surah013

الٓمٓر‌ۚ تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ‌ۗ وَٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ١

Алиф, лəм, мим, ра. тилькə əəйəəтуль-китəəби вəль-лəз̃ии уӈзилə илəйкə мир-рōббикəль-həќќу вəлəəкиннə əкc̃əрō ннəəси лəə йу'минуун

Alif, Lam, Mim, Ra. These are the signs of the Book. That which has been sent down to you from your Lord is the truth, but most people do not believe [in it].

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى رَفَعَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا‌ۖ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ‌ۖ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ‌ۖ كُلٌّ يَجْرِى لِأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى‌ۚ يُدَبِّرُ ٱلْأَمْرَ يُفَصِّلُ ٱلْأَيَـٰتِ لَعَلَّكُم بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّكُمْ تُوقِنُونَ٢

əллаhу льлəз̃ии рōфə'ə ссəмəəвəəти биґōйри 'əмəдин тəрōунəhəə, c̃уммə-стəвəə 'əлəəль-'əрш, вəсəххōрō шшəмсə вəəльќōмəр, куллюй-йəджрии лиəджəлимм-мусəммəн, йудəббируль-əмрō йуфəссылюль-'əəйəəти лə'əльлəкумм-билиќōō'и рōббикум тууќинуун

It is Allah who raised the heavens without any pillars that you see, and then presided over the Throne. He disposed the sun and the moon, each moving for a specified term. He directs the command, [and] elaborates the signs that you may be certain of encountering your Lord.

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى مَدَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَٲسِىَ وَأَنْهَـٰرًا‌ۖ وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٲتِ جَعَلَ فِيهَا زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ‌ۖ يُغْشِى ٱلَّيْلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ‌ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ٣

вəhувə льлəз̃ии мəддəль-əрдō вəджə'əлə фииhəə рōвəəсийə вəəнhəəрō, вəмиӈ-кулли c̃c̃əмəрōōти джə'əлə фииhəə зəуджəйни-c̃нəйн, йуґшии льлэйлə ннəhəəр, иннə фии з̃əəликə лə'əəйəəтил-лиќōумий-йəтəфəккəруун

It is He who has spread out the earth and set in it firm mountains and streams, and of every fruit in it He has made two kinds. He draws the night’s cover over the day. There are indeed signs in that for a people who reflect.

وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ قِطَعٌ مُّتَجَـٰوِرَٲتٌ وَجَنَّـٰتٌ مِّنْ أَعْنَـٰبٍ وَزَرْعٌ وَنَخِيلٌ صِنْوَانٌ وَغَيْرُ صِنْوَانٍ يُسْقَىٰ بِمَآءٍ وَٲحِدٍ وَنُفَضِّلُ بَعْضَهَا عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فِى ٱلْأُكُلِ‌ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ٤

вəфииль-əрды ќит̣ō'умм-мутəджəəвирōōтуу-вəджəннəəтумм-мин ə'нəəбиу-вəзəр'уу-вəнəхыылюн сынвəəнуу-вəґōйру сынвəəний-йусќōō бимəə'иу-вəəhидиу-вəнуфəддылю бə'дōhəə 'əлəə бə'дын фииль-укуль, иннə фии з̃əəликə лə'əəйəəтил-лиќōумий-йə'ќилююн

In the earth are neighbouring terrains [of diverse kinds] and vineyards, farms, and date palms growing from the same root and from diverse roots, [all] irrigated by the same water, and We give some of them an advantage over others in flavour. There are indeed signs in that for people who exercise their reason.

وَإِن تَعْجَبْ فَعَجَبٌ قَوْلُهُمْ أَءِذَا كُنَّا تُرَٲبًا أَءِنَّا لَفِى خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ‌ۗ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمْ‌ۖ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلْأَغْلَـٰلُ فِىٓ أَعْنَاقِهِمْ‌ۖ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ‌ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ٥

вəиӈ-тə'джəб фə'əджəбун ќōулюhум əиз̃əə куннəə турōōбəн əиннəə лəфии хōльќин джəдиид, уулəə'икə льлəз̃иинə кəфəруу бирōббиhим, вə-уулəə'икəль-əґлəəлю фии ə'нəəќиhим, вə-уулəə'икə əсhəəбу ннəəр, hум фииhəə хōōлидуун

If you are to wonder [at anything], then wonderful is their remark, ‘When we have become dust, shall we be [ushered] into a new creation?’ They are the ones who defy their Lord; they shall have iron collars around their necks, they shall be the inhabitants of the Fire, and they shall remain in it [forever].

وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ قَبْلَ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِمُ ٱلْمَثُلَـٰتُ‌ۗ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغْفِرَةٍ لِّلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ ظُلْمِهِمْ‌ۖ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَشَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ٦

вəйəстə'джилююнəкə бис-сəййи'əти ќōблəль-həсəнəти вəќōд хōлəт миӈ-ќōблиhимуль-мəc̃улəəт, вəиннə рōббəкə лəз̃уу мəґфирōтил-лин-нəəси 'əлəə з̃ульмиhим, вəиннə рōббəкə лəшəдиидуль-'иќōōб

They would press you for evil sooner than for good, though there have already gone by before them exemplary punishments. Indeed your Lord is forgiving to mankind despite their wrongdoing, and indeed your Lord is severe in retribution.

وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦٓ‌ۗ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرٌ‌ۖ وَلِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ هَادٍ٧

вəйəќуулю льлəз̃иинə кəфəруу лəулəə уӈзилə 'əлэйhи əəйəтумм-мир-рōббиh, иннəмəə əӈтə муӈз̃ир, вəликулли ќōумин həəд

The faithless say, ‘Why has not some sign been sent down to him from his Lord?’ You are only a warner, and there is a guide for every people.

ٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ أُنثَىٰ وَمَا تَغِيضُ ٱلْأَرْحَامُ وَمَا تَزْدَادُ‌ۖ وَكُلُّ شَىْءٍ عِندَهُۥ بِمِقْدَارٍ٨

əллаhу йə'лəму мəə тəhмилю куллю уӈc̃əə вəмəə тəґиидуль-əрhəəму вəмəə тəздəəд, вəкуллю шэй'ин 'иӈдəhу бимиќдəəр

Allah knows what every female carries [in her womb], and what the wombs reduce and what they increase, and everything is by [precise] measure with Him,

عَـٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ ٱلْكَبِيرُ ٱلْمُتَعَالِ٩

'əəлимуль-ґōйби вə шшəhəəдəтиль-кəбиируль-мутə'əəль

the Knower of the sensible and the Unseen, the All-great, the All-sublime.

سَوَآءٌ مِّنكُم مَّنْ أَسَرَّ ٱلْقَوْلَ وَمَن جَهَرَ بِهِۦ وَمَنْ هُوَ مُسْتَخْفِۭ بِٱلَّيْلِ وَسَارِبُۢ بِٱلنَّهَارِ١٠

сəвəə'умм-миӈкум-мəн əсəррōль-ќōулə вəмəӈ-джəhəрō биhи вəмəн hувə мустəхфимм-биль-лэйли вəсəəрибумм-бин-нəhəəр

It is the same [to Him] whether any of you speaks secretly, or does so loudly, or whether he lurks in the night, or is open to view in daytime.

لَهُۥ مُعَقِّبَـٰتٌ مِّنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِۦ يَحْفَظُونَهُۥ مِنْ أَمْرِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ‌ۗ وَإِذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِقَوْمٍ سُوٓءًا فَلَا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥ‌ۚ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ مِن وَالٍ١١

лəhу му'əќќибəəтумм-мимм-бэйни йəдəйhи вəмин хōльфиhи йəhфəз̃уунəhу мин əмри льлəh, иннə ллаhə лəə йуґōййиру мəə биќōумин həттəə йуґōййируу мəə биəӈфусиhим, вəиз̃əə əрōōдə ллаhу биќōумин суу'əн фəлəə мəрōддə лəh, вəмəə лəhум-миӈ-дууниhи миу-вəəль

He has guardian angels, to his front and his rear, who guard him by Allah’s command. Indeed Allah does not change a people’s lot, unless they change what is in their souls. And when Allah wishes to visit ill on a people, there is nothing that can avert it, and they have no protector besides Him.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُرِيكُمُ ٱلْبَرْقَ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَيُنشِئُ ٱلسَّحَابَ ٱلثِّقَالَ١٢

hувə льлəз̃ии йуриикумуль-бəрќō хōуфəу-вəт̣ōмə'əу-вəйуӈши'у ссəhəəбə c̃c̃иќōōль

It is He who shows you the lightning, inspiring fear and hope, and He produces the clouds heavy [with rain].

