11:41
۞ وَقَالَ ارْكَبُوا فِيهَا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ مَجْرَاهَا وَمُرْسَاهَا ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌвəќōōлə-ркəбуу фииhəə бисмиль-лəhи мəджрōōhəə вəмурсəəhəə, иннə рōббии лəґōфуурур-рōhиим
He said, ‘Board it: In the Name of Allah it shall set sail and cast anchor. Indeed my Lord is all-forgiving, all-merciful.’ -
11:42
وَهِيَ تَجْرِي بِهِمْ فِي مَوْجٍ كَالْجِبَالِ وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ ابْنَهُ وَكَانَ فِي مَعْزِلٍ يَا بُنَيَّ ارْكَب مَّعَنَا وَلَا تَكُن مَّعَ الْكَافِرِينَвəhийə тəджрии биhим фии мəуджин кəəльджибəəли вəнəəдəə нууhун-бнəhу вəкəəнə фии мə'зилий-йəə бунəййə-ркəм-мə'əнəə вəлəə тəкумм-мə'əль-кəəфириин
And it sailed along with them amid waves [rising] like mountains. Noah called out to his son, who stood aloof, ‘O my son! ‘Board with us, and do not be with the faithless!’ -
11:43
قَالَ سَآوِي إِلَىٰ جَبَلٍ يَعْصِمُنِي مِنَ الْمَاءِ ۚ قَالَ لَا عَاصِمَ الْيَوْمَ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ۚ وَحَالَ بَيْنَهُمَا الْمَوْجُ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْمُغْرَقِينَќōōлə сə`əəвии илəə джəбəлий-йə'сымунии минəль-мəə, ќōōлə лəə 'əəсымəль-йəумə мин əмриль-лəhи ильлəə мəр-рōhим, вəhəəлə бэйнəhумəəль-мəуджу фəкəəнə минəль-муґрōќиин
He said, ‘I shall take refuge on a mountain; it will protect me from the flood.’ He said, ‘There is none today who can protect from Allah’s edict, except someone upon whom He has mercy.’ Then the waves came between them, and he was among those who were drowned. -
11:44
وَقِيلَ يَا أَرْضُ ابْلَعِي مَاءَكِ وَيَا سَمَاءُ أَقْلِعِي وَغِيضَ الْمَاءُ وَقُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ وَاسْتَوَتْ عَلَى الْجُودِيِّ ۖ وَقِيلَ بُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَвəќиилə йəə əрду-блə'ии мəə`əки вəйəə сəмəə`у əќли'ии вəґиидōль-мəə`у вəќудыйəль-əмру вəəстəвəт 'əлəəль-джуудийй, вəќиилə бу'дəл-ли-ль-ќōумиз̃-з̃ōōлимиин
Then it was said, ‘O earth, swallow your water! O sky, leave off!’ The waters receded; the edict was carried out, and it settled on [Mount] Judi. Then it was said, ‘Away with the wrongdoing lot!’ -
11:45
وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ رَّبَّهُ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ ابْنِي مِنْ أَهْلِي وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنتَ أَحْكَمُ الْحَاكِمِينَвəнəəдəə нууhур-рōббəhу фəќōōлə рōбби иннə-бнии мин əhлии вə`иннə вə'дəкəль-həќќу вə`əŋŋтə əhкəмуль-həəкимиин
Noah called out to his Lord, and said, ‘My Lord! My son is indeed from my family. Your promise is indeed true, and You are the fairest of all judges.’ -
11:46
قَالَ يَا نُوحُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ ۖ إِنَّهُ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَالِحٍ ۖ فَلَا تَسْأَلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ ۖ إِنِّي أَعِظُكَ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَќōōлə йəə нууhу иннəhу лэйсə мин əhлик, иннəhу 'əмəлюн ґōйру сōōлиh, фəлəə тəс`əльни мəə лэйсə лəкə биhи 'ильм, иннии ə'из̃укə əŋŋ-тəкуунə минəль-джəəhилиин
Said He, ‘O Noah! Indeed, He is not of your family. Indeed, he is [personification of] unrighteous conduct. So do not ask Me [something] of which you have no knowledge. I advise you lest you should be among the ignorant.’ -
11:47
