  • 80:21

    ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ فَأَقْبَرَهُ

    c̃уммə əмəəтəhу фə`əќбəрōh

    then He made him die and buried him;
  • 80:22

    ثُمَّ إِذَا شَاءَ أَنشَرَهُ

    c̃уммə из̃əə шəə`ə əŋŋшəрōh

    and then, when He wished, resurrected him.
  • 80:23

    كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَا أَمَرَهُ

    кəльлəə лəммəə йəќды мəə əмəрōh

    No indeed! He has not yet carried out what He has commanded him.
  • 80:24

    فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِ

    фəльйəŋŋз̃уриль-иŋŋсəəну илəə тō'əəмиh

    Let man consider his food:
  • 80:25

    أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَاءَ صَبًّا

    əннəə сōбəбнəəль-мəə`ə сōббə

    We pour down plenteous water [from the sky],
  • 80:26

    ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا الْأَرْضَ شَقًّا

    c̃уммə шəќōќнəəль-əрдō шəќќō

    then We split the earth making fissures in it
  • 80:27

    فَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا حَبًّا

    фə`əмм-бəтнəə фииhəə həббə

    and make the grain grow in it,
  • 80:28

    وَعِنَبًا وَقَضْبًا

    вə'инəбəу-вəќōдбə

    as well as vines and vegetables,
  • 80:29

    وَزَيْتُونًا وَنَخْلًا

    вəзəйтуунəу-вəнəхлə

    olives and date palms,
  • 80:30

    وَحَدَائِقَ غُلْبًا

    вəhəдəə`иќō ґульбə

    and densely-planted gardens,
  • 80:31

    وَفَاكِهَةً وَأَبًّا

    вəфəəкиhəтəу-вə`əббə

    fruits and pastures,
  • 80:32

    مَّتَاعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ

    мəтəə'əль-лəкум вəли`əн'əəмикум

    as a sustenance for you and your livestock.
  • 80:33

    فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الصَّاخَّةُ

    фə`из̃əə джəə`əтис-сōōххōh

    So when the deafening Cry comes—
  • 80:34

    يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ

    йəумə йəфирруль-мəр`у мин əхыыh

    the day when a man will evade his brother,
  • 80:35

    وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِيهِ

    вə`уммиhи вə`əбииh

    his mother and his father,
  • 80:36

    وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَبَنِيهِ

    вəсōōhибəтиhи вəбəнииh

    his spouse and his sons—
  • 80:37

    لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَأْنٌ يُغْنِيهِ

    ликулли-мри`имм-минhум йəумə`из̃ин шə`нуй-йуґнииh

    each of them will have a task to keep him preoccupied on that day.
  • 80:38

    وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُّسْفِرَةٌ

    вуджууhуй-йəумə`из̃имм-мусфирōh

    Some faces will be bright on that day,
  • 80:39

    ضَاحِكَةٌ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌ

    дōōhикəтумм-мустəбширōh

    laughing and joyous,
  • 80:40

    وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌ

    вəвуджууhуй-йəумə`из̃ин 'əлэйhəə ґōбəрōh

    and some faces on that day will be covered with dust,