وَيُسَبِّحُ ٱلرَّعْدُ بِحَمْدِهِۦ وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ مِنْ خِيفَتِهِۦ وَيُرْسِلُ ٱلصَّوَٲعِقَ فَيُصِيبُ بِهَا مَن يَشَآءُ وَهُمْ يُجَـٰدِلُونَ فِى ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْمِحَالِ١٣

вəйусəббиhу ррō'ду биhəмдиhи вəəльмəлəə'икəту мин хыыфəтиhи вəйурсилю ссōвəə'иќō фəйусыыбу биhəə мəй-йəшəə'у вəhум йуджəəдилююнə фии ллаhи вəhувə шəдиидуль-миhəəль

The Thunder celebrates His praise, and the angels [too], in awe of Him, and He releases the thunderbolts and strikes with them whomever He wishes. Yet they dispute concerning Allah, though He is great in might.

لَهُۥ دَعْوَةُ ٱلْحَقِّ‌ۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ لَا يَسْتَجِيبُونَ لَهُم بِشَىْءٍ إِلَّا كَبَـٰسِطِ كَفَّيْهِ إِلَى ٱلْمَآءِ لِيَبْلُغَ فَاهُ وَمَا هُوَ بِبَـٰلِغِهِۦ‌ۚ وَمَا دُعَآءُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ١٤

лəhу дə'вəтуль-həќќ, вəль-лəз̃иинə йəд'уунə миӈ-дууниhи лəə йəстəджиибуунə лəhумм-бишəй'ин ильлəə кəбəəсит̣ы кəффəйhи илəəль-мəə'и лийəблюґō фəəhу вəмəə hувə бибəəлиґиh, вəмəə ду'əə'уль-кəəфириинə ильлəə фии дōлəəль

[Only] to Him belongs the true invocation; and those whom they invoke besides Him do not answer them in any wise—like someone who stretches his hands towards water [desiring] that it should reach his mouth, but it does not reach it—and the invocations of the faithless only go awry.

وَلِلَّهِ يَسْجُدُ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَكَرْهًا وَظِلَـٰلُهُم بِٱلْغُدُوِّ وَٱلْأَصَالِ١٥

вəли-Ллəhи йəсджуду мəӈ-фии ссəмəəвəəти вəəльəрды т̣ōу'əу-вəкəрhəу-вəз̃ылəəлюhумм-биль-ґудууви вəəль'əəсōōль

To Allah prostrates whoever there is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and their shadows at sunrise and sunset.

قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ‌ۚ قُلْ أَفَٱتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنفُسِهِمْ نَفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا‌ۚ قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْبَصِيرُ أَمْ هَلْ تَسْتَوِى ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتُ وَٱلنُّورُ‌ۗ أَمْ جَعَلُواْ لِلَّهِ شُرَكَآءَ خَلَقُواْ كَخَلْقِهِۦ فَتَشَـٰبَهَ ٱلْخَلْقُ عَلَيْهِمْ‌ۚ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ خَـٰلِقُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ ٱلْوَٲحِدُ ٱلْقَهَّـٰرُ١٦

ќуль мəр-рōббу ссəмəəвəəти вəəльəрды ќули льлəh, ќуль əфəəттəхōз̃тум-миӈ-дууниhи əулийəə'ə лəə йəмликуунə лиəӈфусиhим нəф'əу-вəлəə дōррō, ќуль həль йəстəвииль-ə'мəə вəəльбəсыыру əм həль тəстəвии з̃з̃улюмəəту вə ннуур, əм джə'əлюю ли-Ллəhи шурōкəə'ə хōлəќуу кəхōльќиhи фəтəшəəбəhəль-хōльќу 'əлэйhим, ќули льлəhу хōōлиќу кулли шэй'иу-вəhувəль-вəəhидуль-ќōhhəəр

