Alif, Lam, Meem.

غُلِبَتِ ٱلرُّومُ٢

ґулибəти рруум

The Byzantines has been vanquished

فِىٓ أَدْنَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ غَلَبِهِمْ سَيَغْلِبُونَ٣

фии əднəəль-əрды вəhум-мимм-бə'ди ґōлəбиhим сəйəґлибуун

in a nearby land, but they, after their defeat, will be victorious

فِى بِضْعِ سِنِينَ‌ۗ لِلَّهِ ٱلْأَمْرُ مِن قَبْلُ وَمِنۢ بَعْدُ‌ۚ وَيَوْمَئِذٍ يَفْرَحُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ٤

фии бид'и синиин, ли-Ллəhиль-əмру миӈ-ќōблю вəмимм-бə'д, вəйəумə'из̃ий-йəфрōhуль-му'минуун

in a few years. All command belongs to Allah, before this and hereafter, and on that day the faithful will rejoice

بِنَصْرِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ يَنصُرُ مَن يَشَآءُ‌ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ٥

бинəсри льлəh, йəӈсуру мəй-йəшəə', вəhувəль-'əзиизу ррōhиим

at Allah’s help. He helps whomever He wishes, and He is the All-mighty, the All-merciful.

وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱللَّهُ وَعْدَهُۥ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ٦

вə'дə ллаh, лəə йухлифу ллаhу вə'дəhу вəлəəкиннə əкc̃əрō ннəəси лəə йə'лəмуун

[This is] a promise of Allah: Allah does not break His promise, but most people do not know.

يَعْلَمُونَ ظَـٰهِرًا مِّنَ ٱلْحَيَوٲةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْأَخِرَةِ هُمْ غَـٰفِلُونَ٧

йə'лəмуунə з̃ōōhирōмм-минəль-həйəəти ддунйəə вəhум 'əниль-'əəхырōти hум ґōōфилююн

They know just an outward aspect of the life of the world, but they are oblivious of the Hereafter.

أَوَلَمْ يَتَفَكَّرُواْ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِم‌ۗ مَّا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى‌ۗ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِلِقَآىِٕ رَبِّهِمْ لَكَـٰفِرُونَ٨

əвəлəм йəтəфəккəруу фии əӈфусиhим, мəə хōлəќō ллаhу ссəмəəвəəти вəəльəрдō вəмəə бэйнəhумəə ильлəə биль-həќќи вəəджəлимм-мусəммəн, вəиннə кəc̃иирōмм-минə ннəəси билиќōō'и рōббиhим лəкəəфируун

Have they not reflected in their own souls? Allah did not create the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them except with consummate wisdom and for a specified term. Indeed many people disbelieve in the encounter with their Lord.

أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُواْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُواْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ‌ۚ كَانُوٓاْ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَأَثَارُواْ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَعَمَرُوهَآ أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا عَمَرُوهَا وَجَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ‌ۖ فَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ٩

əвəлəм йəсиируу фииль-əрды фəйəӈз̃уруу кəйфə кəəнə 'əəќибəту льлəз̃иинə миӈ-ќōблиhим, кəəнуу əшəддə минhум ќуувəтəу-вəəc̃əəрууль-əрдō вə'əмəрууhəə əкc̃əрō миммəə 'əмəрууhəə вəджəə'əтhум русулюhумм-биль-бэййинəəт, фəмəə кəəнə ллаhу лийəз̃лимəhум вəлəəкиӈ-кəəнуу əӈфусəhум йəз̃лимуун

Have they not travelled in the land and seen how was the fate of those who were before them? They were more powerful than them, and they plowed the earth and developed it more than they have developed it. Their apostles brought them manifest proofs. So it was not Allah who wronged them, but it was they who used to wrong themselves.

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَـٰٓـــُٔواْ ٱلسُّوٓأَىٰٓ أَن كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَانُواْ بِهَا يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ١٠

c̃уммə кəəнə 'əəќибəтə льлəз̃иинə əсəə'уу ссууəə əӈ-кəз̃з̃əбуу би'əəйəəти льлəhи вəкəəнуу биhəə йəстəhзи'уун

Then the fate of those who committed misdeeds was that they denied the signs of Allah and they used to deride them.

