3:142
أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا مِنكُمْ وَيَعْلَمَ الصَّابِرِينَəм həсибтум əŋŋ-тəдхулююль-джəннəтə вəлəммəə йə'лəмиль-лəhуль-лəз̃иинə джəəhəдуу миŋŋкум вəйə'лəмəс-сōōбириин
Do you suppose that you would enter paradise, while Allah has not yet ascertained those of you who have waged jihad and He has not ascertained the steadfast? -
3:143
وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ الْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَвəлəќōд куŋŋтум тəмəннəунəль-мəутə миŋŋ-ќōбли əŋŋ-тəльќōуhу фəќōд рō`əйтумууhу вə`əŋŋтум тəŋŋз̃уруун
Certainly you were longing for death before you had encountered it. Then certainly, you saw it, as you were looking on. -
3:144
وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُ ۚ أَفَإِن مَّاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ انقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَىٰ أَعْقَابِكُمْ ۚ وَمَن يَنقَلِبْ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَن يَضُرَّ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا ۗ وَسَيَجْزِي اللَّهُ الشَّاكِرِينَвəмəə муhəммəдун ильлəə рōсуулюн ќōд хōлəт миŋŋ-ќōблиhир-русуль, əфə`имм-мəəтə əу ќутилə-ŋŋќōлəбтум 'əлəə ə'ќōōбикум, вəмəй-йəŋŋќōлиб 'əлəə 'əќибəйhи фəлэй-йəдуррōл-лаhə шэй`ə, вəсəйəджзиил-лаhуш-шəəкириин
Muhammad is but an apostle; [other] apostles have passed before him. If he dies or is slain, will you turn back on your heels? Anyone who turns back on his heels, will not harm Allah in the least, and soon Allah will reward the grateful. -
3:145
وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَن تَمُوتَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ كِتَابًا مُّؤَجَّلًا ۗ وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ الْآخِرَةِ نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا ۚ وَسَنَجْزِي الشَّاكِرِينَвəмəə кəəнə линəфсин əŋŋ-тəмуутə ильлəə би`из̃ниль-лəhи китəəбəмм-му`əджджəлə, вəмəй-йурид c̃əвəəбəд-дунйəə ну`тиhи минhəə вəмəй-йурид c̃əвəəбəль-əəхырōти ну`тиhи минhəə, вəсəнəджзииш-шəəкириин
No soul may die except by Allah’s leave, at an appointed time. Whoever desires the reward of this world, We will give him of it; and whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter, We will give him of it; and soon We will reward the grateful. -
3:146
وَكَأَيِّن مِّن نَّبِيٍّ قَاتَلَ مَعَهُ رِبِّيُّونَ كَثِيرٌ فَمَا وَهَنُوا لِمَا أَصَابَهُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَمَا ضَعُفُوا وَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الصَّابِرِينَвəкə`əййимм-мин-нəбиййин ќōōтəлə мə'əhу риббиййуунə кəc̃иирун фəмəə вəhəнуу лимəə əсōōбəhум фии сəбиилиль-лəhи вəмəə дō'уфуу вəмəə-стəкəəнуу, вəл-лаhу йуhиббус-сōōбириин
How many a prophet there has been with whom a multitude of godly men fought. They did not falter for what befell them in the way of Allah, neither did they weaken, nor did they abase themselves; and Allah loves the steadfast. -
3:147
وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمْ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَвəмəə кəəнə ќōулəhум ильлəə əŋŋ-ќōōлюю рōббəнəə-ґфир лəнəə з̃унуубəнəə вə`исрōōфəнəə фии əмринəə вəc̃əббит əќдəəмəнəə вəəŋŋсурнəə 'əлəəль-ќōумиль-кəəфириин
All that they said was, ‘Our Lord, forgive us our sins and our excesses in our affairs, make our feet steady, and help us against the faithless lot.’ -
3:148
فَآتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ الْآخِرَةِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَфə`əəтəəhумул-лаhу c̃əвəəбəд-дунйəə вəhуснə c̃əвəəбиль-əəхырōh, вəл-лаhу йуhиббуль-муhсиниин
So Allah gave them the reward of this world and the fair reward of the Hereafter; and Allah loves the virtuous. -
3:149
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن تُطِيعُوا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَلَىٰ أَعْقَابِكُمْ فَتَنقَلِبُوا خَاسِرِينَйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу иŋŋ-тутыы'ууль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу йəруддуукум 'əлəə ə'ќōōбикум фəтəŋŋќōлибуу хōōсириин
O you who have faith! If you obey the faithless, they will turn you back on your heels, and you will become losers. -
3:151