Say, ‘Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth?’ Say, ‘Allah!’ Say, ‘Have you then taken others besides Him for guardians, who have no control over their own benefit or harm?’ Say, ‘Are the blind one and the seer equal? Are darkness and light equal?’ Have they set up for Allah partners who have created like His creation, so that the creations seemed confusable to them? Say, ‘Allah is the creator of all things, and He is the One and the All-paramount.’

أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَسَالَتْ أَوْدِيَةُۢ بِقَدَرِهَا فَٱحْتَمَلَ ٱلسَّيْلُ زَبَدًا رَّابِيًا‌ۚ وَمِمَّا يُوقِدُونَ عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلنَّارِ ٱبْتِغَآءَ حِلْيَةٍ أَوْ مَتَـٰعٍ زَبَدٌ مِّثْلُهُۥ‌ۚ كَذَٲلِكَ يَضْرِبُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْحَقَّ وَٱلْبَـٰطِلَ‌ۚ فَأَمَّا ٱلزَّبَدُ فَيَذْهَبُ جُفَآءً‌ۖ وَأَمَّا مَا يَنفَعُ ٱلنَّاسَ فَيَمْكُثُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ‌ۚ كَذَٲلِكَ يَضْرِبُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْأَمْثَالَ١٧

əӈзəлə минə ссəмəə'и мəə'əн фəсəəлəт əудийəтумм-биќōдəриhəə фəəhтəмəлə ссəйлю зəбəдəр-рōōбийə, вəмиммəə йууќидуунə 'əлэйhи фии ннəəри-бтиґōō'ə hильйəтин əу мəтəə'ин зəбəдумм-миc̃люh, кəз̃əəликə йəдрибу ллаhуль-həќќō вəəльбəəт̣ыль, фəəммəə ззəбəду фəйəз̃həбу джуфəə'ə, вəəммəə мəə йəӈфə'у ннəəсə фəйəмкуc̃у фииль-əрд, кəз̃əəликə йəдрибу ллаhуль-əмc̃əəль

He sends down water from the sky whereat the valleys are flooded to [the extent of] their capacity, and the flood carries along a swelling scum. And from what they smelt in the fire for the purpose of [making] ornaments or wares, [there arises] a similar scum. That is how Allah compares truth and falsehood. As for the scum, it leaves as dross, and that which profits the people stays in the earth. That is how Allah draws comparisons.

لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَجَابُواْ لِرَبِّهِمُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ‌ۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُواْ لَهُۥ لَوْ أَنَّ لَهُم مَّا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا وَمِثْلَهُۥ مَعَهُۥ لَٱفْتَدَوْاْ بِهِۦٓ‌ۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ سُوٓءُ ٱلْحِسَابِ وَمَأْوَٮٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ‌ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ١٨

лильлəз̃иинə-стəджəəбуу лирōббиhимуль-hуснəə, вəль-лəз̃иинə лəм йəстəджиибуу лəhу лəу əннə лəhум-мəə фииль-əрды джəмии'əу-вəмиc̃лəhу мə'əhу лəəфтəдəу биh, уулəə'икə лəhум суу'уль-hисəəби вəмəвəəhум джəhəннəм, вəби'сəль-миhəəд

For those who answer [the summons of] their Lord there shall be the best [of rewards]. But those who do not answer Him, even if they possessed all that is on the earth and as much of it besides, they would surely offer it to redeem themselves with it. For such there shall be an adverse reckoning, and their refuge shall be hell, and it is an evil resting place.

