5:41
۞ يَا أَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ لَا يَحْزُنكَ الَّذِينَ يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْكُفْرِ مِنَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَلَمْ تُؤْمِن قُلُوبُهُمْ ۛ وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ هَادُوا ۛ سَمَّاعُونَ لِلْكَذِبِ سَمَّاعُونَ لِقَوْمٍ آخَرِينَ لَمْ يَأْتُوكَ ۖ يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَلِمَ مِن بَعْدِ مَوَاضِعِهِ ۖ يَقُولُونَ إِنْ أُوتِيتُمْ هَـٰذَا فَخُذُوهُ وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْتَوْهُ فَاحْذَرُوا ۚ وَمَن يُرِدِ اللَّهُ فِتْنَتَهُ فَلَن تَمْلِكَ لَهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا ۚ أُولَـٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ أَن يُطَهِّرَ قُلُوبَهُمْ ۚ لَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا خِزْيٌ ۖ وَلَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌйəə əййуhəəр-рōсуулю лəə йəhзуŋŋкəль-лəз̃иинə йусəəри'уунə фииль-куфри минəль-лəз̃иинə ќōōлюю əəмəннəə би`əфвəəhиhим вəлəм ту`миŋŋ-ќулююбуhум вəминəль-лəз̃иинə həəдуу, сəммəə'уунə ли-ль-кəз̃иби сəммəə'уунə лиќōумин əəхōриинə лəм йə`туук, йуhəррифуунəль-кəлимə мимм-бə'ди мəвəəды'иh, йəќуулююнə ин уутиитум həəз̃əə фəхуз̃ууhу вə`иль-лəм ту`тəуhу фəəhз̃əруу, вəмəй-йуридиль-лəhу фитнəтəhу фəлəŋŋ-тəмликə лəhу минəл-лаhи шэй`ə, уулəə`икəль-лəз̃иинə лəм йуридиль-лəhу əй-йутōhhирō ќулююбəhум, лəhум фиид-дунйəə хызй, вəлəhум фииль-əəхырōти 'əз̃əəбун 'əз̃ыым
O Apostle! Do not grieve for those who are active in [promoting] unfaith, such as those who say, ‘We believe’ with their mouths, but whose hearts have no faith, and the Jews who eavesdrop with the aim of [telling] lies [against you] and eavesdrop for other people who do not come to you. They pervert words from their meanings, [and] say, ‘If you are given this, take it, but if you are not given this, beware!’ Yet whomever Allah wishes to mislead, you cannot avail him anything against Allah. They are the ones whose hearts Allah did not desire to purify. For them is disgrace in this world, and there is a great punishment for them in the Hereafter. -
5:42
سَمَّاعُونَ لِلْكَذِبِ أَكَّالُونَ لِلسُّحْتِ ۚ فَإِن جَاءُوكَ فَاحْكُم بَيْنَهُمْ أَوْ أَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ ۖ وَإِن تُعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ فَلَن يَضُرُّوكَ شَيْئًا ۖ وَإِنْ حَكَمْتَ فَاحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِالْقِسْطِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِينَсəммəə'уунə ли-ль-кəз̃иби əккəəлююнə лис-суhт, фə`иŋŋ-джəə`уукə фəəhкумм-бэйнəhум əу ə'рид 'əнhум, вə`иŋŋ-ту'рид 'əнhум фəлэй-йəдурруукə шэй`ə, вə`ин həкəмтə фəəhкумм-бэйнəhумм-би-ль-ќист, иннəл-лаhə йуhиббуль-муќситыын
Eavesdroppers with the aim of [telling] lies, eaters of the unlawful—if they come to you, judge between them, or disregard them. If you disregard them, they will not harm you in any way. But if you judge, judge between them with justice. Indeed Allah loves the just. -
5:43
وَكَيْفَ يُحَكِّمُونَكَ وَعِندَهُمُ التَّوْرَاةُ فِيهَا حُكْمُ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّوْنَ مِن بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَا أُولَـٰئِكَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَвəкəйфə йуhəккимуунəкə вə'иŋŋдəhумут-тəурōōту фииhəə hукмул-лаhи c̃уммə йəтəвəльлəунə мимм-бə'ди з̃əəлик, вəмəə уулəə`икə би-ль-му`миниин