سَنُلْقِي فِي قُلُوبِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا الرُّعْبَ بِمَا أَشْرَكُوا بِاللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِ سُلْطَانًا ۖ وَمَأْوَاهُمُ النَّارُ ۚ وَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الظَّالِمِينَсəнульќии фии ќулююбиль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруур-ру'бə бимəə əшрōкуу биль-лəhи мəə лəм йунəззиль биhи сультōōнə, вəмə`вəəhумун-нəəр, вəби`сə мəc̃вəəз̃-з̃ōōлимиин
We shall cast terror into the hearts of the faithless because of their ascribing partners to Allah, for which He has not sent down any authority, and their refuge shall be the Fire, and evil is the [final] abode of the wrongdoers. -
3:152
وَلَقَدْ صَدَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ إِذْ تَحُسُّونَهُم بِإِذْنِهِ ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فَشِلْتُمْ وَتَنَازَعْتُمْ فِي الْأَمْرِ وَعَصَيْتُم مِّن بَعْدِ مَا أَرَاكُم مَّا تُحِبُّونَ ۚ مِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ الدُّنْيَا وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ الْآخِرَةَ ۚ ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ لِيَبْتَلِيَكُمْ ۖ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا عَنكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَвəлəќōд сōдəќōкумул-лаhу вə'дəhу из̃ тəhуссуунəhумм-би`из̃ниh, həттəə из̃əə фəшильтум вəтəнəəзə'тум фииль-əмри вə'əсōйтум-мимм-бə'ди мəə əрōōкум-мəə туhиббуун, миŋŋкум-мəй-йуриидуд-дунйəə вəмиŋŋкум-мəй-йуриидуль-əəхырōh, c̃уммə сōрōфəкум 'əнhум лийəбтəлийəкум, вəлəќōд 'əфəə 'əŋŋкум, вəл-лаhу з̃уу фəдлин 'əлəəль-му`миниин
Allah certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were slaying them with His leave, until you lost courage, disputed about the matter, and disobeyed after He showed you what you loved. Some among you desire this world, and some among you desire the Hereafter. Then He turned you away from them so that He might test you. Certainly He has excused you, for Allah is gracious to the faithful. -
3:153
۞ إِذْ تُصْعِدُونَ وَلَا تَلْوُونَ عَلَىٰ أَحَدٍ وَالرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ فِي أُخْرَاكُمْ فَأَثَابَكُمْ غَمًّا بِغَمٍّ لِّكَيْلَا تَحْزَنُوا عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا مَا أَصَابَكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَиз̃ тус'идуунə вəлəə тəльвуунə 'əлəə əhəдиу-вəр-рōсуулю йəд'уукум фии ухрōōкум фə`əc̃əəбəкум ґōммəмм-биґōммил-ликəйлəə тəhзəнуу 'əлəə мəə фəəтəкум вəлəə мəə əсōōбəкум, вəл-лаhу хōбиирумм-бимəə тə'мəлююн
When you were fleeing without paying any attention to anyone, while the Apostle was calling you from your rear, He requited you with grief upon grief, so that you may not grieve for what you lose nor for what befalls you, and Allah is well aware of what you do. -
3:154
ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن بَعْدِ الْغَمِّ أَمَنَةً نُّعَاسًا يَغْشَىٰ طَائِفَةً مِّنكُمْ ۖ وَطَائِفَةٌ قَدْ أَهَمَّتْهُمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ يَظُنُّونَ بِاللَّهِ غَيْرَ الْحَقِّ ظَنَّ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ۖ يَقُولُونَ هَل لَّنَا مِنَ الْأَمْرِ مِن شَيْءٍ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ الْأَمْرَ كُلَّهُ لِلَّهِ ۗ يُخْفُونَ فِي أَنفُسِهِم مَّا لَا يُبْدُونَ لَكَ ۖ يَقُولُونَ لَوْ كَانَ لَنَا مِنَ الْأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ مَّا قُتِلْنَا هَاهُنَا ۗ قُل لَّوْ كُنتُمْ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ لَبَرَزَ الَّذِينَ كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَتْلُ إِلَىٰ مَضَاجِعِهِمْ ۖ وَلِيَبْتَلِيَ اللَّهُ مَا فِي صُدُورِكُمْ وَلِيُمَحِّصَ مَا فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِc̃уммə əŋŋзəлə 'əлэйкум-мимм-бə'диль-ґōмми əмəнəтəн-нну'əəсəй-йəґшəə тōō`ифəтəмм-миŋŋкум, вəтōō`ифəтун ќōд əhəммəтhум əŋŋфусуhум йəз̃уннуунə биль-лəhи ґōйрōль-həќќи з̃ōннəль-джəəhилиййəh, йəќуулююнə həль-лəнəə минəль-əмри миŋŋ-шэй, ќуль иннəль-əмрō кульлəhу лильлəh, йухфуунə фии əŋŋфусиhим-мəə лəə йубдуунə лəк, йəќуулююнə лəу кəəнə лəнəə минəль-əмри шэй`умм-мəə ќутильнəə həəhунəə, ќуль-лəу куŋŋтум фии буйуутикум лəбəрōзəль-лəз̃иинə кутибə 'əлэйhимуль-ќōтлю илəə мəдōōджи'иhим, вəлийəбтəлийəл-лаhу мəə фии судуурикум вəлийумəhhисō мəə фии ќулююбикум, вəл-лаhу 'əлиимумм-биз̃əəтис-судуур