ٱللَّهُ يَبْدَؤُاْ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ١١

əллаhу йəбдəуль-хōльќō c̃уммə йу'иидуhу c̃уммə илəйhи турджə'уун

Allah originates the creation, then He will bring it back, then you will be brought back to Him.

وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يُبْلِسُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ١٢

вəйəумə тəќууму ссəə'əту йублисуль-муджримуун

And when the Hour sets in, the guilty will despair.

وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُم مِّن شُرَكَآئِهِمْ شُفَعَـٰٓؤُاْ وَكَانُواْ بِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ كَـٰفِرِينَ١٣

вəлəм йəкуль-лəhум-миӈ-шурōкəə'иhим шуфə'əə'у вəкəəнуу бишурōкəə'иhим кəəфириин

None of those whom they ascribed as partners [to Allah] will intercede for them, and they will disavow their partners.

وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَفَرَّقُونَ١٤

вəйəумə тəќууму ссəə'əту йəумə'из̃ий-йəтəфəррōќуун

The day the Hour sets in, they will be divided on that day [in separate groups]:

فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ فَهُمْ فِى رَوْضَةٍ يُحْبَرُونَ١٥

фəəммəə льлəз̃иинə əəмəнуу вə'əмилюю ссōōлиhəəти фəhум фии рōудōтий-йуhбəруун

As for those who have faith and do righteous deeds, they shall be in a garden, rejoicing.

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا وَلِقَآىِٕ ٱلْأَخِرَةِ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُحْضَرُونَ١٦

вəəммəə льлəз̃иинə кəфəруу вəкəз̃з̃əбуу би'əəйəəтинəə вəлиќōō'иль-'əəхырōти фəуулəə'икə фииль-'əз̃əəби муhдōруун

But as for those who were faithless and denied Our signs and the encounter of the Hereafter, they will be brought to the punishment.

فَسُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ حِينَ تُمْسُونَ وَحِينَ تُصْبِحُونَ١٧

фəсубhəəнə ллаhи hиинə тумсуунə вəhиинə тусбиhуун

So glorify Allah when you enter evening and when you rise at dawn.

وَلَهُ ٱلْحَمْدُ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَعَشِيًّا وَحِينَ تُظْهِرُونَ١٨

вəлəhуль-həмду фии ссəмəəвəəти вəəльəрды вə'əшиййəу-вəhиинə туз̃hируун

To Him belongs all praise in the heavens and the earth, at nightfall and when you enter noontime.

يُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَيُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ وَيُحْىِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا‌ۚ وَكَذَٲلِكَ تُخْرَجُونَ١٩

йухриджуль-həййə минəль-мəййити вəйухриджуль-мəййитə минəль-həййи вəйуhйииль-əрдō бə'дə мəутиhəə, вəкəз̃əəликə тухрōджуун

He brings forth the living from the dead, and brings forth the dead from the living, and revives the earth after its death. Likewise, you [too] shall be raised [from the dead].

وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ أَنْ خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَنتُم بَشَرٌ تَنتَشِرُونَ٢٠

вəмин əəйəəтиhи əн хōлəќōкум-миӈ-турōōбин c̃уммə из̃əə əӈтумм-бəшəрун тəӈтəшируун

Of His signs is that He created you from dust, then, behold, you are humans scattering [all over]!

وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٲجًا لِّتَسْكُنُوٓاْ إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَّوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً‌ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ٢١

вəмин əəйəəтиhи əн хōлəќō лəкум-мин əӈфусикум əзвəəджəл-литəскунуу илəйhəə вəджə'əлə бэйнəкум-мəвəддəтəу-вəрōhмəh, иннə фии з̃əəликə лə'əəйəəтил-лиќōумий-йəтəфəккəруун

And of His signs is that He created for you mates from your own selves that you may take comfort in them, and He ordained affection and mercy between you. There are indeed signs in that for a people who reflect.

وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ خَلْقُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱخْتِلَـٰفُ أَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَأَلْوَٲنِكُمْ‌ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَـٰتٍ لِّلْعَـٰلِمِينَ٢٢

вəмин əəйəəтиhи хōльќу ссəмəəвəəти вəəльəрды вəəхтилəəфу əльсинəтикум вəəльвəəникум, иннə фии з̃əəликə лə'əəйəəтил-ли-ль-'əəлимиин

Among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of your languages and colours. There are indeed signs in that for those who know.

وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ مَنَامُكُم بِٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱبْتِغَآؤُكُم مِّن فَضْلِهِۦٓ‌ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَسْمَعُونَ٢٣

вəмин əəйəəтиhи мəнəəмукумм-биль-лэйли вə ннəhəəри вəəбтиґōō'укум-миӈ-фəдлиh, иннə фии з̃əəликə лə'əəйəəтил-лиќōумий-йəсмə'уун

And of His signs is your sleep by night and day, and your pursuit of His bounty. There are indeed signs in that for a people who listen.

وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ يُرِيكُمُ ٱلْبَرْقَ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَيُحْىِۦ بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَآ‌ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ٢٤

вəмин əəйəəтиhи йуриикумуль-бəрќō хōуфəу-вəт̣ōмə'əу-вəйунəззилю минə ссəмəə'и мəə'əн фəйуhйии биhиль-əрдō бə'дə мəутиhəə, иннə фии з̃əəликə лə'əəйəəтил-лиќōумий-йə'ќилююн

And of His signs is that He shows you the lightning, arousing fear and hope, and He sends down water from the sky, and with it revives the earth after its death. There are indeed signs in that for people who exercise their reason.

وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ أَن تَقُومَ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ بِأَمْرِهِۦ‌ۚ ثُمَّ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ دَعْوَةً مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ إِذَآ أَنتُمْ تَخْرُجُونَ٢٥

вəмин əəйəəтиhи əӈ-тəќуумə ссəмəə'у вəəльəрду биəмриh, c̃уммə из̃əə дə'əəкум дə'вəтəмм-минəль-əрды из̃əə əӈтум тəхруджуун

And of His signs is that the sky and the earth stand by His command, and then, when He calls you forth from the earth, behold, you will come forth.

وَلَهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ‌ۖ كُلٌّ لَّهُۥ قَـٰنِتُونَ٢٦

вəлəhу мəӈ-фии ссəмəəвəəти вəəльəрд, куллюль-лəhу ќōōнитуун

To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. All are obedient to Him.

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يَبْدَؤُاْ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥ وَهُوَ أَهْوَنُ عَلَيْهِ‌ۚ وَلَهُ ٱلْمَثَلُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ‌ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ٢٧

вəhувə льлəз̃ии йəбдəуль-хōльќō c̃уммə йу'иидуhу вəhувə əhвəну 'əлэйh, вəлəhуль-мəc̃əлюль-ə'лəə фии ссəмəəвəəти вəəльəрд, вəhувəль-'əзиизуль-həкиим

It is He who originates the creation, and then He will bring it back—and that is more simple for Him. His is the loftiest description in the heavens and the earth, and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.

ضَرَبَ لَكُم مَّثَلاً مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ‌ۖ هَل لَّكُم مِّن مَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَـٰنُكُم مِّن شُرَكَآءَ فِى مَا رَزَقْنَـٰكُمْ فَأَنتُمْ فِيهِ سَوَآءٌ تَخَافُونَهُمْ كَخِيفَتِكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ‌ۚ كَذَٲلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلْأَيَـٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ٢٨

дōрōбə лəкум-мəc̃əлəмм-мин əӈфусикум, həль-лəкум-мимм-мəə мəлəкəт əймəəнукум-миӈ-шурōкəə'ə фии мəə рōзəќнəəкум фəəӈтум фииhи сəвəə'ун тəхōōфуунəhум кəхыыфəтикум əӈфусəкум, кəз̃əəликə нуфəссылюль-'əəйəəти лиќōумий-йə'ќилююн

He draws for you an example from yourselves: Do you have among your slaves any partners [who may share] in what We have provided you, so that you are equal in its respect, and you revere them as you revere one another? Thus do We elaborate the signs for people who exercise their reason.

بَلِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَهْوَآءَهُم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ‌ۖ فَمَن يَهْدِى مَنْ أَضَلَّ ٱللَّهُ‌ۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ٢٩

бəли-ттəбə'ə льлəз̃иинə з̃ōлəмуу əhвəə'əhумм-биґōйри 'ильм, фəмəй-йəhдии мəн əдōльлə ллаh, вəмəə лəhум-мин-нəəсыриин

Indeed, the wrongdoers follow their own desires without any knowledge. So who will guide those whom Allah has led astray? They will have no helpers.

فَأَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفًا‌ۚ فِطْرَتَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِى فَطَرَ ٱلنَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا‌ۚ لَا تَبْدِيلَ لِخَلْقِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ ذَٲلِكَ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْقَيِّمُ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ٣٠

фəəќим вəджhəкə лид-диини həниифə, фит̣рōтə ллаhи льлəтии фəт̣ōрō ннəəсə 'əлэйhəə, лəə тəбдиилə лихōльќи льлəh, з̃əəликə ддиинуль-ќōййиму вəлəəкиннə əкc̃əрō ннəəси лəə йə'лəмуун

So set your heart as a person of pure faith on this religion, the original nature endowed by Allah according to which He originated mankind (There is no altering Allah’s creation; that is the upright religion, but most people do not know.)

مُنِيبِينَ إِلَيْهِ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٲةَ وَلَا تَكُونُواْ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ٣١

муниибиинə илəйhи вəəттəќууhу вəəќиимуу ссōлəəтə вəлəə тəкуунуу минəль-мушрикиин

—turning to Him in penitence, and be wary of Him, and maintain the prayer, and do not be one of the polytheists

مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُواْ دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُواْ شِيَعًا‌ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبِۭ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ٣٢

минə льлəз̃иинə фəррōќуу диинəhум вəкəəнуу шийə'ə, куллю hизбимм-бимəə лəдəйhим фəриhуун

—those who split up their religion and became sects: each faction boasting about what it possessed.

وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلنَّاسَ ضُرٌّ دَعَوْاْ رَبَّهُم مُّنِيبِينَ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَذَاقَهُم مِّنْهُ رَحْمَةً إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ٣٣

вəиз̃əə мəссə ннəəсə дуррун дə'əу рōббəhум-муниибиинə илəйhи c̃уммə из̃əə əз̃əəќōhум-минhу рōhмəтəн из̃əə фəрииќумм-минhумм-бирōббиhим йушрикуун

When distress befalls people, they supplicate their Lord, turning to Him in penitence. Then, when He lets them taste His mercy, behold, a part of them ascribe partners to their Lord,

لِيَكْفُرُواْ بِمَآ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ‌ۚ فَتَمَتَّعُواْ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ٣٤

лийəкфуруу бимəə əəтəйнəəhум, фəтəмəттə'уу фəсəуфə тə'лəмуун

being ungrateful toward what We have given them. So let them enjoy. Soon they will know!

أَمْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَـٰنًا فَهُوَ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِمَا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يُشْرِكُونَ٣٥

əм əӈзəльнəə 'əлэйhим сульт̣ōōнəн фəhувə йəтəкəльлəму бимəə кəəнуу биhи йушрикуун

Have We sent down to them any authority which might assert what they associate with Him?

وَإِذَآ أَذَقْنَا ٱلنَّاسَ رَحْمَةً فَرِحُواْ بِهَا‌ۖ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةُۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ إِذَا هُمْ يَقْنَطُونَ٣٦

вəиз̃əə əз̃əќнəə ннəəсə рōhмəтəн фəриhуу биhəə, вəиӈ-тусыбhум сəййи'əтумм-бимəə ќōддəмəт əйдииhим из̃əə hум йəќнəт̣уун

When We let people taste [Our] mercy, they boast about it; but should an ill visit them because of what their hands have sent ahead, behold, they become despondent!

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقْدِرُ‌ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ٣٧

əвəлəм йəрōу əннə ллаhə йəбсут̣у рризќō лимəй-йəшəə'у вəйəќдир, иннə фии з̃əəликə лə'əəйəəтил-лиќōумий-йу'минуун

Do they not see that Allah expands the provision for whomever He wishes, and tightens it? There are indeed signs in that for a people who have faith.

