5:61
وَإِذَا جَاءُوكُمْ قَالُوا آمَنَّا وَقَد دَّخَلُوا بِالْكُفْرِ وَهُمْ قَدْ خَرَجُوا بِهِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْتُمُونَвə`из̃əə джəə`уукум ќōōлюю əəмəннəə вəќōд-дəхōлюю би-ль-куфри вəhум ќōд хōрōджуу биh, вəл-лаhу ə'лəму бимəə кəəнуу йəктумуун
When they come to you, they say, ‘We believe.’ Certainly, they enter with disbelief and leave with it, and Allah knows best as to what they have been concealing. -
5:62
وَتَرَىٰ كَثِيرًا مِّنْهُمْ يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَأَكْلِهِمُ السُّحْتَ ۚ لَبِئْسَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَвəтəрōō кəc̃иирōмм-минhум йусəəри'уунə фииль-иc̃ми вəəль'удвəəни вə`əклиhимус-суhт, лəби`сə мəə кəəнуу йə'мəлююн
You see many of them actively engaged in sin and aggression, and consuming illicit gains. Surely, evil is what they have been doing. -
5:63
لَوْلَا يَنْهَاهُمُ الرَّبَّانِيُّونَ وَالْأَحْبَارُ عَن قَوْلِهِمُ الْإِثْمَ وَأَكْلِهِمُ السُّحْتَ ۚ لَبِئْسَ مَا كَانُوا يَصْنَعُونَлəулəə йəнhəəhумур-рōббəəниййуунə вəəль`əhбəəру 'əŋŋ-ќōулиhимуль-иc̃мə вə`əклиhимус-суhт, лəби`сə мəə кəəнуу йəснə'уун
Why do not the rabbis and the scribes forbid them from sinful speech and consuming illicit gains? Surely, evil is what they have been working. -
5:64
وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ يَدُ اللَّهِ مَغْلُولَةٌ ۚ غُلَّتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَلُعِنُوا بِمَا قَالُوا ۘ بَلْ يَدَاهُ مَبْسُوطَتَانِ يُنفِقُ كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ ۚ وَلَيَزِيدَنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنْهُم مَّا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ طُغْيَانًا وَكُفْرًا ۚ وَأَلْقَيْنَا بَيْنَهُمُ الْعَدَاوَةَ وَالْبَغْضَاءَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ۚ كُلَّمَا أَوْقَدُوا نَارًا لِّلْحَرْبِ أَطْفَأَهَا اللَّهُ ۚ وَيَسْعَوْنَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَسَادًا ۚ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُفْسِدِينَвəќōōлəтиль-йəhууду йəдул-лаhи мəґлююлəh, ґульлəт əйдииhим вəлю'инуу бимəə ќōōлюю бəль йəдəəhу мəбсуутōтəəни йуŋŋфиќу кəйфə йəшəə, вəлəйəзиидəннə кəc̃иирōмм-минhум-мəə уŋŋзилə илəйкə мир-рōббикə туґйəəнəу-вəкуфрō, вə`əльќōйнəə бэйнəhумуль-'əдəəвəтə вəəльбəґдōō`ə илəə йəумиль-ќийəəмəh, кульлəмəə əуќōдуу нəəрōл-ли-ль-həрби əтфə`əhəл-лаh, вəйəс'əунə фииль-əрды фəсəəдə, вəл-лаhу лəə йуhиббуль-муфсидиин
The Jews say, ‘Allah’s hand is tied up.’ Tied up be their hands, and cursed be they for what they say! No, His hands are wide open: He bestows as He wishes. Surely many of them will be increased in rebellion and unfaith by what has been sent to you from your Lord, and We have cast enmity and hatred amongst them until the Day of Resurrection. Every time they ignite the flames of war, Allah puts them out. They seek to cause corruption on the earth, and Allah does not like the agents of corruption. -
5:65
وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ آمَنُوا وَاتَّقَوْا لَكَفَّرْنَا عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَأَدْخَلْنَاهُمْ جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِвəлəу əннə əhлəль-китəəби əəмəнуу вəəттəќōу лəкəффəрнəə 'əнhум сəййи`əəтиhим вəлə`əдхōльнəəhум джəннəəтин-нə'иим
Had the People of the Book believed and been Godwary, We would surely have absolved them of their misdeeds and admitted them into gardens of bliss. -
5:66
وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ أَقَامُوا التَّوْرَاةَ وَالْإِنجِيلَ وَمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِم مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ لَأَكَلُوا مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِهِم ۚ مِّنْهُمْ أُمَّةٌ مُّقْتَصِدَةٌ ۖ وَكَثِيرٌ مِّنْهُمْ سَاءَ مَا يَعْمَلُونَвəлəу əннəhум əќōōмуут-тəурōōтə вəəль`иŋŋджиилə вəмəə уŋŋзилə илəйhим-мир-рōббиhим лə`əкəлюю миŋŋ-фəуќиhим вəмиŋŋ-тəhти əрджулиhим, минhум уммəтумм-муќтəсыдəh, вəкəc̃иирумм-минhум сəə`ə мəə йə'мəлююн
Had they observed the Torah and the Evangel, and what was sent down to them from their Lord, they would surely have drawn nourishment from above them and from beneath their feet. There is an upright group among them, but evil is what many of them do. -
