الٓمٓ١

Алиф, лəм, мим.

Alif, Lam, Meem.

تَنزِيلُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ مِن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ٢

тəӈзиилюль-китəəби лəə рōйбə фииhи мир-рōббиль-'əəлəмиин

The [gradual] sending down of the Book, there is no doubt in it, is from the Lord of all the worlds.

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَ[ٮٰ]هُ‌ۚ بَلْ هُوَ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّآ أَتَـٰهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ٣

əм йəќуулююнə-фтəрōōh, бəль hувəль-həќќу мир-рōббикə литуӈз̃ирō ќōумəмм-мəə əтəəhум-мин-нəз̃ииримм-миӈ-ќōбликə лə'əльлəhум йəhтəдуун

But they say, ‘He has fabricated it.’ No, it is the truth from your Lord, that you may warn a people to whom there did not come any warner before you, so that they may be guided [to the right path].

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ‌ۖ مَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا شَفِيعٍ‌ۚ أَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ٤

əллаhу льлəз̃ии хōлəќō ссəмəəвəəти вəəльəрдō вəмəə бэйнəhумəə фии ситтəти əййəəмин c̃уммə-стəвəə 'əлəəль-'əрш, мəə лəкум-миӈ-дууниhи миу-вəлиййиу-вəлəə шəфии', əфəлəə тəтəз̃əккəруун

It is Allah who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days, then He settled on the Throne. You do not have besides Him any guardian or intercessor. Will you not then take admonition?

يُدَبِّرُ ٱلْأَمْرَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يَعْرُجُ إِلَيْهِ فِى يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُۥٓ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ٥

йудəббируль-əмрō минə ссəмəə'и илəəль-əрды c̃уммə йə'руджу илəйhи фии йəумин кəəнə миќдəəруhу əльфə сəнəтимм-миммəə тə'уддуун

He directs the command from the heaven to the earth; then it ascends toward Him in a day whose span is a thousand years by your reckoning.

ذَٲلِكَ عَـٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ٦

з̃əəликə 'əəлимуль-ґōйби вə шшəhəəдəтиль-'əзиизу ррōhиим

That is the Knower of the sensible and the Unseen, the All-mighty, the All-merciful,

ٱلَّذِىٓ أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقَهُۥ‌ۖ وَبَدَأَ خَلْقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ مِن طِينٍ٧

əльлəз̃ии əhсəнə кульлə шэй'ин хōлəќōh, вəбəдəə хōльќōль-иӈсəəни миӈ-т̣ыын

who perfected everything that He created and commenced man’s creation from clay.

ثُمَّ جَعَلَ نَسْلَهُۥ مِن سُلَـٰلَةٍ مِّن مَّآءٍ مَّهِينٍ٨

c̃уммə джə'əлə нəслəhу миӈ-сулəəлəтимм-мимм-мəə'имм-мəhиин

Then He made his progeny from an extract of a base fluid.

ثُمَّ سَوَّٮٰهُ وَنَفَخَ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِهِۦ‌ۖ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْــِٔدَةَ‌ۚ قَلِيلاً مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ٩

c̃уммə сəувəəhу вəнəфəхō фииhи мир-рууhиh, вəджə'əлə лəкуму ссəм'ə вəəльəбсōōрō вəəльəф'идəh, ќōлиилəмм-мəə тəшкуруун

Then He proportioned him and breathed into him of His Spirit, and made for you hearing, sight, and hearts. Little do you thank.

وَقَالُوٓاْ أَءِذَا ضَلَلْنَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَءِنَّا لَفِى خَلْقٍ جَدِيدِۭ‌ۚ بَلْ هُم بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّهِمْ كَـٰفِرُونَ١٠

вəќōōлюю əиз̃əə дōлəльнəə фииль-əрды əиннəə лəфии хōльќин джəдиид, бəль hумм-билиќōō'и рōббиhим кəəфируун

They say, ‘When we have been lost in the dust, shall we be indeed created anew?’ Indeed, they disbelieve in the encounter with their Lord.

قُلْ يَتَوَفَّـٰكُم مَّلَكُ ٱلْمَوْتِ ٱلَّذِى وُكِّلَ بِكُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ١١

ќуль йəтəвəффəəкум-мəлəкуль-мəути льлəз̃ии вуккилə бикум c̃уммə илəə рōббикум турджə'уун

Say, ‘You will be taken away by the angel of death, who has been charged with you. Then you will be brought back to your Lord.’