فَـَٔـاتِ ذَا ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ حَقَّهُۥ وَٱلْمِسْكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ‌ۚ ذَٲلِكَ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَ ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ٣٨

фə'əəти з̃əəль-ќурбəə həќќōhу вəəльмискиинə вəəбнə ссəбииль, з̃əəликə хōйрул-лильлəз̃иинə йуриидуунə вəджhə ллаh, вə-уулəə'икə hумуль-муфлиhуун

Give the relative his due, and the needy and the traveller [as well]. That is better for those who seek Allah’s pleasure, and it is they who are the felicitous.

وَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُم مِّن رِّبًا لِّيَرْبُوَاْ فِىٓ أَمْوَٲلِ ٱلنَّاسِ فَلَا يَرْبُواْ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ وَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُم مِّن زَكَوٲةٍ تُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَ ٱللَّهِ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُضْعِفُونَ٣٩

вəмəə əəтəйтум-мир-рибəл-лийəрбувə фии əмвəəли ннəəси фəлəə йəрбуу 'иӈдə ллаh, вəмəə əəтəйтум-миӈ-зəкəəтин туриидуунə вəджhə ллаhи фəуулəə'икə hумуль-муд'ифуун

What you give in usury in order that it may increase people’s wealth does not increase with Allah. But what you pay as zakat seeking Allah’s pleasure—it is they who will be given a manifold increase.

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ رَزَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ‌ۖ هَلْ مِن شُرَكَآئِكُم مَّن يَفْعَلُ مِن ذَٲلِكُم مِّن شَىْءٍ‌ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ٤٠

əллаhу льлəз̃ии хōлəќōкум c̃уммə рōзəќōкум c̃уммə йумиитукум c̃уммə йуhйиикум, həль миӈ-шурōкəə'икум-мəй-йəф'əлю миӈ-з̃əəликум-миӈ-шэй', субhəəнəhу вəтə'əəлəə 'əммəə йушрикуун

It is Allah who created you and then He provided for you, then He makes you die, then He will bring you to life. Is there anyone among your ‘partners’ who does anything of that kind? Immaculate is He and exalted above [having] any partners that they ascribe [to Him]!

ظَهَرَ ٱلْفَسَادُ فِى ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِى ٱلنَّاسِ لِيُذِيقَهُم بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى عَمِلُواْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ٤١

з̃ōhəрōль-фəсəəду фииль-бəрри вəəльбəhри бимəə кəсəбəт əйдии ннəəси лийуз̃ииќōhумм-бə'дō льлəз̃ии 'əмилюю лə'əльлəhум йəрджи'уун

Corruption has appeared in land and sea because of the doings of the people’s hands, that He may make them taste something of what they have done, so that they may come back.

قُلْ سِيرُواْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُواْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلُ‌ۚ كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّشْرِكِينَ٤٢

ќуль сиируу фииль-əрды фəəӈз̃уруу кəйфə кəəнə 'əəќибəту льлəз̃иинə миӈ-ќōбль, кəəнə əкc̃əруhум-мушрикиин

Say, ‘Travel over the land, and see how was the fate of those who were before [you], most of whom were polytheists.’

فَأَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ ٱلْقَيِّمِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِىَ يَوْمٌ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصَّدَّعُونَ٤٣

фəəќим вəджhəкə лид-дииниль-ќōййими миӈ-ќōбли əй-йəтийə йəумуль-лəə мəрōддə лəhу минə ллаh, йəумə'из̃ий-йəссōддə'уун

So set your heart on the upright religion, before there comes a day irrevocable from Allah. On that day they shall be split [into various groups].

مَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَيْهِ كُفْرُهُۥ‌ۖ وَمَنْ عَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًا فَلِأَنفُسِهِمْ يَمْهَدُونَ٤٤

мəӈ-кəфəрō фə'əлэйhи куфруh, вəмəн 'əмилə сōōлиhəн фəлиəӈфусиhим йəмhəдуун

Whoever is faithless shall face the consequences of his faithlessness, and those who act righteously only prepare for their own souls,

لِيَجْزِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ مِن فَضْلِهِۦٓ‌ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ٤٥

лийəджзийə льлəз̃иинə əəмəнуу вə'əмилюю ссōōлиhəəти миӈ-фəдлиh, иннəhу лəə йуhиббуль-кəəфириин

so that He may reward those who have faith and do righteous deeds out of His grace. Indeed, He does not like the faithless.

وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ أَن يُرْسِلَ ٱلرِّيَاحَ مُبَشِّرَٲتٍ وَلِيُذِيقَكُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِهِۦ وَلِتَجْرِىَ ٱلْفُلْكُ بِأَمْرِهِۦ وَلِتَبْتَغُواْ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ٤٦

вəмин əəйəəтиhи əй-йурсилə ррийəəhə мубəшширōōтиу-вəлийуз̃ииќōкум-мир-рōhмəтиhи вəлитəджрийəль-фульку биəмриhи вəлитəбтəґуу миӈ-фəдлиhи вəлə'əльлəкум тəшкуруун

And of His signs is that He sends the winds as bearers of good news and to let you taste of His mercy, and that the ships may sail by His command, and that you may seek of His bounty, and so that you may give [Him] thanks.

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ رُسُلاً إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِمْ فَجَآءُوهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُواْ‌ۖ وَكَانَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنَا نَصْرُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ٤٧

вəлəќōд əрсəльнəə миӈ-ќōбликə русулəн илəə ќōумиhим фəджəə'ууhумм-биль-бэййинəəти фəəӈтəќōмнəə минə льлəз̃иинə əджрōмуу, вəкəəнə həќќōн 'əлэйнəə нəсруль-му'миниин

Certainly We sent apostles to their people before you, and they brought them manifest proofs. Then We took vengeance upon those who were guilty, and it was a must for Us to help the faithful.

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى يُرْسِلُ ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ فَتُثِيرُ سَحَابًا فَيَبْسُطُهُۥ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ يَشَآءُ وَيَجْعَلُهُۥ كِسَفًا فَتَرَى ٱلْوَدْقَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ خِلَـٰلِهِۦ‌ۖ فَإِذَآ أَصَابَ بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦٓ إِذَا هُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ٤٨

əллаhу льлəз̃ии йурсилю ррийəəhə фəтуc̃ииру сəhəəбəн фəйəбсут̣уhу фии ссəмəə'и кəйфə йəшəə'у вəйəдж'əлюhу кисəфəн фəтəрōōль-вəдќō йəхруджу мин хылəəлиh, фəиз̃əə əсōōбə биhи мəй-йəшəə'у мин 'ибəəдиhи из̃əə hум йəстəбшируун

It is Allah who sends the winds. Then they generate a cloud, then He spreads it as He wishes in the sky, and forms it into fragments, whereat you see the rain issuing from its midst. Then, when He strikes with it whomever of His servants that He wishes, behold, they rejoice;

وَإِن كَانُواْ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْهِم مِّن قَبْلِهِۦ لَمُبْلِسِينَ٤٩

вəиӈ-кəəнуу миӈ-ќōбли əй-йунəззəлə 'əлэйhим-миӈ-ќōблиhи лəмублисиин

and indeed they had been despondent earlier, before it was sent down upon them.

فَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِ رَحْمَتِ ٱللَّهِ كَيْفَ يُحْىِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَآ‌ۚ إِنَّ ذَٲلِكَ لَمُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ‌ۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ٥٠

фəəӈз̃ур илəə əəc̃əəри рōhмəти льлəhи кəйфə йуhйииль-əрдō бə'дə мəутиhəə, иннə з̃əəликə лəмуhйииль-мəутəə, вəhувə 'əлəə кулли шэй'ин ќōдиир

So observe the effects of Allah’s mercy: how He revives the earth after its death! Indeed He is the reviver of the dead, and He has power over all things.

وَلَئِنْ أَرْسَلْنَا رِيحًا فَرَأَوْهُ مُصْفَرًّا لَّظَلُّواْ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ يَكْفُرُونَ٥١

вəлə'ин əрсəльнəə рииhəн фəрōəуhу мусфəррōль-лəз̃ōллюю мимм-бə'диhи йəкфуруун

And if We send a wind and they see it turn yellow, they will surely become ungrateful after that.