5:67
۞ يَا أَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ مَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ ۖ وَإِن لَّمْ تَفْعَلْ فَمَا بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالَتَهُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَйəə əййуhəəр-рōсуулю бəллиґ мəə уŋŋзилə илəйкə мир-рōббик, вə`иль-лəм тəф'əль фəмəə бəльлəґтə рисəəлəтəh, вəл-лаhу йə'сымукə минəн-нəəс, иннəл-лаhə лəə йəhдииль-ќōумəль-кəəфириин
O Apostle! Communicate that which has been sent down to you from your Lord, and if you do not, you will not have communicated His message, and Allah shall protect you from the people. Indeed Allah does not guide the faithless lot. -
5:68
قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لَسْتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَيْءٍ حَتَّىٰ تُقِيمُوا التَّوْرَاةَ وَالْإِنجِيلَ وَمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ ۗ وَلَيَزِيدَنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنْهُم مَّا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ طُغْيَانًا وَكُفْرًا ۖ فَلَا تَأْسَ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَќуль йəə əhлəль-китəəби лəстум 'əлəə шэй`ин həттəə туќиимуут-тəурōōтə вəəль`иŋŋджиилə вəмəə уŋŋзилə илəйкум-мир-рōббикум, вəлəйəзиидəннə кəc̃иирōмм-минhум-мəə уŋŋзилə илəйкə мир-рōббикə туґйəəнəу-вəкуфрō, фəлəə тə`сə 'əлəəль-ќōумиль-кəəфириин
Say, ‘O People of the Book! You do not stand on anything until you observe the Torah and the Evangel and what was sent down to you from your Lord.’ Surely many of them will be increased in rebellion and unfaith by what has been sent down to you from your Lord. So do not grieve for the faithless lot. -
5:69
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَالَّذِينَ هَادُوا وَالصَّابِئُونَ وَالنَّصَارَىٰ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَиннəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу вəəльлəз̃иинə həəдуу вəс-сōōби`уунə вəн-нəсōōрōō мəн əəмəнə биль-лəhи вəəльйəумиль-əəхыри вə'əмилə сōōлиhəн фəлəə хōуфун 'əлэйhим вəлəə hум йəhзəнуун
Indeed the faithful, the Jews, the Sabaeans, and the Christians—those who have faith in Allah and the Last Day and act righteously—they will have no fear, nor will they grieve. -
5:70
لَقَدْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَأَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ رُسُلًا ۖ كُلَّمَا جَاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ بِمَا لَا تَهْوَىٰ أَنفُسُهُمْ فَرِيقًا كَذَّبُوا وَفَرِيقًا يَقْتُلُونَлəќōд əхōз̃нəə мииc̃əəќō бəнии исрōō`иилə вə`əрсəльнəə илəйhим русулə, кульлəмəə джəə`əhум рōсуулюмм-бимəə лəə тəhвəə əŋŋфусуhум фəрииќōн кəз̃з̃əбуу вəфəрииќōй-йəќтулююн
Certainly We took a pledge from the Children of Israel, and We sent apostles to them. Whenever an apostle brought them that which was not to their liking, they would impugn a part of them, and a part they would slay. -
5:71
وَحَسِبُوا أَلَّا تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ فَعَمُوا وَصَمُّوا ثُمَّ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ عَمُوا وَصَمُّوا كَثِيرٌ مِّنْهُمْ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَвəhəсибуу əльлəə тəкуунə фитнəтун фə'əмуу вəсōммуу c̃уммə тəəбəл-лаhу 'əлэйhим c̃уммə 'əмуу вəсōммуу кəc̃иирумм-минhум, вəл-лаhу бəсыырумм-бимəə йə'мəлююн
They supposed there would be no testing, so they became blind and deaf. Thereafter Allah accepted their repentance, yet [again] many of them became blind and deaf, and Allah watches what they do. -
5:72
لَقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ۖ وَقَالَ الْمَسِيحُ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبَّكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُ مَن يُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ فَقَدْ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَأْوَاهُ النَّارُ ۖ وَمَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍлəќōд кəфəрōль-лəз̃иинə ќōōлюю иннəл-лаhə hувəль-мəсииhу-бну мəрйəм, вəќōōлəль-мəсииhу йəə бəнии исрōō`иилə-'будуул-лаhə рōббии вəрōббəкум, иннəhу мəй-йушрик биль-лəhи фəќōд həррōмəл-лаhу 'əлэйhиль-джəннəтə вəмə`вəəhун-нəəр, вəмəə лиз̃-з̃ōōлимиинə мин əŋŋсōōр
