  • 37:21
    هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ

    həəз̃əə йəумуль-фəслиль-лəз̃ии куŋŋтумм-биhи тукəз̃з̃ибуун

    ‘This is the Day of Judgement that you used to deny!’

     ۞ احْشُرُوا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا وَأَزْوَاجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ

    уhшурууль-лəз̃иинə з̃ōлəмуу вə`əзвəəджəhум вəмəə кəəнуу йə'будуун

    ‘Muster the wrongdoers and their mates and what they used to worship

  • 37:23
    مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ فَاهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطِ الْجَحِيمِ

    миŋŋ-дууниль-лəhи фəəhдууhум илəə сырōōтыль-джəhиим

    besides Allah, and show them the way to hell!

  • 37:24
    وَقِفُوهُمْ  ۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسْئُولُونَ

    вəќифууhум, иннəhум-мəс`уулююн

    [But first] stop them! For they must be questioned.’

    مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ

    мəə лəкум лəə тəнəəсōруун

    ‘Why is it that you do not support one another [today]?’

    بَلْ هُمُ الْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ

    бəль hумуль-йəумə мустəслимуун

    ‘Indeed, they are [meek and] submissive today!’

  • 37:27
    وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ

    вə`əќбəлə бə'дуhум 'əлəə бə'дый-йəтəсəə`əлююн

    Some of them will turn to others, questioning each other.

  • 37:28
    قَالُوا إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ الْيَمِينِ

    ќōōлюю иннəкум куŋŋтум тə`туунəнəə 'əниль-йəмиин

    They will say, ‘Indeed you used to accost us peremptorily.’

    قَالُوا بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ

    ќōōлюю бəль-лəм тəкуунуу му`миниин

    They will answer, ‘No, you [yourselves] had no faith.

    وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَانٍ  ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَاغِينَ

    вəмəə кəəнə лəнəə 'əлэйкум-миŋŋ-сультōōн, бəль куŋŋтум ќōумəн тōōґиин

    We had no authority over you. No, you [yourselves] were a rebellious lot.

  • 37:31
    فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَا  ۖ إِنَّا لَذَائِقُونَ

    фəhəќќō 'əлэйнəə ќōулю рōббинəə, иннəə лəз̃əə`иќуун

    So our Lord’s word became due against us that we shall indeed taste [the punishment].

  • 37:32
    فَأَغْوَيْنَاكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَاوِينَ

    фə`əґвəйнəəкум иннəə куннəə ґōōвиин

    So we perverted you, for we were perverse [ourselves].’

    فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ

    фə`иннəhум йəумə`из̃ин фииль-'əз̃əəби муштəрикуун

    So, that day they will share the punishment.

  • 37:34
    إِنَّا كَذَ‌ٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ

    иннəə кəз̃əəликə нəф'əлю би-ль-муджримиин

    Indeed, that is how We deal with the guilty.

  • 37:35
    إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

    иннəhум кəəнуу из̃əə ќиилə лəhум лəə илəəhə ильлəл-лаhу йəстəкбируун

    Indeed, it was they who, when they were told, ‘There is no god except Allah,’ used to be disdainful,

  • 37:36
    وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُو آلِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍ

    вəйəќуулююнə ə`иннəə лəтəəрикуу əəлиhəтинəə лишəə'иримм-мəджнуун

    and [they would] say, ‘Shall we abandon our gods for a crazy poet?’

  • 37:37
    بَلْ جَاءَ بِالْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

    бəль джəə`ə би-ль-həќќи вəсōддəќōль-мурсəлиин

    Indeed, he has brought [them] the truth, and confirmed the [earlier] apostles.

  • 37:38
    إِنَّكُمْ لَذَائِقُو الْعَذَابِ الْأَلِيمِ

    иннəкум лəз̃əə`иќууль-'əз̃əəбиль-əлиим

    Indeed you will taste the painful punishment,

  • 37:39
    وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

    вəмəə туджзəунə ильлəə мəə куŋŋтум тə'мəлююн

    and you will be requited only for what you used to do
    Detailed

  • 37:40
    إِلَّا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ الْمُخْلَصِينَ

    ильлəə 'ибəəдəл-лаhиль-мухлəсыын

    —[all] except Allah’s exclusive servants.