Then He sent down to you safety after grief—a drowsiness that came over a group of you—while another group, anxious only about themselves, entertained false notions about Allah, notions of [pagan] ignorance. They say, ‘Do we have any role in the matter?’ Say, ‘Indeed the matter belongs totally to Allah.’ They hide in their hearts what they do not disclose to you. They say, ‘Had we any role in the matter, we would not have been slain here.’ Say, ‘Even if you had remained in your houses, those destined to be slain would have set out toward the places where they were laid to rest, so that Allah may test what is in your breasts, and that He may purge what is in your hearts, and Allah knows well what is in the breasts.’ -
3:155
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَوَلَّوْا مِنكُمْ يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعَانِ إِنَّمَا اسْتَزَلَّهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ بِبَعْضِ مَا كَسَبُوا ۖ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌиннəль-лəз̃иинə тəвəльлəу миŋŋкум йəумə-льтəќōōль-джəм'əəни иннəмəə-стəзəльлəhумуш-шэйтōōну бибə'ды мəə кəсəбуу, вəлəќōд 'əфəл-лаhу 'əнhум, иннəл-лаhə ґōфуурун həлиим
Those of you who fled on the day when the two hosts met, only Satan had made them stumble because of some of their deeds. Certainly, Allah has excused them, for Allah is all-forgiving, all-forbearing. -
3:156
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَقَالُوا لِإِخْوَانِهِمْ إِذَا ضَرَبُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ أَوْ كَانُوا غُزًّى لَّوْ كَانُوا عِندَنَا مَا مَاتُوا وَمَا قُتِلُوا لِيَجْعَلَ اللَّهُ ذَٰلِكَ حَسْرَةً فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌйəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу лəə тəкуунуу кəəльлəз̃иинə кəфəруу вəќōōлюю ли`ихвəəниhим из̃əə дōрōбуу фииль-əрды əу кəəнуу ґуззəль-лəу кəəнуу 'иŋŋдəнəə мəə мəəтуу вəмəə ќутилюю лийəдж'əлəл-лаhу з̃əəликə həсрōтəн фии ќулююбиhим, вəл-лаhу йуhйии вəйумиит, вəл-лаhу бимəə тə'мəлююнə бəсыыр
O you who have faith! Do not be like the faithless who say of their brethren, when they travel in the land or go into battle, ‘Had they stayed with us they would not have died or been killed,’ so that Allah may make it a regret in their hearts. But Allah gives life and brings death, and Allah watches what you do. -
3:157
وَلَئِن قُتِلْتُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَوْ مُتُّمْ لَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَرَحْمَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَвəлə`иŋŋ-ќутильтум фии сəбиилиль-лəhи əу муттум лəмəґфирōтумм-минəл-лаhи вəрōhмəтун хōйрумм-миммəə йəджмə'уун
If you are slain in the way of Allah, or die, forgiveness and mercy from Allah are surely better than what they amass. -
3:159
فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ الْقَلْبِ لَانفَضُّوا مِنْ حَوْلِكَ ۖ فَاعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِي الْأَمْرِ ۖ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَوَكِّلِينَфəбимəə рōhмəтимм-минəл-лаhи лиŋŋтə лəhум, вəлəу куŋŋтə фəз̃з̃ōн ґōлииз̃ōль-ќōльби лəəŋŋфəддуу мин həулик, фəə'фу 'əнhум вəəстəґфир лəhум вəшəəвирhум фииль-əмр, фə`из̃əə 'əзəмтə фəтəвəккəль 'əлəл-лаh, иннəл-лаhə йуhиббуль-мутəвəккилиин
It is by Allah’s mercy that you are gentle to them; had you been harsh and hardhearted, they would have surely scattered from around you. So excuse them and plead for forgiveness for them, and consult them in the affairs, and once you are resolved, put your trust in Allah. Indeed Allah loves those who trust in Him. -
3:160
إِن يَنصُرْكُمُ اللَّهُ فَلَا غَالِبَ لَكُمْ ۖ وَإِن يَخْذُلْكُمْ فَمَن ذَا الَّذِي يَنصُرُكُم مِّن بَعْدِهِ ۗ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَий-йəŋŋсуркумул-лаhу фəлəə ґōōлибə лəкум, вə`ий-йəхз̃улькум фəмəŋŋ-з̃əəль-лəз̃ии йəŋŋсурукум-мимм-бə'диh, вə'əлəл-лаhи фəльйəтəвəккəлиль-му`минуун
If Allah helps you, no one can overcome you, but if He forsakes you, who will help you after Him? So in Allah let all the faithful put their trust.