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِي بِهِ عِلْمٌ ۖ وَإِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِي وَتَرْحَمْنِي أَكُن مِّنَ الْخَاسِرِينَќōōлə рōбби иннии ə'ууз̃у бикə əн əс`əлəкə мəə лэйсə лии биhи 'ильм, вə`ильлəə тəґфир лии вəтəрhəмнии əкумм-минəль-хōōсириин
He said, ‘My Lord! I seek Your protection lest I should ask You something of which I have no knowledge. If You do not forgive me and have mercy upon me I shall be among the losers.’ -
11:48
قِيلَ يَا نُوحُ اهْبِطْ بِسَلَامٍ مِّنَّا وَبَرَكَاتٍ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰ أُمَمٍ مِّمَّن مَّعَكَ ۚ وَأُمَمٌ سَنُمَتِّعُهُمْ ثُمَّ يَمَسُّهُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌќиилə йəə нууhу-hбит бисəлəəмимм-миннəə вəбəрōкəəтин 'əлэйкə вə'əлəə умəмимм-миммəмм-мə'əк, вə`умəмун сəнумəтти'уhум c̃уммə йəмəссуhум-миннəə 'əз̃əəбун əлиим
It was said, ‘O Noah! Disembark in peace from Us and with [Our] blessings upon you and upon nations [to descend] from those who are with you, and nations whom We shall provide for, then a painful punishment from Us shall befall them.’ -
11:49
تِلْكَ مِنْ أَنبَاءِ الْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهَا إِلَيْكَ ۖ مَا كُنتَ تَعْلَمُهَا أَنتَ وَلَا قَوْمُكَ مِن قَبْلِ هَـٰذَا ۖ فَاصْبِرْ ۖ إِنَّ الْعَاقِبَةَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَтилькə мин əмм-бəə`иль-ґōйби нууhииhəə илəйк, мəə куŋŋтə тə'лəмуhəə əŋŋтə вəлəə ќōумукə миŋŋ-ќōбли həəз̃əə, фəəсбир, иннəль-'əəќибəтə ли-ль-муттəќиин
These are accounts of the Unseen, which We reveal to you. Neither you nor your people used to know them before this. So be patient. Indeed the outcome will be in favour of the Godwary. -
11:50
وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًا ۚ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا مُفْتَرُونَвə`илəə 'əəдин əхōōhум hуудə, ќōōлə йəə ќōуми-'будуул-лаhə мəə лəкум-мин илəəhин ґōйруh, ин əŋŋтум ильлəə муфтəруун
And to ‘Ad [We sent] Hud, their brother. He said, ‘O my people! Worship Allah. You have no other god besides Him: you merely fabricate [the deities that you worship]. -
11:51
يَا قَوْمِ لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى الَّذِي فَطَرَنِي ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَйəə ќōуми лəə əс`əлюкум 'əлэйhи əджрō, ин əджрийə ильлəə 'əлəəль-лəз̃ии фəтōрōний, əфəлəə тə'ќилююн
‘O my people! I do not ask you any reward for it. My reward lies only with Him who originated me. Do you not exercise your reason? -
11:52
وَيَا قَوْمِ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا وَيَزِدْكُمْ قُوَّةً إِلَىٰ قُوَّتِكُمْ وَلَا تَتَوَلَّوْا مُجْرِمِينَвəйəə ќōуми-стəґфируу рōббəкум c̃уммə туубуу илəйhи йурсилис-сəмəə`ə 'əлэйкум-мидрōōрōу-вəйəзидкум ќуувəтəн илəə ќуувəтикум вəлəə тəтəвəльлəу муджримиин
‘O my people! Plead with your Lord for forgiveness, then turn to Him penitently: He will send copious rains for you from the sky, and add power to your [present] power. So do not turn your backs [on Him] as guilty ones.’ -
11:53
قَالُوا يَا هُودُ مَا جِئْتَنَا بِبَيِّنَةٍ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِتَارِكِي آلِهَتِنَا عَن قَوْلِكَ وَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَќōōлюю йəə hууду мəə джи`тəнəə бибəййинəтиу-вəмəə нəhну битəəрикии əəлиhəтинəə 'əŋŋ-ќōуликə вəмəə нəhну лəкə биму`миниин