وَلَوْ تَرَىٰٓ إِذِ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ نَاكِسُواْ رُءُوسِهِمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ رَبَّنَآ أَبْصَرْنَا وَسَمِعْنَا فَٱرْجِعْنَا نَعْمَلْ صَـٰلِحًا إِنَّا مُوقِنُونَ١٢

вəлəу тəрōō из̃иль-муджримуунə нəəкисуу ру'уусиhим 'иӈдə рōббиhим рōббəнəə əбсōрнəə вəсəми'нəə фəəрджи'нəə нə'мəль сōōлиhəн иннəə мууќинуун

Were you to see when the guilty hang their heads before their Lord [confessing], ‘Our Lord! We have seen and heard. Send us back so that we may act righteously. Indeed we are [now] convinced.’

وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَأَتَيْنَا كُلَّ نَفْسٍ هُدَٮٰهَا وَلَـٰكِنْ حَقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ مِنِّى لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ١٣

вəлəу ши'нəə лə'əəтəйнəə кульлə нəфсин hудəəhəə вəлəəкин həќќōль-ќōулю миннии лəəмлəəннə джəhəннəмə минəль-джиннəти вə ннəəси əджмə'иин

Had We wished We would have given every soul its guidance, but My word became due [against the faithless]: ‘Surely I will fill hell with all the [guilty] jinn and humans.’

فَذُوقُواْ بِمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَـٰذَآ إِنَّا نَسِينَـٰكُمْ‌ۖ وَذُوقُواْ عَذَابَ ٱلْخُلْدِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ١٤

фəз̃ууќуу бимəə нəсиитум лиќōō'ə йəумикум həəз̃əə иннəə нəсиинəəкум, вəз̃ууќуу 'əз̃əəбəль-хульди бимəə куӈтум тə'мəлююн

So taste [the punishment] for your having forgotten the encounter of this day of yours. We [too] have forgotten you. Taste the everlasting punishment because of what you used to do.

إِنَّمَا يُؤْمِنُ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُواْ بِهَا خَرُّواْ سُجَّدًا وَسَبَّحُواْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ١٥

иннəмəə йу'мину би'əəйəəтинəə льлəз̃иинə из̃əə з̃уккируу биhəə хōрруу суджджəдəу-вəсəббəhуу биhəмди рōббиhим вəhум лəə йəстəкбируун

Only those believe in Our signs who, when they are reminded of them, fall down in prostration and celebrate the praise of their Lord, and they are not arrogant.

تَتَجَافَىٰ جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْمَضَاجِعِ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ١٦

тəтəджəəфəə джунуубуhум 'əниль-мəдōōджи'и йəд'уунə рōббəhум хōуфəу-вəт̣ōмə'əу-вəмиммəə рōзəќнəəhум йуӈфиќуун

Their sides vacate their beds to supplicate their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend out of what We have provided them.

فَلَا تَعْلَمُ نَفْسٌ مَّآ أُخْفِىَ لَهُم مِّن قُرَّةِ أَعْيُنٍ جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ١٧

фəлəə тə'лəму нəфсумм-мəə ухфийə лəhум-миӈ-ќуррōти ə'йунин джəзəə'əмм-бимəə кəəнуу йə'мəлююн

No one knows what delights have been kept hidden for them [in the Hereafter] as a reward for what they used to do.

أَفَمَن كَانَ مُؤْمِنًا كَمَن كَانَ فَاسِقًا‌ۚ لَّا يَسْتَوُۥنَ١٨

əфəмəӈ-кəəнə му'минəн кəмəӈ-кəəнə фəəсиќō, лəə йəстəвуун

Is someone who is faithful like someone who is a transgressor? They are not equal.

أَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ فَلَهُمْ جَنَّـٰتُ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ نُزُلاَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ١٩

əммəə льлəз̃иинə əəмəнуу вə'əмилюю ссōōлиhəəти фəлəhум джəннəəтуль-мəвəə нузулəмм-бимəə кəəнуу йə'мəлююн

As for those who have faith and do righteous deeds, for them will be the gardens of the Abode—a hospitality for what they used to do.

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فَسَقُواْ فَمَأْوَٮٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ‌ۖ كُلَّمَآ أَرَادُوٓاْ أَن يَخْرُجُواْ مِنْهَآ أُعِيدُواْ فِيهَا وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ ذُوقُواْ عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ٢٠

вəəммəə льлəз̃иинə фəсəќуу фəмəвəəhуму ннəəр, кульлəмəə əрōōдуу əй-йəхруджуу минhəə у'иидуу фииhəə вəќиилə лəhум з̃ууќуу 'əз̃əəбə ннəəри льлəз̃ии куӈтумм-биhи тукəз̃з̃ибуун

As for those who have transgressed, their refuge will be the Fire. Whenever they seek to leave it, they will be turned back into it and told: ‘Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny.’

وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَدْنَىٰ دُونَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَكْبَرِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ٢١

вəлəнуз̃ииќōннəhум-минəль-'əз̃əəбиль-əднəə дуунəль-'əз̃əəбиль-əкбəри лə'əльлəhум йəрджи'уун

We shall surely make them taste the nearer punishment prior to the greater punishment, so that they may come back.

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن ذُكِّرَ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِۦ ثُمَّ أَعْرَضَ عَنْهَآ‌ۚ إِنَّا مِنَ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ مُنتَقِمُونَ٢٢

вəмəн əз̃лəму миммəӈ-з̃уккирō би'əəйəəти рōббиhи c̃уммə ə'рōдō 'əнhəə, иннəə минəль-муджримиинə муӈтəќимуун

Who is a greater wrongdoer than him who is reminded of his Lord’s signs, whereat he disregards them? Indeed, We shall take vengeance upon the guilty.

وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ فَلَا تَكُن فِى مِرْيَةٍ مِّن لِّقَآئِهِۦ‌ۖ وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ هُدًى لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ٢٣

вəлəќōд əəтəйнəə муусəəль-китəəбə фəлəə тəкуӈ-фии мирйəтимм-мил-лиќōō'иh, вəджə'əльнəəhу hудəл-либəнии исрōō'ииль

Certainly We gave Moses the Book, [declaring], ‘Do not be in doubt about the encounter with Him,’ and We made it a [source of] guidance for the Children of Israel.

وَجَعَلْنَا مِنْهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا لَمَّا صَبَرُواْ‌ۖ وَكَانُواْ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا يُوقِنُونَ٢٤

вəджə'əльнəə минhум ə'иммəтəй-йəhдуунə биəмринəə лəммəə сōбəруу, вəкəəнуу би'əəйəəтинəə йууќинуун

When they had been patient and had conviction in Our signs, We appointed amongst them imams to guide [the people] by Our command.

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ٢٥

иннə рōббəкə hувə йəфсылю бэйнəhум йəумəль-ќийəəмəти фиимəə кəəнуу фииhи йəхтəлифуун

Indeed your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that about which they used to differ.

أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ يَمْشُونَ فِى مَسَـٰكِنِهِمْ‌ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَـٰتٍ‌ۖ أَفَلَا يَسْمَعُونَ٢٦

əвəлəм йəhди лəhум кəм əhлəкнəə миӈ-ќōблиhим-минəль-ќурууни йəмшуунə фии мəсəəкиниhим, иннə фии з̃əəликə лə'əəйəəт, əфəлəə йəсмə'уун

Does it not dawn upon them how many generations We have destroyed before them, amid [the ruins of] whose dwellings they walk? There are indeed signs in that. Will they not then listen?

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ أَنَّا نَسُوقُ ٱلْمَآءَ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلْجُرُزِ فَنُخْرِجُ بِهِۦ زَرْعًا تَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ أَنْعَـٰمُهُمْ وَأَنفُسُهُمْ‌ۖ أَفَلَا يُبْصِرُونَ٢٧

əвəлəм йəрōу əннəə нəсууќуль-мəə'ə илəəль-əрдыль-джурузи фəнухриджу биhи зəр'əн тəкулю минhу əн'əəмуhум вəəӈфусуhум, əфəлəə йубсыруун

Do they not see that We carry water to the parched earth and with it We bring forth crops, from which they eat, themselves and their cattle? Will they not then see?

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلْفَتْحُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ٢٨

вəйəќуулююнə мəтəə həəз̃əəль-фəтhу иӈ-куӈтум сōōдиќиин

They say, ‘When will this judgement be, if you are truthful?’

قُلْ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَتْحِ لَا يَنفَعُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِيمَـٰنُهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ٢٩

ќуль йəумəль-фəтhи лəə йəӈфə'у льлəз̃иинə кəфəруу иимəəнуhум вəлəə hум йуӈз̃ōруун

Say, ‘On the day of judgement their [newly found] faith will not avail the faithless, nor will they be granted any respite.’

فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَٱنتَظِرْ إِنَّهُم مُّنتَظِرُونَ٣٠

фəə'рид 'əнhум вəəӈтəз̃ыр иннəhум-муӈтəз̃ыруун

So turn away from them, and wait. They too are waiting.