And how should they make you a judge, while with them is the Torah, in which is Allah’s judgement? Yet in spite of that, they turn their backs [on Him] and they are not believers. -
5:44
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَا التَّوْرَاةَ فِيهَا هُدًى وَنُورٌ ۚ يَحْكُمُ بِهَا النَّبِيُّونَ الَّذِينَ أَسْلَمُوا لِلَّذِينَ هَادُوا وَالرَّبَّانِيُّونَ وَالْأَحْبَارُ بِمَا اسْتُحْفِظُوا مِن كِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَكَانُوا عَلَيْهِ شُهَدَاءَ ۚ فَلَا تَخْشَوُا النَّاسَ وَاخْشَوْنِ وَلَا تَشْتَرُوا بِآيَاتِي ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا ۚ وَمَن لَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْكَافِرُونَиннəə əŋŋзəльнəəт-тəурōōтə фииhəə hудəу-вəнуур, йəhкуму биhəəн-нəбиййуунəль-лəз̃иинə əслəмуу лильлəз̃иинə həəдуу вəр-рōббəəниййуунə вəəль`əhбəəру бимəə-стуhфиз̃уу миŋŋ-китəəбиль-лəhи вəкəəнуу 'əлэйhи шуhəдəə, фəлəə тəхшəвун-нəəсə вəəхшəуни вəлəə тəштəруу би`əəйəəтии c̃əмəнəн ќōлиилə, вəмəль-лəм йəhкумм-бимəə əŋŋзəлəл-лаhу фə`уулəə`икə hумуль-кəəфируун
We sent down the Torah containing guidance and light. The prophets, who had submitted, judged by it for the Jews, and so did the rabbis and the scribes, as they were charged to preserve the Book of Allah and were witnesses to it. So do not fear the people, but fear Me, and do not sell My signs for a paltry gain. Those who do not judge by what Allah has sent down—it is they who are the faithless. -
5:45
وَكَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِيهَا أَنَّ النَّفْسَ بِالنَّفْسِ وَالْعَيْنَ بِالْعَيْنِ وَالْأَنفَ بِالْأَنفِ وَالْأُذُنَ بِالْأُذُنِ وَالسِّنَّ بِالسِّنِّ وَالْجُرُوحَ قِصَاصٌ ۚ فَمَن تَصَدَّقَ بِهِ فَهُوَ كَفَّارَةٌ لَّهُ ۚ وَمَن لَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَвəкəтəбнəə 'əлэйhим фииhəə əннəн-нəфсə бин-нəфси вəəль'əйнə би-ль-'əйни вəəль`əŋŋфə би-ль-əŋŋфи вəəль`уз̃унə би-ль-уз̃уни вəс-синнə бис-синни вəəльджурууhə ќисōōс, фəмəŋŋ-тəсōддəќō биhи фəhувə кəффəəрōтуль-лəh, вəмəль-лəм йəhкумм-бимəə əŋŋзəлəл-лаhу фə`уулəə`икə hумуз̃-з̃ōōлимуун
In it We prescribed for them: a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, and an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and retaliation for wounds. Yet whoever remits it out of charity, that shall be an atonement for him. Those who do not judge by what Allah has sent down—it is they who are the wrongdoers. -
5:46
وَقَفَّيْنَا عَلَىٰ آثَارِهِم بِعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ ۖ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْإِنجِيلَ فِيهِ هُدًى وَنُورٌ وَمُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَهُدًى وَمَوْعِظَةً لِّلْمُتَّقِينَвəќōффəйнəə 'əлəə əəc̃əəриhимм-би'иисəə-бни мəрйəмə мусōддиќōл-лимəə бэйнə йəдəйhи минəт-тəурōōh, вə`əəтəйнəəhуль-иŋŋджиилə фииhи hудəу-вəнууруу-вəмусōддиќōл-лимəə бэйнə йəдəйhи минəт-тəурōōти вəhудəу-вəмəу'из̃ōтəл-ли-ль-муттəќиин
We followed them with Jesus son of Mary, to confirm that which was before him of the Torah, and We gave him the Evangel containing guidance and light, confirming what was before it of the Torah, and as guidance and advice for the Godwary. -
