
وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّا نَصَارَىٰ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَهُمْ فَنَسُوا حَظًّا مِّمَّا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ فَأَغْرَيْنَا بَيْنَهُمُ الْعَدَاوَةَ وَالْبَغْضَاءَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ۚ وَسَوْفَ يُنَبِّئُهُمُ اللَّهُ بِمَا كَانُوا يَصْنَعُونَвəминəль-лəз̃иинə ќōōлюю иннəə нəсōōрōō əхōз̃нəə мииc̃əəќōhум фəнəсуу həз̃з̃ōмм-миммəə з̃уккируу биhи фə`əґрōйнəə бэйнəhумуль-'əдəəвəтə вəəльбəґдōō`ə илəə йəумиль-ќийəəмəh, вəсəуфə йунəбби`уhумул-лаhу бимəə кəəнуу йəснə'уун
Also from those who say, ‘We are Christians,’ We took their pledge; but they forgot a part of what they were reminded. So We stirred up enmity and hatred among them until the Day of Resurrection, and soon Allah will inform them concerning what they had been doing. -
5:15
يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولُنَا يُبَيِّنُ لَكُمْ كَثِيرًا مِّمَّا كُنتُمْ تُخْفُونَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَيَعْفُو عَن كَثِيرٍ ۚ قَدْ جَاءَكُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ نُورٌ وَكِتَابٌ مُّبِينٌйəə əhлəль-китəəби ќōд джəə`əкум рōсуулюнəə йубəййину лəкум кəc̃иирōмм-миммəə куŋŋтум тухфуунə минəль-китəəби вəйə'фуу 'əŋŋ-кəc̃иир, ќōд джəə`əкум-минəл-лаhи нууруу-вəкитəəбумм-мубиин
O People of the Book! Certainly Our Apostle has come to you, clarifying for you much of what you used to hide of the Book, and excusing many [an offense of yours]. Certainly, there has come to you a light from Allah, and a manifest Book. -
5:16
يَهْدِي بِهِ اللَّهُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ رِضْوَانَهُ سُبُلَ السَّلَامِ وَيُخْرِجُهُم مِّنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَيَهْدِيهِمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍйəhдии биhиль-лəhу мəни-ттəбə'ə ридвəəнəhу субулəс-сəлəəми вəйухриджуhум-минəз̃-з̃улюмəəти илəəн-нуури би`из̃ниhи вəйəhдииhим илəə сырōōтымм-мустəќиим
With it Allah guides those who follow [the course of] His pleasure to the ways of peace, and brings them out from darkness into light by His will, and guides them to a straight path. -
5:17
لَّقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ۚ قُلْ فَمَن يَمْلِكُ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا إِنْ أَرَادَ أَن يُهْلِكَ الْمَسِيحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُ وَمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا ۗ وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۚ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌлəќōд кəфəрōль-лəз̃иинə ќōōлюю иннəл-лаhə hувəль-мəсииhу-бну мəрйəм, ќуль фəмəй-йəмлику минəл-лаhи шэй`əн ин əрōōдə əй-йуhликəль-мəсииhə-бнə мəрйəмə вə`уммəhу вəмəŋŋ-фииль-əрды джəмии'ə, вəлильлəhи мулькус-сəмəəвəəти вəəль`əрды вəмəə бэйнəhумəə, йəхлюќу мəə йəшəə, вəл-лаhу 'əлəə кулли шэй`ин ќōдиир
They are certainly faithless who say, ‘Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary.’ Say, ‘Who can avail anything against Allah should He wish to destroy the Messiah, son of Mary, and his mother, and everyone upon the earth?’ To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and whatever is between them. He creates whatever He wishes, and Allah has power over all things. -
5:18
وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَىٰ نَحْنُ أَبْنَاءُ اللَّهِ وَأَحِبَّاؤُهُ ۚ قُلْ فَلِمَ يُعَذِّبُكُم بِذُنُوبِكُم ۖ بَلْ أَنتُم بَشَرٌ مِّمَّنْ خَلَقَ ۚ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُвəќōōлəтиль-йəhууду вəн-нəсōōрōō нəhну əбнəə`ул-лаhи вə`əhиббəə`уh, ќуль фəлимə йу'əз̃з̃ибукумм-биз̃унуубикум, бəль əŋŋтумм-бəшəрумм-миммəн хōлəќ, йəґфиру лимəй-йəшəə`у вəйу'əз̃з̃ибу мəй-йəшəə, вəлильлəhи мулькус-сəмəəвəəти вəəль`əрды вəмəə бэйнəhумəə, вə`илəйhиль-мəсыыр
The Jews and the Christians say, ‘We are Allah’s children and His beloved ones.’ Say, ‘Then why does He punish you for your sins?’ No, you are humans from among His creatures. He forgives whomever He wishes, and punishes whomever He wishes, and to Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and whatever is between them, and toward Him is the return. -
5:19
يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولُنَا يُبَيِّنُ لَكُمْ عَلَىٰ فَتْرَةٍ مِّنَ الرُّسُلِ أَن تَقُولُوا مَا جَاءَنَا مِن بَشِيرٍ وَلَا نَذِيرٍ ۖ فَقَدْ جَاءَكُم بَشِيرٌ وَنَذِيرٌ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌйəə əhлəль-китəəби ќōд джəə`əкум рōсуулюнəə йубəййину лəкум 'əлəə фəтрōтимм-минəр-русули əŋŋ-тəќуулюю мəə джəə`əнəə мимм-бəшиириу-вəлəə нəз̃иир, фəќōд джəə`əкумм-бəшиируу-вəнəз̃иир, вəл-лаhу 'əлəə кулли шэй`ин ќōдиир
O People of the Book! Certainly Our Apostle has come to you, clarifying [the Divine teachings] for you after a gap in [the appearance of] the apostles, lest you should say, ‘There did not come to us any bearer of good news nor any warner.’ Certainly, there has come to you a bearer of good news and a warner. And Allah has power over all things. -
5:20
وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ جَعَلَ فِيكُمْ أَنبِيَاءَ وَجَعَلَكُم مُّلُوكًا وَآتَاكُم مَّا لَمْ يُؤْتِ أَحَدًا مِّنَ الْعَالَمِينَвə`из̃ ќōōлə муусəə лиќōумиhи йəə ќōуми-з̃куруу ни'мəтəл-лаhи 'əлэйкум из̃ джə'əлə фиикум əмм-бийəə`ə вəджə'əлəкум-мулююкəу-вə`əəтəəкум-мəə лəм йу`ти əhəдəмм-минəль-'əəлəмиин
When Moses said to his people, ‘O my people, remember Allah’s blessing upon you when He appointed prophets among you, and made you kings, and gave you what none of the nations were given.