They are certainly faithless who say, ‘Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary.’ But the Messiah had said, ‘O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord, and your Lord. Indeed whoever ascribes partners to Allah, Allah shall forbid him [entry into] paradise, and his refuge shall be the Fire, and the wrongdoers will not have any helpers.’ -
5:73
لَّقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ ثَالِثُ ثَلَاثَةٍ ۘ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَـٰهٍ إِلَّا إِلَـٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۚ وَإِن لَّمْ يَنتَهُوا عَمَّا يَقُولُونَ لَيَمَسَّنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌлəќōд кəфəрōль-лəз̃иинə ќōōлюю иннəл-лаhə c̃əəлиc̃у c̃əлəəc̃əтиу-вəмəə мин илəəhин ильлəə илəəhуу-вəəhид, вə`иль-лəм йəŋŋтəhуу 'əммəə йəќуулююнə лəйəмəссəннəль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу минhум 'əз̃əəбун əлиим
They are certainly faithless who say, ‘Allah is the third [person] of a trinity,’ while there is no god except the One God. If they do not relinquish what they say, there shall befall the faithless among them a painful punishment. -
5:75
مَّا الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُ وَأُمُّهُ صِدِّيقَةٌ ۖ كَانَا يَأْكُلَانِ الطَّعَامَ ۗ انظُرْ كَيْفَ نُبَيِّنُ لَهُمُ الْآيَاتِ ثُمَّ انظُرْ أَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَмəəль-мəсииhу-бну мəрйəмə ильлəə рōсуулюн ќōд хōлəт миŋŋ-ќōблиhир-русулю вə`уммуhу сыддииќōh, кəəнəə йə`кулəəнит-тō'əəм, уŋŋз̃ур кəйфə нубəййину лəhумуль-əəйəəти c̃уммə-ŋŋз̃ур əннəə йу`фəкуун
The Messiah, son of Mary, is but an apostle. Certainly, [other] apostles have passed before him, and his mother was a truthful one. Both of them would eat food. Look how We clarify the signs for them, and yet, look, how they go astray! -
5:76
قُلْ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا ۚ وَاللَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُќуль əтə'будуунə миŋŋ-дууниль-лəhи мəə лəə йəмлику лəкум дōррōу-вəлəə нəф'ə, вəл-лаhу hувəс-сəмии'уль-'əлиим
Say, ‘Do you worship, besides Allah, what has no power to bring you any benefit or harm, while Allah—He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing?!’ -
5:77
قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لَا تَغْلُوا فِي دِينِكُمْ غَيْرَ الْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا أَهْوَاءَ قَوْمٍ قَدْ ضَلُّوا مِن قَبْلُ وَأَضَلُّوا كَثِيرًا وَضَلُّوا عَن سَوَاءِ السَّبِيلِќуль йəə əhлəль-китəəби лəə тəґлюю фии дииникум ґōйрōль-həќќи вəлəə тəттəби'уу əhвəə`ə ќōумин ќōд дōллюю миŋŋ-ќōблю вə`əдōллюю кəc̃иирōу-вəдōллюю 'əŋŋ-сəвəə`ис-сəбииль
Say, ‘O People of the Book! Do not unduly exceed the bounds in your religion and do not follow the fancies of a people who went astray in the past, and led many astray, and [themselves] strayed from the right path.’ -
5:78
لُعِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَىٰ لِسَانِ دَاوُودَ وَعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا وَّكَانُوا يَعْتَدُونَлю'инəль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу мимм-бəнии исрōō`иилə 'əлəə лисəəни дəəвуудə вə'иисəə-бни мəрйəм, з̃əəликə бимəə 'əсōу-вəкəəнуу йə'тəдуун
The faithless among the Children of Israel were cursed on the tongue of David and Jesus son of Mary. That, because they would disobey and they used to commit transgression. -
5:80
تَرَىٰ كَثِيرًا مِّنْهُمْ يَتَوَلَّوْنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ۚ لَبِئْسَ مَا قَدَّمَتْ لَهُمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ أَن سَخِطَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَفِي الْعَذَابِ هُمْ خَالِدُونَтəрōō кəc̃иирōмм-минhум йəтəвəльлəунəль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу, лəби`сə мəə ќōддəмəт лəhум əŋŋфусуhум əŋŋ-сəхытōл-лаhу 'əлэйhим вəфииль-'əз̃əəби hум хōōлидуун
You see many of them fraternizing with the faithless. Surely evil is what they have sent ahead for their souls, as Allah is displeased with them and they shall remain in punishment [forever].