5:47
وَلْيَحْكُمْ أَهْلُ الْإِنجِيلِ بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ فِيهِ ۚ وَمَن لَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَвəльйəhкум əhлюль-иŋŋджиили бимəə əŋŋзəлəл-лаhу фииh, вəмəль-лəм йəhкумм-бимəə əŋŋзəлəл-лаhу фə`уулəə`икə hумуль-фəəсиќуун
Let the people of the Evangel judge by what Allah has sent down in it. Those who do not judge by what Allah has sent down—it is they who are the transgressors. -
5:48
وَأَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَمُهَيْمِنًا عَلَيْهِ ۖ فَاحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ ۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ عَمَّا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْحَقِّ ۚ لِكُلٍّ جَعَلْنَا مِنكُمْ شِرْعَةً وَمِنْهَاجًا ۚ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلَـٰكِن لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِي مَا آتَاكُمْ ۖ فَاسْتَبِقُوا الْخَيْرَاتِ ۚ إِلَى اللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَвə`əŋŋзəльнəə илəйкəль-китəəбə би-ль-həќќи мусōддиќōл-лимəə бэйнə йəдəйhи минəль-китəəби вəмуhəйминəн 'əлэйh, фəəhкумм-бэйнəhумм-бимəə əŋŋзəлəл-лаh, вəлəə тəттəби' əhвəə`əhум 'əммəə джəə`əкə минəль-həќќ, ликуллин джə'əльнəə миŋŋкум шир'əтəу-вəминhəəджə, вəлəу шəə`əл-лаhу лəджə'əлəкум уммəтəу-вəəhидəтəу-вəлəəкил-лийəблювəкум фии мəə əəтəəкум, фəəстəбиќууль-хōйрōōт, илəл-лаhи мəрджи'укум джəмии'əн фəйунəбби`укумм-бимəə куŋŋтум фииhи тəхтəлифуун
We have sent down to you the Book with the truth, confirming what was before it of the Book and as a guardian over it. So judge between them by what Allah has sent down, and do not follow their desires against the truth that has come to you. For each [community] among you We had appointed a code [of law] and a path, and had Allah wished He would have made you one community, but [His purposes required] that He should test you in respect to what He has given you. So take the lead in all good works. To Allah shall be the return of you all, whereat He will inform you concerning that about which you used to differ. -
5:49
وَأَنِ احْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ وَاحْذَرْهُمْ أَن يَفْتِنُوكَ عَن بَعْضِ مَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ ۖ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ أَن يُصِيبَهُم بِبَعْضِ ذُنُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ النَّاسِ لَفَاسِقُونَвə`əни-hкумм-бэйнəhумм-бимəə əŋŋзəлəл-лаhу вəлəə тəттəби' əhвəə`əhум вəəhз̃əрhум əй-йəфтинуукə 'əмм-бə'ды мəə əŋŋзəлəл-лаhу илəйк, фə`иŋŋ-тəвəльлəу фəə'лəм əннəмəə йуриидул-лаhу əй-йусыыбəhумм-бибə'ды з̃унуубиhим, вə`иннə кəc̃иирōмм-минəн-нəəси лəфəəсиќуун
Judge between them by what Allah has sent down, and do not follow their desires. Beware of them lest they should beguile you from part of what Allah has sent down to you. But if they turn their backs [on you], then know that Allah desires to punish them for some of their sins, and indeed many of the people are transgressors. -
5:50
أَفَحُكْمَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَبْغُونَ ۚ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ اللَّهِ حُكْمًا لِّقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَəфəhукмəль-джəəhилиййəти йəбґуун, вəмəн əhсəну минəл-лаhи hукмəл-лиќōумий-йууќинуун