They said, ‘O Hud, you have not brought us any manifest proof. We are not going to abandon our gods for what you say, and we are not going to believe you. -
11:54
إِن نَّقُولُ إِلَّا اعْتَرَاكَ بَعْضُ آلِهَتِنَا بِسُوءٍ ۗ قَالَ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُ اللَّهَ وَاشْهَدُوا أَنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَин-нəќуулю ильлəə-'тəрōōкə бə'ду əəлиhəтинəə бисуу, ќōōлə иннии ушhидул-лаhə вəəшhəдуу əннии бəрии`умм-миммəə тушрикуун
All we say is that some of our gods have visited you with some evil.’ He said, ‘I call Allah to witness—and you too be [my] witnesses—that I repudiate what you take as [His] partners -
11:56
إِنِّي تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ رَبِّي وَرَبِّكُم ۚ مَّا مِن دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهَا ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍиннии тəвəккəльту 'əлəл-лаhи рōббии вəрōббикум, мəə миŋŋ-дəəббəтин ильлəə hувə əəхыз̃умм-бинəəсыйəтиhəə, иннə рōббии 'əлəə сырōōтымм-мустəќиим
Indeed I have put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord. There is no living being but He holds it by its forelock. Indeed my Lord is on a straight path. -
11:57
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُم مَّا أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ إِلَيْكُمْ ۚ وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ رَبِّي قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّونَهُ شَيْئًا ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَفِيظٌфə`иŋŋ-тəвəльлəу фəќōд əблəґтукум-мəə урсильту биhи илəйкум, вəйəстəхлифу рōббии ќōумəн ґōйрōкум вəлəə тəдурруунəhу шэй`ə, иннə рōббии 'əлəə кулли шэй`ин həфииз̃
But if you turn your backs [on me], then [know that] I have communicated to you whatever I was sent to you with. My Lord will make another people succeed you, and you will not hurt Allah in the least. Indeed my Lord is watchful over all things.’ -
11:58
وَلَمَّا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا هُودًا وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَنَجَّيْنَاهُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍвəлəммəə джəə`ə əмрунəə нəджджəйнəə hуудəу-вəəльлəз̃иинə əəмəнуу мə'əhу бирōhмəтимм-миннəə вəнəджджəйнəəhум-мин 'əз̃əəбин ґōлииз̃
When Our edict came, We delivered Hud and the faithful who were with him, by a mercy from Us, and We delivered them from a harsh punishment. -
11:59
وَتِلْكَ عَادٌ ۖ جَحَدُوا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَصَوْا رُسُلَهُ وَاتَّبَعُوا أَمْرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍвəтилькə 'əəд, джəhəдуу би`əəйəəти рōббиhим вə'əсōу русулəhу вəəттəбə'уу əмрō кулли джəббəəрин 'əниид
Such were [the people of] Ad: they impugned the signs of their Lord and disobeyed His apostles, and followed the dictates of every obstinate tyrant. -
11:60
وَأُتْبِعُوا فِي هَـٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ أَلَا إِنَّ عَادًا كَفَرُوا رَبَّهُمْ ۗ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّعَادٍ قَوْمِ هُودٍвə`утби'уу фии həəз̃иhид-дунйəə лə'нəтəу-вəйəумəль-ќийəəмəh, əлəə иннə 'əəдəн кəфəруу рōббəhум, əлəə бу'дəл-ли'əəдин ќōуми hууд
So they were pursued by a curse in this world and on the Day of Resurrection. Behold! ‘Ad indeed defied their Lord. Now, away with ‘Ad, the people of Hud!