أَفَمَن يَعْلَمُ أَنَّمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ ٱلْحَقُّ كَمَنْ هُوَ أَعْمَىٰٓ‌ۚ إِنَّمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ أُوْلُواْ ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ١٩

əфəмəй-йə'лəму əннəмəə уӈзилə илəйкə мир-рōббикəль-həќќу кəмəн hувə ə'мəə, иннəмəə йəтəз̃əккəру уулююль-əльбəəб

Is someone who knows that what has been sent down to you from your Lord is the truth, like someone who is blind? Only those who possess intellect take admonition

ٱلَّذِينَ يُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا يَنقُضُونَ ٱلْمِيثَـٰقَ٢٠

əль-лəз̃иинə йууфуунə би'əhди льлəhи вəлəə йəӈќудуунəль-мииc̃əəќ

—those who fulfill Allah’s covenant and do not break the pledge solemnly made,

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ وَيَخَافُونَ سُوٓءَ ٱلْحِسَابِ٢١

вəль-лəз̃иинə йəсылююнə мəə əмəрō ллаhу биhи əй-йуусōлə вəйəхшəунə рōббəhум вəйəхōōфуунə суу'əль-hисəəб

and those who join what Allah has commanded to be joined, and fear their Lord, and are afraid of an adverse reckoning

وَٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَقَامُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٲةَ وَأَنفَقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً وَيَدْرَءُونَ بِٱلْحَسَنَةِ ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عُقْبَى ٱلدَّارِ٢٢

вəль-лəз̃иинə сōбəруу-бтиґōō'ə вəджhи рōббиhим вəəќōōмуу ссōлəəтə вəəӈфəќуу миммəə рōзəќнəəhум сиррōу-вə'əлəəнийəтəу-вəйəдрō'уунə биль-həсəнəти ссəййи'əтə уулəə'икə лəhум 'уќбəə ддəəр

—those who are patient for the sake of their Lord’s pleasure, maintain the prayer, and spend secretly and openly out of what We have provided them, and repel evil [conduct] with good. For such will be the reward of the [ultimate] abode:

جَنَّـٰتُ عَدْنٍ يَدْخُلُونَهَا وَمَن صَلَحَ مِنْ ءَابَآئِهِمْ وَأَزْوَٲجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِهِمْ‌ۖ وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ يَدْخُلُونَ عَلَيْهِم مِّن كُلِّ بَابٍ٢٣

джəннəəту 'əдний-йəдхулююнəhəə вəмəӈ-сōлəhə мин əəбəə'иhим вəəзвəəджиhим вəз̃урриййəəтиhим, вəəльмəлəə'икəту йəдхулююнə 'əлэйhим-миӈ-кулли бəəб

the Gardens of Eden, which they will enter along with whoever is righteous from among their forebears, their spouses, and their descendants, and the angels will call on them from every door:

سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْكُم بِمَا صَبَرْتُمْ‌ۚ فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَى ٱلدَّارِ٢٤

сəлəəмун 'əлэйкумм-бимəə сōбəртум, фəни'мə 'уќбəə ддəəр

‘Peace be to you, for your patience.’ How excellent is the reward of the [ultimate] abode!

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مِيثَـٰقِهِۦ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ‌ۙ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمُ ٱللَّعْنَةُ وَلَهُمْ سُوٓءُ ٱلدَّارِ٢٥

вəль-лəз̃иинə йəӈќудуунə 'əhдə ллаhи мимм-бə'ди мииc̃əəќиhи вəйəќт̣ō'уунə мəə əмəрō ллаhу биhи əй-йуусōлə вəйуфсидуунə фииль-əрды уулəə'икə лəhуму льлə'нəту вəлəhум суу'у ддəəр

But as for those who break Allah’s compact after having pledged it solemnly, and sever what Allah has commanded to be joined, and cause corruption in the earth—it is such on whom the curse will lie, and for them will be the ills of the [ultimate] abode.

ٱللَّهُ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقْدِرُ‌ۚ وَفَرِحُواْ بِٱلْحَيَوٲةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَمَا ٱلْحَيَوٲةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ إِلَّا مَتَـٰعٌ٢٦

əллаhу йəбсут̣у рризќō лимəй-йəшəə'у вəйəќдир, вəфəриhуу биль-həйəəти ддунйəə вəмəəль-həйəəту ддунйəə фииль-'əəхырōти ильлəə мəтəə'

Allah expands the provision for whomever He wishes, and tightens it. They boast of the life of this world, but compared with the Hereafter the life of this world is but a [trifling] enjoyment.

وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ‌ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِىٓ إِلَيْهِ مَنْ أَنَابَ٢٧

вəйəќуулю льлəз̃иинə кəфəруу лəулəə уӈзилə 'əлэйhи əəйəтумм-мир-рōббиh, ќуль иннə ллаhə йудыллю мəй-йəшəə'у вəйəhдии илəйhи мəн əнəəб

The faithless say, ‘Why has not some sign been sent down to him from his Lord?’ Say, ‘Indeed Allah leads astray whomever He wishes, and guides to Himself those who turn penitently [to Him]

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۗ أَلَا بِذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ ٱلْقُلُوبُ٢٨

əль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу вəтəт̣мə'инну ќулююбуhумм-биз̃икри льлəh, əлəə биз̃икри льлəhи тəт̣мə'иннуль-ќулююб

—those who have faith and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah.’ Behold! The hearts find rest in Allah’s remembrance!

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ طُوبَىٰ لَهُمْ وَحُسْنُ مَــَٔابٍ٢٩

əль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу вə'əмилюю ссōōлиhəəти т̣уубəə лəhум вəhусну мə'əəб

Those who have faith and do righteous deeds—happy are they and good is their [ultimate] destination.

كَذَٲلِكَ أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ فِىٓ أُمَّةٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهَآ أُمَمٌ لِّتَتْلُوَاْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ وَهُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ بِٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ‌ۚ قُلْ هُوَ رَبِّى لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ مَتَابِ٣٠

кəз̃əəликə əрсəльнəəкə фии уммəтин ќōд хōлəт миӈ-ќōблиhəə умəмул-литəтлювə 'əлэйhиму льлəз̃ии əуhəйнəə илəйкə вəhум йəкфуруунə бир-рōhмəəн, ќуль hувə рōббии лəə илəəhə ильлəə hувə 'əлэйhи тəвəккəльту вəилəйhи мəтəəб

Thus have We sent you to a nation before which many nations have passed away, that you may recite to them what We have revealed to you. Yet they defy the All-beneficent. Say, ‘He is my Lord; there is no god except Him; in Him I have put my trust, and to Him will be my return.’

وَلَوْ أَنَّ قُرْءَانًا سُيِّرَتْ بِهِ ٱلْجِبَالُ أَوْ قُطِّعَتْ بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَوْ كُلِّمَ بِهِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ‌ۗ بَل لِّلَّهِ ٱلْأَمْرُ جَمِيعًا‌ۗ أَفَلَمْ يَاْيْــَٔسِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَن لَّوْ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّهُ لَهَدَى ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعًا‌ۗ وَلَا يَزَالُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ تُصِيبُهُم بِمَا صَنَعُواْ قَارِعَةٌ أَوْ تَحُلُّ قَرِيبًا مِّن دَارِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِىَ وَعْدُ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ٣١

вəлəу əннə ќур'əəнəн суййирōт биhиль-джибəəлю əу ќут̣т̣ы'əт биhиль-əрду əу куллимə биhиль-мəутəə, бəл-ли-Ллəhиль-əмру джəмии'ə, əфəлəм йəйəси льлəз̃иинə əəмəнуу əль-лəу йəшəə'у ллаhу лəhəдəə ннəəсə джəмии'ə, вəлəə йəзəəлю льлəз̃иинə кəфəруу тусыыбуhумм-бимəə сōнə'уу ќōōри'əтун əу тəhуллю ќōриибəмм-миӈ-дəəриhим həттəə йəтийə вə'ду ллаh, иннə ллаhə лəə йухлифуль-мии'əəд

If only it were a Quran whereby the mountains could be moved, or the earth could be toured, or the dead could be spoken to.... Indeed, all dispensation belongs to Allah. Have not the faithful yet realised that had Allah wished He would have guided mankind all together? The faithless will continue to be visited by catastrophes because of their doings—or they will land near their habitations—until Allah’s promise comes to pass. Indeed Allah does not break His promise.