Do they seek the judgement of [pagan] ignorance? But who is better than Allah in judgement for a people who have certainty? -
5:51
۞ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَىٰ أَوْلِيَاءَ ۘ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُم مِّنكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу лəə тəттəхыз̃ууль-йəhуудə вəн-нəсōōрōō əулийəə`ə бə'дуhум əулийəə`у бə'д, вəмəй-йəтəвəльлəhум-миŋŋкум фə`иннəhу минhум, иннəл-лаhə лəə йəhдииль-ќōумəз̃-з̃ōōлимиин
O you who have faith! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for allies: they are allies of each other. Any of you who allies with them is indeed one of them. Indeed Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot. -
5:52
فَتَرَى الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ يُسَارِعُونَ فِيهِمْ يَقُولُونَ نَخْشَىٰ أَن تُصِيبَنَا دَائِرَةٌ ۚ فَعَسَى اللَّهُ أَن يَأْتِيَ بِالْفَتْحِ أَوْ أَمْرٍ مِّنْ عِندِهِ فَيُصْبِحُوا عَلَىٰ مَا أَسَرُّوا فِي أَنفُسِهِمْ نَادِمِينَфəтəрōōль-лəз̃иинə фии ќулююбиhим-мəрōдуй-йусəəри'уунə фииhим йəќуулююнə нəхшəə əŋŋ-тусыыбəнəə дəə`ирōh, фə'əсəл-лаhу əй-йə`тийə би-ль-фəтhи əу əмримм-мин 'иŋŋдиhи фəйусбиhуу 'əлəə мəə əсəрруу фии əŋŋфусиhим нəəдимиин
Yet you see those in whose hearts is a sickness rushing to them, saying, ‘We fear lest a turn of fortune should visit us.’ Maybe Allah will bring about a victory, or a command from Him, and then they will be regretful for what they kept secret in their hearts, -
5:53
وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَهَـٰؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ أَقْسَمُوا بِاللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَانِهِمْ ۙ إِنَّهُمْ لَمَعَكُمْ ۚ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فَأَصْبَحُوا خَاسِرِينَвəйəќуулюль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу əhəə`улəə`иль-лəз̃иинə əќсəмуу биль-лəhи джəhдə əймəəниhим иннəhум лəмə'əкум, həбитōт ə'мəəлюhум фə`əсбəhуу хōōсириин
and the faithful will say, ‘Are these the ones who swore by Allah with solemn oaths that they were with you?!’ Their works have failed, and they have become losers. -
5:54
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَن يَرْتَدَّ مِنكُمْ عَن دِينِهِ فَسَوْفَ يَأْتِي اللَّهُ بِقَوْمٍ يُحِبُّهُمْ وَيُحِبُّونَهُ أَذِلَّةٍ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَعِزَّةٍ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ يُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَا يَخَافُونَ لَوْمَةَ لَائِمٍ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ فَضْلُ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу мəй-йəртəддə миŋŋкум 'əŋŋ-дииниhи фəсəуфə йə`тиил-лаhу биќōумий-йуhиббуhум вəйуhиббуунəhу əз̃ильлəтин 'əлəəль-му`миниинə ə'иззəтин 'əлəəль-кəəфириинə йуджəəhидуунə фии сəбиилиль-лəhи вəлəə йəхōōфуунə лəумəтə лəə`им, з̃əəликə фəдлюл-лаhи йу`тииhи мəй-йəшəə, вəл-лаhу вəəси'ун 'əлиим
O you who have faith! Should any of you desert his religion, Allah will soon bring a people whom He loves and who love Him, [who will be] humble towards the faithful, stern towards the faithless, waging jihad in the way of Allah, not fearing the blame of any blamer. That is Allah’s grace, which He grants to whomever He wishes, and Allah is all-bounteous, all-knowing. -