فَإِنَّكَ لَا تُسْمِعُ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَلَا تُسْمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا وَلَّوْاْ مُدْبِرِينَ٥٢

фəиннəкə лəə тусми'уль-мəутəə вəлəə тусми'у ссуммə дду'əə'ə из̃əə вəльлəу мудбириин

Indeed you cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs [upon you],

وَمَآ أَنتَ بِهَـٰدِ ٱلْعُمْىِ عَن ضَلَـٰلَتِهِمْ‌ۖ إِن تُسْمِعُ إِلَّا مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا فَهُم مُّسْلِمُونَ٥٣

вəмəə əӈтə биhəəдиль-'умйи 'əӈ-дōлəəлəтиhим, иӈ-тусми'у ильлəə мəй-йу'мину би'əəйəəтинəə фəhум-муслимуун

nor can you lead the blind out of their error. You can make only those hear who have faith in Our signs and have submitted.

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن ضَعْفٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ضَعْفٍ قُوَّةً ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ ضَعْفًا وَشَيْبَةً‌ۚ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ‌ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٱلْقَدِيرُ٥٤

əллаhу льлəз̃ии хōлəќōкум-миӈ-дō'фин c̃уммə джə'əлə мимм-бə'ди дō'фин ќуувəтəн c̃уммə джə'əлə мимм-бə'ди ќуувəтин дō'фəу-вəшэйбəh, йəхлюќу мəə йəшəə', вəhувəль-'əлиимуль-ќōдиир

It is Allah who created you from [a state of] weakness, then He gave you power after weakness. Then, after power, He ordained weakness and old age: He creates whatever He wishes, and He is the All-knowing, the All-powerful.

وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يُقْسِمُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ مَا لَبِثُواْ غَيْرَ سَاعَةٍ‌ۚ كَذَٲلِكَ كَانُواْ يُؤْفَكُونَ٥٥

вəйəумə тəќууму ссəə'əту йуќсимуль-муджримуунə мəə лəбиc̃уу ґōйрō сəə'əh, кəз̃əəликə кəəнуу йу'фəкуун

On the day when the Hour sets in, the guilty will swear that they had remained only for an hour. That is how they were used to lying [in the world].

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلْعِلْمَ وَٱلْإِيمَـٰنَ لَقَدْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِى كِتَـٰبِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْبَعْثِ‌ۖ فَهَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْبَعْثِ وَلَـٰكِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ٥٦

вəќōōлə льлəз̃иинə уутууль-'ильмə вəəльиимəəнə лəќōд лəбиc̃тум фии китəəби льлəhи илəə йəумиль-бə'c̃, фəhəəз̃əə йəумуль-бə'c̃и вəлəəкиннəкум куӈтум лəə тə'лəмуун

But those who were given knowledge and faith will say, ‘Certainly you remained in Allah’s Book until the Day of Resurrection. This is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not know.’

فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يَنفَعُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مَعْذِرَتُهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ٥٧

фəйəумə'из̃иль-лəə йəӈфə'у льлəз̃иинə з̃ōлəмуу мə'з̃ирōтуhум вəлəə hум йустə'тəбуун

On that day, the excuses of the wrongdoers will not benefit them, nor will they be asked to propitiate [Allah].

وَلَقَدْ ضَرَبْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِى هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍ‌ۚ وَلَئِن جِئْتَهُم بِـَٔـايَةٍ لَّيَقُولَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا مُبْطِلُونَ٥٨

вəлəќōд дōрōбнəə лин-нəəси фии həəз̃əəль-ќур'əəни миӈ-кулли мəc̃əль, вəлə'иӈ-джи'тəhумм-би'əəйəтиль-лəйəќуулəннə льлəз̃иинə кəфəруу ин əӈтум ильлəə мубт̣ылююн

Certainly we have drawn for mankind in this Quran every [kind of] parable. Indeed if you bring them a sign, the faithless will surely say, ‘You are nothing but fabricators!’

كَذَٲلِكَ يَطْبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ٥٩

кəз̃əəликə йəт̣бə'у ллаhу 'əлəə ќулююби льлəз̃иинə лəə йə'лəмуун

Thus does Allah seal the hearts of those who do not know.

فَٱصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ‌ۖ وَلَا يَسْتَخِفَّنَّكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُوقِنُونَ٦٠

фəəсбир иннə вə'дə ллаhи həќќ, вəлəə йəстəхыффəннəкə льлəз̃иинə лəə йууќинуун

So be patient! Allah’s promise is indeed true. And do not let yourself be upset by those who have no conviction.