وَلَقَدِ ٱسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ‌ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ٣٢

вəлəќōди-стуhзи'ə бирусулимм-миӈ-ќōбликə фəəмлəйту лильлəз̃иинə кəфəруу c̃уммə əхōз̃туhум, фəкəйфə кəəнə 'иќōōб

Apostles were certainly derided before you. But then I gave respite to those who were faithless, then I seized them; so how was My retribution?

أَفَمَنْ هُوَ قَآئِمٌ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ نَفْسِۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ‌ۗ وَجَعَلُواْ لِلَّهِ شُرَكَآءَ قُلْ سَمُّوهُمْ‌ۚ أَمْ تُنَبِّــُٔونَهُۥ بِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَم بِظَـٰهِرٍ مِّنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ‌ۗ بَلْ زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مَكْرُهُمْ وَصُدُّواْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ‌ۗ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنْ هَادٍ٣٣

əфəмəн hувə ќōō'имун 'əлəə кулли нəфсимм-бимəə кəсəбəт, вəджə'əлюю ли-Ллəhи шурōкəə'ə ќуль сəммууhум, əм тунəбби'уунəhу бимəə лəə йə'лəму фииль-əрды əмм-биз̃ōōhиримм-минəль-ќōуль, бəль зуййинə лильлəз̃иинə кəфəруу мəкруhум вəсуддуу 'əни ссəбииль, вəмəй-йудлили льлəhу фəмəə лəhу мин həəд

Is He who sustains every soul in spite of what it earns [comparable to the idols]? Yet they ascribe partners to Allah! Say, ‘Name them!’ Will you inform Him concerning something He does not know about on the earth, or concerning [what are] mere words? Indeed, to the faithless, their scheming is presented as decorous, and they have been barred from the [right] way; and whomever Allah leads astray, has no guide.

لَّهُمْ عَذَابٌ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٲةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا‌ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْأَخِرَةِ أَشَقُّ‌ۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَاقٍ٣٤

лəhум 'əз̃əəбун фииль-həйəəти ддунйəə, вəлə'əз̃əəбуль-'əəхырōти əшəќќ, вəмəə лəhум-минə ллаhи миу-вəəќ

There is a punishment for them in the life of this world, and the punishment of the Hereafter will surely be harder, and they have no defender against Allah.

مَّثَلُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ‌ۖ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ‌ۖ أُكُلُهَا دَآئِمٌ وَظِلُّهَا‌ۚ تِلْكَ عُقْبَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَواْ‌ۖ وَّعُقْبَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ٱلنَّارُ٣٥

мəc̃əлюль-джəннəти льлəтии ву'идəль-муттəќуун, тəджрии миӈ-тəhтиhəəль-əнhəəр, укулюhəə дəə'имуу-вəз̃ыллюhəə, тилькə 'уќбəə льлəз̃иинə-ттəќōу, вə'уќбəəль-кəəфириинə ннəəр

A description of the paradise promised to the Godwary: streams run in it, its fruits and shade are everlasting. Such is the requital of those who are Godwary; and the requital of the faithless is the Fire.

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ‌ۖ وَمِنَ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ مَن يُنكِرُ بَعْضَهُۥ‌ۚ قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ ٱللَّهَ وَلَآ أُشْرِكَ بِهِۦٓ‌ۚ إِلَيْهِ أَدْعُواْ وَإِلَيْهِ مَـَٔـابِ٣٦

вəль-лəз̃иинə əəтəйнəəhумуль-китəəбə йəфрōhуунə бимəə уӈзилə илəйк, вəминəль-əhзəəби мəй-йуӈкиру бə'дōh, ќуль иннəмəə умирту əн ə'будə ллаhə вəлəə ушрикə биh, илəйhи əд'уу вəилəйhи мə'əəб

Those whom We have given the Book rejoice in what has been sent down to you. Some of the factions deny a part of it. Say, ‘Indeed I have been commanded to worship Allah and not to ascribe any partner to Him. To Him do I summon [all mankind] and to Him will be my return.’