5:55
إِنَّمَا وَلِيُّكُمُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا الَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَهُمْ رَاكِعُونَиннəмəə вəлиййукумул-лаhу вəрōсуулюhу вəəльлəз̃иинə əəмəнууль-лəз̃иинə йуќиимуунəс-сōлəəтə вəйу`туунəз-зəкəəтə вəhум рōōки'уун
Your guardian is only Allah, His Apostle, and the faithful who maintain the prayer and give the zakat while bowing down. -
5:56
وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فَإِنَّ حِزْبَ اللَّهِ هُمُ الْغَالِبُونَвəмəй-йəтəвəльлəл-лаhə вəрōсуулəhу вəəльлəз̃иинə əəмəнуу фə`иннə hизбəл-лаhи hумуль-ґōōлибуун
Whoever takes for his guardians Allah, His Apostle and the faithful [should know that] the confederates of Allah are indeed the victorious. -
5:57
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا دِينَكُمْ هُزُوًا وَلَعِبًا مِّنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَالْكُفَّارَ أَوْلِيَاءَ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу лəə тəттəхыз̃ууль-лəз̃иинə-ттəхōз̃уу диинəкум hузувəу-вəлə'ибəмм-минəль-лəз̃иинə уутууль-китəəбə миŋŋ-ќōбликум вəəлькуффəəрō əулийəə, вəəттəќуул-лаhə иŋŋ-куŋŋтум-му`миниин
O you who have faith! Do not take those who take your religion in derision and play, from among those who were given the Book before you, and the infidels, as friends, and be wary of Allah, should you be faithful. -
5:58
وَإِذَا نَادَيْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ اتَّخَذُوهَا هُزُوًا وَلَعِبًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَعْقِلُونَвə`из̃əə нəəдəйтум илəəс-сōлəəти-ттəхōз̃ууhəə hузувəу-вəлə'ибə, з̃əəликə би`əннəhум ќōумуль-лəə йə'ќилююн
When you call to prayer, they take it in derision and play. That is because they are a people who do not exercise their reason. -
5:59
قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ هَلْ تَنقِمُونَ مِنَّا إِلَّا أَنْ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلُ وَأَنَّ أَكْثَرَكُمْ فَاسِقُونَќуль йəə əhлəль-китəəби həль тəŋŋќимуунə миннəə ильлəə əн əəмəннəə биль-лəhи вəмəə уŋŋзилə илəйнəə вəмəə уŋŋзилə миŋŋ-ќōблю вə`əннə əкc̃əрōкум фəəсиќуун
Say, ‘O People of the Book! Are you vindictive toward us for any reason except that we have faith in Allah and in what has been sent down to us, and in what was sent down before, and that most of you are transgressors?’ -
5:60
قُلْ هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُم بِشَرٍّ مِّن ذَٰلِكَ مَثُوبَةً عِندَ اللَّهِ ۚ مَن لَّعَنَهُ اللَّهُ وَغَضِبَ عَلَيْهِ وَجَعَلَ مِنْهُمُ الْقِرَدَةَ وَالْخَنَازِيرَ وَعَبَدَ الطَّاغُوتَ ۚ أُولَـٰئِكَ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَأَضَلُّ عَن سَوَاءِ السَّبِيلِќуль həль унəбби`укумм-бишəрримм-миŋŋ-з̃əəликə мəc̃уубəтəн 'иŋŋдəл-лаh, мəль-лə'əнəhул-лаhу вəґōдыбə 'əлэйhи вəджə'əлə минhумуль-ќирōдəтə вəəльхōнəəзиирō вə'əбəдəт-тōōґуут, уулəə`икə шəррумм-мəкəəнəу-вə`əдōллю 'əŋŋ-сəвəə`ис-сəбииль
Say, ‘Shall I inform you concerning something worse than that as a requital from Allah? Those whom Allah has cursed and with whom He is wrathful, and turned some of whom into apes and swine, and worshippers of fake deities! Such are in a worse situation and more astray from the right way.’