وَكَذَٲلِكَ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ حُكْمًا عَرَبِيًّا‌ۚ وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم بَعْدَمَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا وَاقٍ٣٧

вəкəз̃əəликə əӈзəльнəəhу hукмəн 'əрōбиййə, вəлə'ини-ттəбə'тə əhвəə'əhумм-бə'дəмəə джəə'əкə минəль-'ильми мəə лəкə минə ллаhи миу-вəлиййиу-вəлəə вəəќ

Thus We have sent it down as a dispensation in Arabic; and should you follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, you shall have against Allah neither any guardian nor defender.

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلاً مِّن قَبْلِكَ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ أَزْوَٲجًا وَذُرِّيَّةً‌ۚ وَمَا كَانَ لِرَسُولٍ أَن يَأْتِىَ بِـَٔـايَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۗ لِكُلِّ أَجَلٍ كِتَابٌ٣٨

вəлəќōд əрсəльнəə русулəмм-миӈ-ќōбликə вəджə'əльнəə лəhум əзвəəджəу-вəз̃урриййəh, вəмəə кəəнə лирōсуулин əй-йəтийə би'əəйəтин ильлəə бииз̃ни льлəh, ликулли əджəлин китəəб

Certainly We have sent apostles before you, and We appointed for them wives and descendants; and an apostle may not bring a sign except by Allah’s leave. There is a written [ordinance] for every term:

يَمْحُواْ ٱللَّهُ مَا يَشَآءُ وَيُثْبِتُ‌ۖ وَعِندَهُۥٓ أُمُّ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ٣٩

йəмhуу ллаhу мəə йəшəə'у вəйуc̃бит, вə'иӈдəhу уммуль-китəəб

Allah effaces and confirms whatever He wishes and with Him is the Mother Book.

وَإِن مَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ وَعَلَيْنَا ٱلْحِسَابُ٤٠

вəимм-мəə нурийəннəкə бə'дō льлəз̃ии нə'идуhум əу нəтəвəффəйəннəкə фəиннəмəə 'əлэйкəль-бəлəəґу вə'əлэйнəəль-hисəəб

Whether We show you a part of what We promise them, or take you away [before that], your duty is only to communicate, and it is for Us to do the reckoning.

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ أَنَّا نَأْتِى ٱلْأَرْضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا‌ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَحْكُمُ لَا مُعَقِّبَ لِحُكْمِهِۦ‌ۚ وَهُوَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ٤١

əвəлəм йəрōу əннəə нəтииль-əрдō нəӈќусуhəə мин əт̣рōōфиhəə, вə ллаhу йəhкуму лəə му'əќќибə лиhукмиh, вəhувə сəрии'уль-hисəəб

Have they not seen how We visit the land diminishing it at its edges? Allah judges, and there is none who may repeal His judgement, and He is swift at reckoning.

وَقَدْ مَكَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَلِلَّهِ ٱلْمَكْرُ جَمِيعًا‌ۖ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْسِبُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ‌ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلْكُفَّـٰرُ لِمَنْ عُقْبَى ٱلدَّارِ٤٢

вəќōд мəкəрō льлəз̃иинə миӈ-ќōблиhим фəли-Ллəhиль-мəкру джəмии'ə, йə'лəму мəə тəксибу куллю нəфс, вəсəйə'лəмуль-куффəəру лимəн 'уќбəə ддəəр

Those who were before them [also] schemed; yet all devising belongs to Allah. He knows what every soul earns. Soon the faithless will know in whose favour the outcome of that abode will be.

وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَسْتَ مُرْسَلاً‌ۚ قُلْ كَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ شَهِيدَۢا بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْ وَمَنْ عِندَهُۥ عِلْمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ٤٣

вəйəќуулю льлəз̃иинə кəфəруу лəстə мурсəлə, ќуль кəфəə биль-лəhи шəhиидəмм-бэйнии вəбэйнəкум вəмəн 'иӈдəhу 'ильмуль-китəəб

The faithless say, ‘You have not been sent [by Allah].’ Say, ‘Allah suffices as a witness between me and you, and he who possesses the knowledge of the Book.’
